  1. Tea at Cardiffpublished at 15:27 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 228-8 v Lancashire

Glamorgan survive George Balderson's 18th over of the day and go into tea having steadied the ship somewhat after losing six wickets during the morning session.

They added 114 for the loss of Chris Cooke and Timm van der Gugten, the latter making 55 before he was lbw to Balderson.

Mason Crane is still there on 37 not out, with James Harris yet to score.

  2. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:27 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 211-4

Somerset passed 200 in the 59th over via a James Rew back foot drive for one off the leg spin bowling of Matt Critchley.

The last over of this session will be bowled by Simon Harmer.

He nearly gets Lewis Goldsworthy LBW with one that turns on a good length but it may have bounced over the top.

A quicker one nearly beats the defences but Goldsworthy survives.

An even session of play for both sides.

  3. Postpublished at 15:22 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks 118-3

Leg side from Brett Hutton but the ball is too wide for Zen Malik to nudge it away fine.

Shot! Full and pushed down the ground for four.

Showing the label on the front of the bat there.

  4. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:20 BST 24 September

    Kent v Derbyshire 238-2

A good afternoon for the visitors at the Spitfire Ground as they reach tea with a first batting point firmly in their sights.

Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen have added exactly 80 since the dismissal of Harry Came and are 87 and 40 not out respectively - and Madsen has yet again passed 1,000 runs for a season.

Came was stumped off Matt Parkinson for 35 and left-arm paceman Michael Cohen picked up the other wicket to fall earlier in the day, bowling Aneurin Donald for 55.

  5. Wicket and tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:19 BST 24 September

    Cox b Keogh 20 (Northants v Leics 252-6)

Rob Keogh strikes with the fifth ball of his over, drawing Ben Cox into a loose drive.

    Excellent line, length and flight.

The game is finely poised going into the final session of Day One.

  6. Postpublished at 15:17 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 225-8 v Lancs

A third wicket for George Balderson at Sophia Gardens as Timm van der Gugten plays all around a straight one and is leg-before.

He made 53 from 122 balls and put on 82 for the eighth-wicket with Mason Crane, who has now been joined by James Harris.

  7. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 24 September

The fourth ball is flicked through mid wicket for two.

for Ben Geddespublished at 15:10 BST 24 September

    Middx 261-4 v Glos

Not the most convincing way to bring up a half-century as Ben Geddes inside edges Graeme van Buuren past the keeper and the ball rolls away to fine leg allowing them to add three to the total.

It has taken him 80 balls and the runs also bring up a 100 partnership with Leus du Plooy.

  9. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 199-4

James Rew is back and across to Simon Harmer, pushing the left arm spinner through the off side for one past Paul Walter.

Single to Lewis Goldsworthy to deep cover.

Rew drives through extra cover for one.

  10. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 24 September

    Hants 27-0 v Surrey 147

Hants have made a confident start or should that be Ali Orr has given he has all 27 of the runs on the board to date.

To be fair he has dominated the strike facing 18 of the 24 in the first four overs with Fletcha Middleton 0 from his six.

  11. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 24 September

    Yorks v Durham 161-5

This feels finely-poised now with Durham, having looked in control at lunch, slightly pegged back by those two wickets since.

David Bedingham is going nicely on 69 but Dom Bess is inducing a little bit of uncertainty turning the odd one and varying his pace.

George Hill is getting a breather but Matt Milnes will ensure the pressure stays on the batsmen.

  12. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks 101-3

Sam Hain nudges Brett Hutton from the crease and into the off side for one to reach the innings 100 in 39.1 overs.

Single to Zen Malik, flicking through mid wicket off the back foot.

  13. Robinson's season of struggle continuespublished at 15:04 BST 24 September

    Durham 159-5 v Yorkshire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

After a 101 partnership for the fourth wicket, Durham have now lost two in the space of 2.2 overs.

Will Rhodes was on 50 when he pulled a ball from Dom Bess straight to James Wharton at mid-wicket. And one soon led to two as Ollie Robinson was out just seven balls into his innings.

He's struggled at times this year and chose to leave a ball from George Hill which clipped his off stump. He departed for one.

Robinson spent the winter overseas with the England Test side but looks way off the player he was in 2024. Last year he averaged 48.38 and his season included two centuries and five half centuries. He made 871 runs.

This year he's averaging 29 with one century and three half centuries. He's scored 587 runs, which is quite a difference.

David Bedingham, who has 66, has now been joined by Graham Clark.

  14. Postpublished at 15:04 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 194-4

Lewis Goldsworthy nudges left arm spinner Simon Harmer to deep third for one.

James Rew is forward to block.

He tries to force a shorter ball away off the back foot but doesn't clear the off side.

But he connects with the next ball, scything it all along the ground and through point for four.

  15. Batting point for Middlesexpublished at 15:03 BST 24 September

    Middx 252-4 v Glos

Ben Geddes rocks onto the back foot and steers a ball from Graeme van Buuren through the covers for four as Middlesex pass 250. Geddes is just three runs short of his half-century.

  16. Postpublished at 15:00 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics 250-5

Rob Keogh bowls to Stephen Eskinazi, who defends down the pitch.

  17. Postpublished at 15:00 BST 24 September

    Kent v Derbys 226-2

Corey Flintoff is still waiting for his first wicket in a Championship game - he has bowled nine tidy overs for figures of 0-31 so far.

Jaydn Denly comes into the attack as Flintoff takes a breather and his opening over costs just three runs.

Luis Reece is 84 not out and Wayne Madsen has 33.

    Alsop b Allison 1 (Worcs 123 v Sussex 67-4)

Another delivery which does not seem to do a right lot but ends up with Tom Alsop leaving a gaping whole between bat and pad which Ben Allison fires the ball through and knocks out his middle stump.

    Young c McCann b Hutton 48 (Notts v Warwicks 94-3)

Notts have their third wicket and now they only need another four points for the title.

Has a bowling bonus point ever been sweeter at Trent Bridge?

Will Young plays a loose stroke going back to Brett Hutton, cutting the ball chest high to Freddie McCann at second slip.

Zen Malik is in next for the Bears.
