    Target 138

This was the Kaleem wide in the previous over. See what I mean about it being a Harmison. That should count as two wides. Better over this time. Only three from it.

    The other Jon Lewis.

Kaleem is bowling left-arm round now. His line is much better.

Gordon is getting the ball to swing. The Canadians are just struggling with the radar a touch. Still, only three from it.

Paul Stirling is trying to learn. He's trying to restrain himself because normally his plan is to attack the powerplay.

  7. Ire 12-0published at 1.2 overs

Jeremy Gordon shares new-ball duties. He's slingy, but with a little pace.

How can you not smile after a stroke like that? It is vintage Paul Stirling.

I've always said he is one of the players I would pay to watch. When he is good, he is world class.

  9. Ire 10-0published at 1 over

    Target 138

Fetch it. Too wide from Kaleem, Stirling climbs into a drive that scoots away to wide third man. Good start for the Irish.

They could definitely defend this. Harry Tector being hit may make him slightly nervous going out with his sore thumb.

Nicholas Kirton was good but, it did frustrate me when he started moving around a lot.

  11. Ire 3-0published at 0.2 overs

    Target 138

    That's a Harmison!

So wide it's almost off the pitch. First slip took it to his right.

    Shane Lee.

I'm now thinking of cricketers with two first names.

    Brett Lee

    Alec Stewart

    Ian Austin

Kaleem has bowled two wides and followed up with an absolute snorter.

  13. Ireland need 138 to winpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 7 June

Right then, 138 for Ireland to get their World Cup up and running. Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling are out there, left-armer Kaleem Sana has the ball.

Here's Stephan Shemilt to take you through Ireland's chase.

Canada batter Nicholas Kirton on TMS: "The pitch was a bit up and down but the ball is coming through OK. I think we have a defendable total.

"I would like another five or 10 runs, but once the bowlers come to the party, we should be OK.

"We're pretty happy with the total. Hopefully we can get the win."

Canada will be pleased with that, I reckon.

The pitch didn't have the devilment we saw in the last two matches, but the outfield was slow and there were times where they were tested by the Irish bowlers.

From an Irish perspective, they should in-turn feel confident of chasing a total of 138 against a lower-ranked team, but there'll be concern about Josh Little failing to fire for a second match in a row, while Barry McCarthy and Craig Young each had expensive overs.

Curiously, Ireland's two slower bowlers conceded just 21 runs from two overs apiece, while all four seamers were bowled out.

Movva run out 37 (Can 137-7)

Movva mis-times one over mid-off over two and tries to get the same amount from the final ball after shanking another ball in the same direction.

This time the ball drops in front of Barry McCarthy, who throws to Lorcan Tucker for an easy last ball run out.

  19. Can 134-6published at 18.4 overs

Adair lands a ball just inside the tramlines for a dot ball before Shreyas Movva carves him through the covers for a one-bounce four.
