Canada not being able to find the boundary as often as they liked. They're going to be way shy of 150.

  2. Can 130-6published at 19.2 overs

Mark Adair to bowl the final over.

The captain has come in for Canada, Saad Bin Zafar pushing into the covers for a single.

    Two-ball cameo from Dillon Heyliger!

He came out swinging and holed out to Josh Little at long-on.

    Curtains for Kirton!

No half-century on this occasion, he falls one shot as Barry McCarthy picks up his first wicket.

If Canada get 150 I am saying they are favourites.

Paul, whose surname is Ziesmann, will be pleased to know we've trailed the archives and found a picture of him in action for Canada U19s against India at that World Cup...

  8. Can 126-4published at 18 overs

Back comes Mark Adair, a decent over and the Canada batters are unable to send him to the ropes.

His fourth delivery is called for a head-height wide, with Movva doing a funky step back and forth before the ball came down - I'd have been intrigued to know what shot he planned to play.

It's been quite a jorney to get here for Canada fans Paul and Digvijay.

They have travelled the best part of three hours to get to Winnipeg, the province of Manitoba then flew from there to Toronto. They then drove down to New York.

"It's been a bit like the film Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but we've made it," says Paul.

This is not Paul's first World Cup. He played for Canada at the Under-19 version in New Zealand in 2002.

"I was one of the first local Canadian players to come through a cricket programme aimed at kids," he adds. "I had the time of my life playing the game and travelling the world."

Four more for Kirton, lashing Josh Little over extra cover. He's moving towards a half-century, sitting on 46 at the end of the over.

That's Little done too - figures of 0-37, the Irish spearhead struggling again.

  11. 6 runs

    Canada 110-4published at 16 overs

    Another six for Kirton!

He lifts Young over mid-off, the ball landing just clear of the ropes.

Meanwhile a single between the sixes brought up the fifty partnership.

Young finishes with figures of 2-32 - 28 of those runs came from his last two overs, including 18 from this one.

Elegant shots both of them, the first two sixes of the innings.

    Can 102-4published at 15.2 overs

Hundred up for Canada - the first time a side has reached that mark in three matches at this stadium.

Nicholas Kirton brings up with successive boundaries, striking Craig Young down the ground for the match's first six, then turning the ball around the corner for four.

Harry Tector dived to his left hand side with outstanding fielding.

    Better over from Barry McCarthy.

He sees Harry Tector dive impressively to cut off Kirton's shot at backward point, then lifts a ball past the gloves of the Canada batter, who just about manages to move his hands out of the way.

Just two singles from the over - he'd gone for twenty from his first two.

Michael from Toronto has only seen cricket on the television, and decided to make the trip down to New York to support Canada.

"It's my first live game actually at a cricket ground," he tells me from behind one of the huge temporary stands here in New York.

"I follow a lot of different sports and, of course, there's elements of baseball which cross over to cricket. Hopefully Canada can get the win!"

  17. Can 90-4published at 14 overs

Signs of Canada trying to up the rate a little here, as they hustle through quick runs from every Josh Little ball.

All singles, bar a three for Kirton clipped down to backward square.

Canada are adjusting significantly better despite Ireland having the advantage of playing previously on this ground.

I would make this 75-25 in their favour at the moment. It feels like it is slipping away from Ireland.

  19. Can 82-4published at 13 overs

Canada get those boundaries - two of them - as Craig Young returns.

Shreyas Movva plays a shot over mid-wicket, his bottom-hand coming off the bat on the follow-through, before driving through the covers.

Young responds to his figures being spoiled by sending down a searing bouncer that raps Movva's gloves, the batter looking around desperately to see where the ball was going to land - fortunately for him, short of the fielder.

Ireland should get the best of the batting conditions now. You would hope that would bake the surface and make it flatter. Ireland have to consider their net run-rate after losing to India.
