  1. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 200-5

A rare no ball from leg spinner Calvin Harrison and that takes Glamorgan to 200 in the 52nd over.

Just the one wicket (of Ben Kellaway) for Northants this afternoon in a session of play that saw Asa Tribe reach a second first class century.

    He's now 101 not out.

  2. Latest from Lord'spublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 8 September

Derbyshire have just lost another wicket at the home of cricket where Martin Andersson was lbw to Toby Roland-Jones for eight.

They are 166-5 in the 49th over against Middlesex and TRJ now has 3-50 from 13 overs.

  3. 'Surrey are falling away'published at 14:43 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 188-8 v Warwickshire

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Nathan Gilchrist with three in this spell and Surrey are falling away.

If Warwickshire can close out this Surrey innings for somewhere around 200 then they will feel - not withstanding that they'll probably have some challenging batting of their own to do.

They have got an opening, there's no doubt about it.

  4. rain stops play

Rain stops play and tea at New Roadpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 158-8 v Notts

Ben Allison is hurried straight away but gets some bat on a quick length ball from Tongue and gets away for a single.

Gareth Roderick sways out of the way of a bouncer... and it's raining.

There are brighter skies to the south of the ground though so it should be a short delay - after an early tea interval.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 8 September

Bedingham run out (Porter) 0 - Essex v Durham 189-3

    Sorry Durham fans.

David Bedingham departs for a golden duck, run-out in cringeworthy fashion, almost reaching Ben McKinney at the non-striker's end for a fistbump before turning tail and returning to his crease, only to be beaten there by Jamie Porter's throw from mid-on.

He just looked desperate to get off strike from the first ball, there was never a run there and he never even looked at McKinney.

Colin Ackermann will seek to steady the Durham ship at five.

  6. 'The delivery Foxes were looking for'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 8 September

    Leics v Glos 182-4

    Ed Seabourne
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You'd have to say that was on the cards given the level of frustration from Miles Hammond and the trap that was set for him.

That was always the delivery Leicestershire were looking for.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 8 September

    Lawes c Young b Gilchrist 0 - Surrey 188-8 v Warwickshire

    Surrey are crumbling.

Will Young takes a third catch in the slips as Tom Lawes takes a bit slash at a wide one from Nathan Gilchrist and edges to third slip for a five ball duck.

That's 84-7 since just before lunch.

  8. wicket

WICKET Taylor c Abbas b Tongue 40published at 14:37 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 157-8 v Notts

Tom Taylor has played a very useful hand... but now he's gone.

He tries to take on the pace of Josh Tongue who intentionally bangs the ball in short.

Taylor hooks to Muhammad Abbas at mid on. He goes for 40 off 47 balls and Ben Allison will bat next.

  9. 'Bears have done well'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 187-7 v Warwickshire

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Warwickshire really have done well. What we don't yet know and I'm not yet clear about is how good this score is because the pitch has done something.

The bowling has been pretty good on the whole and you'd expect Surrey to bowl as well as this too.

  10. wicket

WICKET Hammond c van Beek b Hull 50published at 49.4 overs

    Leics v Glos 182-4

Logan van Beek takes a catchImage source, Rex Features

That's a bit of a freebie for Leicestershire.

Josh Hull tries out Miles Hammond with a short one and he pulls it to Logan van Beek at square leg.

Hull now has 3-42 - and despite seven no-balls, he is doing a very valuable job for his side.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 8 September

    Lees lbw b Harmer 94 - Essex v Durham 189-2

Alex Lees goes for 94. Huge breakthrough for Simon Harmer, the 134-run stand with Ben McKinney is broken.

Lees comes forward in defence to Harmer who gets one to drift and turn away from the bat and thump the pad infront.

Up goes the finger, and up goes the Essex mood.

Though David Bedingham strides out at number four, which might not improve their mood.

  12. 100 runs

100 for Asa Tribepublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 193-5

Leg spinner Calvin Harrison bowls to Asa Tribe on 96 with one slip and a short cover in place.

He's been in the 90s for a while now and is in no mood to rush as he pushes forward to defend - and now a short leg comes in.

    Tribe goes down the track!

He gets a bottom edge past keeper and slip and the ball runs away for four!

Not his best shot but a fine innings nonetheless.

His second century this season (and in his career) in a very good season in which he has also made four half centuries at an average creeping past 50.

150 balls with 15 fours and a six.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 8 September

    Atkinson c Hain b Hannon-Dalby 6 - Surrey 187-7 v Warwickshire

Lovely shot from Ryan Patel, who is on it today, driving Ollie Hannon-Dalby through the covers for four runs to move to 30 from 33 balls.

Good recovery from OHD who gets one to shape away from Gus Atkinson later in the over, finds the edge and just carries to Sam Hain at slip.

Surrey seven down and we're not even midway through the day...

  14. 50 runs

for Miles Hammondpublished at 49 overs

    Leics v Glos 182-3

Miles Hammond has been very consistent for Gloucestershire in the 2025 Championship and a single into the covers off Ian Holland takes him to his eighth 50, this one taking 109 balls.

The challenge for him now is to convert it into a three-figure score for the first time this season.

  15. wicket

    WICKET Guest b Roland-Jones 4published at 44.5 overs

    MIddx v Derbys 152-4

Two in quick succession for Toby Roland-Jones and that is a peach.

The ball leaves Brooke Guest off the pitch and hits middle and off - it may have kept a little low too.

Middlesex suddenly with the upper hand at Lord's.

  16. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 182-6 v Warwickshire

Test centurion Gus Atkinson produces a lovely uppish drive off Nathan Gilchrist, causing Ryan Patel to take evasive action at the opposite crease as the ball flies away for four.

Seven off the over and Surrey just starting to put together a bit of momentum... for the seventh time today, in fairness.

  17. wicket

    WICKET Prest c Hughes b Hudson-Prentice 6published at 14:24 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 119-5

Awkward. A leg side ball from Fynn Hudson-Prentice that sticks in the pitch a bit as Tom Prest miscues a clip to Dan Hughes at mid wicket.

Hampshire in the soup here as South African all-rounder (on Hampshire debut) joins Ben Brown in the middle.

  18. 6 runs

for Ben McKinneypublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 181-1

    This is huge.

Ben McKinney is a massive but spins in his toes like a prima ballerina as he pulls a loose ball from Doug Bracewell away high over the fine leg boundary and into the stand.

He moves to 68* now he has a maximum to go with his 13 fours.

Alex Lees has 88* at the other end as his side eye batting points before the close this evening.

  19. Roderick and Taylor guide Pears to 150published at 14:22 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 150-7 v Notts

Tom Taylor takes the Pears to 150 in the 43rd over with a careful jab to the leg side off a short ball from Josh Tongue.

    Quite the recovery from 86-7.

Now what is a par score from here?

  20. wicket

    WICKET Came c Cracknell b Roland-Jones 64published at 43 overs

    Middx v Derbys 144-3

    What a ball that was.

An inswinger from TRJ takes the inside edge of Harry Came's bat as he tries to drive and Joe Crackell dives to his left to take it in both hands.
