    Surrey 380-8 v Durham 262

New batter Conor McKerr is not hanging around it's fair to say.

He clubs his first ball from Callum Parkinson for four and then goes aggressive again and pics up three from the next.

James Minto's 12th over goes for a couple of singles as Surrey close in on a fourth batting point.

    Ten overs left today.

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 272-9

A fourth for Liam Dawson as he traps Amar Virdi lbw.

Gareth Roderick and Ethan Brookes put on 196 for the sixth wicket and to be honest it looked like Hampshire had run out of steam and ideas.

But since Roderick departed, the Pears are 4-15.

    Maiden.

Jacob Duffy and Ben Lord had put the brakes on Kent's early momentum a little, but the visitors are still looking for a dent in the second innings.

    Lancs 140 & 269-7 v Somerset 146

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 266-8

Liam Dawson has a third as Logan van Beek departs and all of a sudden Hampshire have taken three wickets in six overs.

What a huge difference getting rid of Roderick has made to this game.

As well the Pears pair batted, the visitors are still a long, long way behind Hampshire.

Take a bow, Ryan Patel - that was some innings.

Patel plays across the line to Callum Parkinson and picks out Bas de Leede on the deep square leg boundary.

    Surrey 371-7 v Durham 262

Ryan Patel welcomes James Minto back into the attack by launching his first ball for a massive six.

The 16-year-old tries a short ball first up and Patel is on to it in a flash, hooking it for a maximum.

Three further singles complete the over. Patel is up to 134 and the eighth-wicket partnership to 92.

Minto will have easier days than this in his first-class career.

  8. Yorkies off to flierpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glam 239 v Yorks 361 & 56-0

Yorkshire's openers, Adam Lyth and Finlay Bean, have made a brisk start to their second innings scuttling along at a shade under five an over.

It is clear the pair are not feeling any particular pressure given the lead is up to 178 but the home attack are offering way too many gifts either side of the stumps

The top of off might be worth aiming at. Just a suggestion to throw in the mix.

    Luke WellsImage source, Rex Features

Two successive cover drives for four off Brett Randell take Luke Wells to 50 from 98 balls.

It's been an excellent innings for his side and having looked down and out on day one, thoughts in the home dressing room may now be turning towards winning this match.

He adds a third four for good measure from an expensive over for Somerset. The lead is now 262.

  10. Surrey first innings lead moves into three figurespublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 362-7 v Durham 262

Ryan Patel turns Bas de Leede into the onside for a couple as Surrey continue to milk the new ball bowling.

A single brings Tom Lawes on to strike who almost nibbles at a ball outside off stump but thinks better of it.

De Leede oversteps to gift the champions more extras.

Callum Parkinson continues and Patel looks to drive but settles for a single which takes the lead to 100 exactly.

    This looks hugely decisive.

  11. wicket

WICKET Brookes c Fuller b Dawson 132published at 17:07 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 263-7

A fine innings comes to an end.

Ethan Brookes has batted superbly today and has a maiden first-class century to take away from the match.

He has played a lot of sweep shots in that 132 but it is the shot that ultimately does for him as he tops it and sends it to James Fuller on the boundary who takes a deep breath before taking the important catch.

So, very quickly after Hampshire broke the 196-run partnership, both men responsible for it are back in the pavilion.

    Kent 225 and 32-0 f/o v Notts 433

Rehan Ahmed is dismissedImage source, Rex Features

If there's anyone in the Leicestershire side who knows about leg-spin bowling, it should be Rehan Ahmed.

But just like Ian Holland before him, he is beaten by Yuzi Chahal's turn and Lewis McManus does the rest.

Northants well on course for a second successive win after failing to register a single victory in their first 11 games.

    That's the 67th half-century of Dent's career, and came in 126 balls.

A Compton single then a textbook cover drive from Muyeye. Shot!!

Gareth Roderick goes six short of a ton!

It brings an end to a 196-run partnership between the opener and Ethan Brookes (128*).

Felix Organ takes the all-important scalp shortly after he conceded his 100th run in just 14 overs.

What a relief for him and for Hampshire!

  18. 250 up for Worcestershirepublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 250-5

This is a very impressive partnership for the Pears.

It looked like they were going to get skittled early in the innings but Roderick and Brookes have put in an incredible effort.

  19. Surrey earn third batting pointpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 350-7 v Durham 262

Surrey are rattling along after tea as they leave Durham's first innings total further and further behind.

The last 11 runs have yielded 62 runs since the new ball was taken.

And the lead moves closer to three figures.

The Durham attack looks to be running out of steam.
