    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 179-5

Worcestershire looked in big trouble in the early stages of the innings as Mohammad Abbas reduced them to 30-4 but the counter attacking partnership of Gareth Roderick and Ethan Brookes has given the Pears a route back into the match.

Brookes (76*) and Roderick (72*) have put on 118 together and Hampshire will want to remove one of them very quickly after the interval.

Joey Evison plays and misses at a Lyndon James ball which moves away a little off the seam.

But there it is. He turns the next ball into the legside and takes a couple which brings up his 10th first-class half-century.

He came in with Kent subsiding and has dug in well, bringing up the landmark off his 73rd ball against his former side.

  3. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glos 109 & 53-1 v Sussex 311

Gloucestershire get to tea with one loss - Joe Phillips going lbw to Jaydev Unadkat - and Chris Dent will continue after tea with Ollie Price.

    The hosts trail by 149.

Earlier on this afternoon we saw John Simpson and Jack Carson help Sussex to 311 all out, as Zafar Gohar bowled excellently for the hosts - taking 6-76.

  4. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 212-6 v Somerset 146

Painful for Somerset. Lewis Gregory angles one outside leg stump, James Rew can't gather and it runs away for four byes.

The next is a bouncer heading in the same wayward direction, but Rew gets a glove to it and keeps it to one bye.

  5. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 272-6 v Durham 262

Callum Parkinson almost has another as Ryan Patel misses a straight ball, but gets a vital inside edges on to his pads. Otherwise he's a goner!

Chemar Holder will have the last crack before tea.

A Ryan Patel single takes him to 84 and a leg bye follows before the session ends with the luckless Holder beating Patel with pace and movement.

A good end to a pivotal session in which Durham had threatened to take a first innings lead.

They may well have done so had several chances been held, with Patel (84) dropped on 70.

Jordan Clark is unbeaten on 17 and Surrey take a seven-run lead into tea.

  6. wicket

WICKET Jordan lbw b Ahmedpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 182-7 v Notts 433

Farhan Ahmed has a second wicket.

Akeem Jordan does not look happy with the lbw decision, but it looked pretty plum.

Ahmed comes around the wicket to Jordan and sends down a ball which turns sharply and straightens enough to hit the front pad.

A 63-run stand with Joey Evison comes to an end and Matt Parkinson is in.

    Wicket maiden.

  7. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 206-6 v Somerset 146

Luke Wells pushes the ball past the left hand of silly mid-off and Jack Leach has to field off his own bowling, allowing the Lancashire batter a single. The lead is exactly 200.

  8. Surrey move into the leadpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 265-6 v Durham 262

The hosts beginning to motor before tea and back-to-back boundaries for Jordan Clark off Callum Parkinson have moved them beyond Durham's first innings total.

Durham have bowled well but shelled five chances.

What do they say about catches and matches?

  9. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 255-6 v Durham 262

    Oh no, no, no.

Bas de Leede sets the trap for Ryan Patel to hook a short ball and he does just that.

It goes straight to sub fielder Stanley McAlindon on the deep square leg boundary who makes a hash of the catch.

The ball bursts through his hands and goes for six.

    Ground open up!

To add insult to injury Patel then drives the next ball through the covers for four.

That's a first batting point for Surrey.

    First breakthrough for Sussex!

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 163-5

And there is the 100 partnership for Gareth Roderick and Ethan Brookes for Worcestershire.

Mohammad Abbas started with a rip roaring spell of bowling which reduced the Pears to 30-4 and then Liam Dawson's wicket left them on 61-5.

But since then they have counter attacked very well with Roderick and Brookes at the helm.

  13. Tea at Derbypublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 18 September

    Derbys 178 v Middx 326-8

Josh de Caires has batted nicely but may be running out of partners as Middlesex look to secure a third batting point.

The visitors lead by 153 but need another 24 to bag that extra point.

  14. wicket

WICKET Budinger b White 0published at 15:16 British Summer Time 18 September

    Northants383 v Leics 203 & 1-1

Parkinson's 19 overs have gone for a miserly 28 runs.

Five overs to tea - and nine to the new ball.

  16. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 244-6 v Durham 262

Bas de Leede strays down the legside and Ryan Patel tucks it down to fine leg for his seventh boundary.

And when de Leede offers a bit of width, Patel hammers it off the back foot through the offside for a glorious four.

The stroke moves him into the 70s and reduces the Durham lead to 18.

    Kent 172-6 v Notts 433

Akeem Jordan collects his third boundary and then picks up another two off Farhan Ahmed.

Almost disaster as Jordan turns one into the legside and Joey Evison sets off for a single.

He's almost halfway down the track when he's turned back and narrowly makes his ground as the throw comes in to the bowler's end.

Evison then clips Lyndon James for four to bring up the 50 partnership from a brisk 70 balls.
