    Surrey 214-5 v Durham 262

James Minto strays down leg and Ryan Patel swivels, helping it on its way to the fine leg boundary for four.

WICKET Hurst c Overton b Randell 19published at 14:39 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 164-5 v Somerset 146

He's tried that flashing drive on a few occasions and got away it. Not this time.

Matty Hurst departs as Craig Overton takes the catch by his right hip at second slip.

Two wickets in the session now for Brett Randell.

Luke Wells is the new batter - 17 years the senior of partner Rocky Flintoff.

  3. Pears playing Organ nicelypublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 116-5

Felix Organ has taken a bit of a pounding as Worcestershire counter attack at Southampton.

He's gone for 34 for no wickets in just three overs.

Gareth Roderick and Ethan Brookes are helping themselves to plenty of boundaries are their partnership is now worth 55.

  4. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 135-6 v Notts 433

Joey Evison wafts at an effort ball from Jacob Duffy and it flies through to wicketkeeper Dan Schadendorf.

    Not a million miles away.

Farhan Ahmed has caused a few headaches in his first couple of overs, but Evison is down the track and plants him down the ground with a lovely straight drive to go to 24.

Another big shout as the 16-year-old hits Evison's pad as he looks to sweep. But it was going down leg and Kent have a leg bye.

  5. Ouch!published at 14:31 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 161-4 v Somerset 146

Rocky Flintoff wears a painful one on the glove from Kasey Aldridge.

He drops his bat but quickly picks it up and is ready to go again.

Aldridge overpitches and Flintoff puts it away through mid-on for four.

    Good reply.

  6. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 209-5 v Durham 262

Callum Parkinson twirls through another over which costs a Ryan Patel single.

James Minto replaces the luckless Chemar Holder.

Singles from the first two balls of the 16-year-old's seventh over before Patel pulls him for one more to go to 42.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Gareth Roderickpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 103-5

A fourth half-century of the season for the Pears opener.

He's batted very well considering how many partners he's lost cheaply today.

His 50 has come from 82 balls and included eight fours and has helped the visitors go past 100 runs.

  8. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 97-5

Liam Dawson has gone up for three lbw appeals in two overs - all of which have been greeted with a shaking head by the umpire.

Trying to put a bit of pressure in the umpire to give it a nod soon perhaps.

  9. Durham bowlers doing wellpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 204-5 v Durham 262

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham's bowling has been excellent today - in comparison to the poor show we saw for the majority of 12 overs last night, when they conceded 52 runs.

Bas De Leede has been the pick of them, with a career-best haul of 4-51. He's led from the front but had plenty of support from the rest of the attack too.

He had Dom Sibley caught at first slip this morning for 26, before he also saw off Dan Lawrence for six and Ben Foakes for 17. The yorker he produced to trap Sam Curran, LBW for eight, was a pearler.

West Indian Chemar Holder has taken the other wicket to fall. He bowled Rory Burns for 55. He should have had Tom Curran twice though! On both occasions he edged to David Bedingham at first slip and was dropped.

At the moment things appear evenly poised in the sunshine of The Oval.

    Warks 78 & 114 v Essex 232

    Jamie PorterImage source, Rex Features

Jamie Porter has a sixth wicket, Chris Rushworth skying one to mid off where Tom Westley takes the catch.

Essex have wrapped things up inside five sessions.

Aside from a brief partnership between Michael Burgess and Danny Briggs the visitors met precious little resistance from their oh-so-generous hosts.

Warwickshire have a bit of thinking to do now particularly with yet another bowling casualty in Chris Rushworth who looks unlikely to be fit for the final round.

  11. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 205-5 v Durham 262

Tom Curran has somehow reached 19, off 44 balls, as he resumes battle with Chemar Holder who has twice found his edge, but seen both chances dropped.

Holder ends another probing over by beating Curran's outside edge once again.

The West Indies quick will bowl much worse than this and take more wickets. Today his luck seems to be well and truly out.

    Surrey trail by 57.

  12. 'Heart-warming to watch Lancashire youngsters'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 154-4 v Somerset 146

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire commentator

In the middle of a relegation fight with Lancashire's Division One status potentially resting on the outcome of today, it's actually quite heart-warming to watch the club's younger players being tasked with the opportunity and challenge of trying to build a lead to try in what might turn into a must-win match.

Whether Lancashire survive this season or not, Harry Singh, Rocky Flintoff, Matty Hurst, Tom Aspinwall and Josh Boyden are all young players who have been presented with a chance in the first team this season.

  13. wicket

WICKET: Ingram b Bess 82published at 14:23 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glam 172-8 v Yorks 361

Tried to make room and cut it but undone by one pushed through by Dom Bess. Off stump flattened at the end of a decent innings from the big South African.

  14. 150 runs

up for Lancashirepublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 154-4 v Somerset 146

Matty Hurst rides the bounce well and steers Kasey Aldridge down to third man for four runs.

Aldridge tries a fuller length and it's four more to Hurst, but this one was an unconvincing miscue on the drive.

The next whistles just past the outside edge.

    Lancashire lead by 148.

  15. wicket

WICKET: Burgess c Walter b Porter 28published at 14:17 British Summer Time 18 September

    Warks 78 & 110-9 v Essex 232

Five for Jamie Porter (5-36) as Michael Burgess holes out to Paul Walter on the long on boundary.

Only a matter of time now with Chris Rushworth limping to the middle following his hamstring injury, captain Rob Yates running for him.

Warwickshire still trail by 44 runs.

  16. wicket

WICKET Finch c Haynes b Ahmed 6published at 14:17 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 119-6 v Notts 433

Farhan Ahmed into the attack and his remarkable start to first-class cricket continues!

He steps in for his first bowl of the match and gets Harry Finch first ball!

The Kent batter can count himself a tad unlucky.

Looking to flick into the leg side he gets a good piece of it, but Jack Haynes gets a hand to the ball at short leg and then takes the rebound.

    Akeem Jordan is in.

  17. 200 runs

200 up for Surreypublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 200-5 v Durham 262

They've had a few slices of luck, to put it mildly, but three singles off Callum Parkinson's 11th over take Surrey to 200.

Surrey now trail by 62, but the Durham attack is really keeping the title chasers honest.

  18. wicket

WICKET Broad c Patel b Holland 6published at 14:13 British Summer Time 18 September

    Northants 353-7 v Leics 203

Having been 340-4, Northants have lost their way a little bit.

Two wickets in successive overs for Ian Holland as Justin Broad is well caught at first slip.

Ben Sanderson comes out to join Lewis McManus.

  19. wicket

WICKET Miles b Porter 0published at 14:12 British Summer Time 18 September

    Warks 78 & 109-8 v Essex 232

Craig Miles avoids a king pair but cannot escape a common or garden one, losing his wicket to Jamie Porter for a two ball duck to go with his golden in the first innings.

  20. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 196-5 v Durham 262

Tom Curran gets a third life!

The unfortunate Chemar Holder suffers again as David Bedingham spurns another chance at first slip.

This time Bedingham was unsighted as wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson dives to his right to grab a big top edge and hen pulls out. Bedingham sees it late and can only palm it iver his head for four more.

The West Indies quick then gets some big swing to Ryan Patel who is cut in half. The ball whizzes narrowly over off stump and away for four byes.

    How's your luck?
