"Kasey Aldridge is young and strong and fit and he needs to carry a pretty big share of the burden (for Somerset). He needs to keep running in and hitting the pitch hard."

Make that a six-wicket haul for Zafar Gohar.

Great stuff from the Gloucestershire bowler who finishes with 6-76 and has taken all of the Sussex wickets to fall today.

But the partnership between Jack Carson (71) and John Simpson (61) has given Sussex a first innings lead of 202 runs.

  5. Five-wicket haul for Zafar Goharpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glos 109 v Sussex 303-9

He's taken all five Sussex wickets to fall today and his latest is the big one of in-form John Simpson, who departs for a fine 61.

Jayden Unadkat is the last man in for Sussex.

  6. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Schadendorf b Lord 26published at 14:01 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 96-5 v Notts 433

Kent are in a big hole - a phrase repeated ad nauseam this season.

Rob Lord fires in a vicious short ball which Jack Leaning looks to avoid but edges through to Dane Schadendorf who pouches his third catch.

Two wickets in as many overs for Lord and that new contract looks good business for Notts.

    Harry Finch joins Joey Evison.

  7. wicket

WICKET Singh c Rew b Randell 31published at 14:00 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 133-4 v Somerset 146

Harry Singh's long vigil is over.

Brett Randell has his first wicket for Somerset as the young opener feathers a catch to keeper James Rew standing up to the stumps.

Singh faced 141 balls and showed a rock solid defence and an excellent temperament.

Matty Hurst is the new Lancashire batter - they lead by 127.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 92-4 v Notts 433

Joey Evison gets a life on one.

Lyndon James takes the batter's edge and it goes at knee height to McCann at second slip.

But the chance is grassed and Evison runs a single.

  10. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira c Middleton b Dawson 19published at 13:58 British Summer Time 18 September

    Hampshire 462 v Worcs 61-5

A first wicket for Liam Dawson as Brett D'Oliveira gets an inside edge onto his pads and the ball pops up nicely to Fletcha Middleton for a simple catch.

The D'Oliveira/Roderick partnership was threatening to become fruitful for Worcestershire but it's been stopped in its tracks.

    Has this happened before?

Rocky Flintoff and Josh de Caires, sons of Andrew Flintoff and Michael Atherton, both ex-Lancashire and both former England captains, batting simultaneously in different matches.

We'll leave you to investigate further.......

  12. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 18 September

    Surrey 182-5 v Durham 262

Bas de Leede's fine spell ends as Chemar Holder returns.

And the paceman should be celebrating a wicket to the fourth ball as Tom Curran looks to play his shots from the get-go and edges straight to David Bedingham at first slip.

It's a simple catch but bursts through his hands and runs for four.

That's a second drop in the slips this morning after Colin Ackermann shelled a chance this morning.

Curran dropped on five - let's remember that.

  13. wicket

WICKET Zaib lbw Budinger 71published at 13:55 British Summer Time 18 September

    Northants 340-5 v Leics 203

A big moment for Sol Budinger as he claims his first Championship victim.

Saif Zaib put on 131 in 23 overs with James Sales, who remains on 131 not out.

  14. Burgess survivespublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 18 September

    Warks 78 & 99-6 v Essex 232

Prolonged appeal from Sam Cook for lbw against Michael Burgess.

Watching that replay the only thing that has saved him there has been the featheriest of inside edges.

But survive he does as Warwickshire's seventh wicket pairing continue to dig in.

  15. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 18 September

    Lancs 140 & 132-3 v Somerset 146

    Rocky FlintoffImage source, Rex Features

Rocky Flintoff is 'on the walk' and drives Brett Randell away for four past mid-off.

He certainly does offer a full swing of the bat and is now 14 not out with the indefatigable Harry Singh on 30.

  16. wicket

WICKET Foreman b Gohar 2published at 13:52 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glos 109 v Sussex 300-8

Bertie Foreman lasts five balls before Glos danger man Zafar Gohar cleans him up - he has four wickets now - all of the Sussex wickets to fall today.

Ollie Robinson joins proceedings alongside John Simpson as Sussex reach 300.

  17. wicket

WICKET Denly c Shadendorf b Lord 5published at 13:49 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 89-4 v Notts 433

That break in play did no favours for Joe Denly.

After going through the necessary protocols after the ball hit his helmet, the Kent number five goes to the next ball.

Rob Lord gets one to seam away and take the edge of Denly. Dane Schadendorf dives in front of first slip and takes a nice catch.

    Joey Evison joins Jack Leaning.

  18. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 18 September

    Northants 340-4 v Leics 203

    Leicestershire are trying everything.

Sol Budinger has been called up, having bowled only five overs previously in red-ball cricket.

Saif Zaib hits him for four and progresses to 70 not out.

  19. Glamorgan clinging onpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 18 September

    Glam 152-6 v Yorks 361

A little bit of the threat and vim seems to have gone from Yorkshire's attack with Colin Ingram and Mason Crane denying them a seventh wicket.

Ingram is pouncing on anything loose and has rattled along to 70 in 89 balls. Crane is travelling more sedately but is up to 25.

To put it in perspective Glamorgan look one wicket away from doom, are still trailing by 209 and need to make 212 to avoid the follow-on.

  20. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 18 September

    Kent 89-3 v Notts 433

Big partnership you feel for Kent as Joe Denly joins Jack Leaning with the hosts once again right on the backfoot.

Notts quick Rob Lord is on for a first bowl fresh from securing a two-year deal with Notts. He replaces Luke Fletcher.

Lord spears his first ball into Denly's pads, but it's not out. It actually ran up his body and into his helmet so the physio is called on.

After a lengthy stop he's okay to continue.
