As long as Smriti Mandhana is still there, though, and playing shots like this - India will be happy.

  2. drinks break

    Ind 78-1published at 16 overs

Sophie Ecclestone whizzes through another miserly over, just one from it, and India find themselves in a bit of a pickle.

They need to find a way of putting some pressure back on England, which I'm sure they'll be discussing during this drinks' break.

Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean have really grabbed hold of India.

  4. Ind 77-1published at 15 overs

    Oh, a miss for England!

In the previous over from Ecclestone, replays show that one of Harleen Deol's defensive prods had actually clipped the pad first and would've gone on to hit leg stump.

There wasn't even a hint of an appeal from either bowler or keeper.

The England spinners are doing a really good job, they've put on a lot of pressure and you can see India are thinking twice about their shots.

  6. Ind 70-1published at 14 overs

Smriti Mandhana tries to take the attack to Sophie Ecclestone and lofts down the ground but only manages two as the ball plugs in the outfield and is hauled in from just inside the boundary.

A good spell for England here, since the end of the powerplay.

Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers at Lord’s with figures of 3-27, with a far improved bowling performance from the first game. Her length was far more disciplined in the second ODI with just 8% of deliveries overpitched, landing fuller than 4m - in Southampton this figure was up at 27%.

  8. Ind 67-1published at 13 overs

A wicket and just three from Charlie Dean's over.

England need to make the most of this pressure now, and squeeze India. Harleen Deol is the new batter.

They deserve that, they've built up some pressure and it's worked. England finally have their breakthrough. Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean have done a good job so far.

    Gone!

Pratika Rawal's composed innings of 26 from 33 balls comes to an end as she goes back to Dean, but it's too full to cut and she gets a feather into Jones' gloves.

    A much-needed breakthrough for England.

The way Amy Jones went up, there must be something there.

  12. Eng reviewpublished at 12.1 overs

    Is this the breakthrough?

Amy Jones is convinced that Pratika Rawal has nicked one to her. The batter is unmoved, as is the umpire, but England don't hesitate in sending it upstairs.

  13. Ind 64-0published at 12 overs

Lovely over from Ecclestone, finally backed up by some good fielding as Tammy Beaumont's dive at cover saves an almost certain boundary from Pratika Rawal.

The final delivery beats Mandhana's outside edge, so she's got a fair bit out there to work with.

There hasn't been a moment in this game where you'd think England have dominated.

  15. Ind 60-0published at 11 overs

    Misfield number four.

England really do need to sort their ground fielding out. Smriti Mandhana drives nonchalantly out to Lauren Bell at deep cover, and she fumbles a regulation pick-up which allows them to come back for two and keeps the in-form opener on strike.

Still no boundary but eight runs are taken from Dean's second over with relative ease.

India are slightly on top at the moment, they've built a nice platform. England could really do with a wicket.

  17. Ind 52-0published at 10 overs

Pratika Rawal has to dive full-stretch to make her ground after she's called back for a second, having dabbed the ball out to square leg, but it's positive running when the boundaries aren't flowing as easily.

A solid powerplay for India, and both openers have played with impressive control. They've not given England a chance.

Sophie Ecclestone will bowl the last over of the powerplay.

  19. Ind 48-0published at 9 overs

    Weird.

Charlie Dean's first delivery is called a no-ball, which she looks completely baffled by, and rightly so - replays show she bowled it from in line with the stumps, and it's her back foot which has crossed the crease line as she follows through.

The decision is eventually overturned, and just two singles are ticked off the over.

  20. Ind 46-0published at 8 overs

Short again, and pulled by Pratika Rawal, but Filer is lucky that she doesn't time it anywhere near as well as her opening parter.

They run through for two more and England are forced into an early bowling change.

    Here's Charlie Dean.
