India have certainly shown the development that we'd expect to see after the WPL. They look so much more agile and quicker on their feet.

What a player. Mandhana has started beautifully this afternoon.

    Crunched!

My word, Smriti Mandhana. A fraction short from Filer, but the opener is on to it in a flash, belting it to the square leg boundary.

It's going to be a long day for England if they can't get a breakthrough soon.

Oh! Rawal drives in the air but it's perfectly placed between cover and point and flies away for her second boundary of the over.

Too wide from Bell this time, and that's another expensive over. It's been too inconsistent from England's seamers so far.

  6. Ind 33-0published at 6.1 overs

Smriti Mandhana has dominated the strike so far, but Pratika Rawal isn't showing any signs of frustration.

A freebie from Lauren Bell is tickled off the pads for four down to fine leg.

In the previous two ODIs played in Durham, spin bowling has dominated proceedings:

    Pace Avg - 28.44 - Balls per wicket: 35

    Spin Avg - 16.71 - Balls per wicket: 22

England have three first choice spinners to call upon today, but India have picked four front line spinners.

There's been three misfields so far today.

  9. Ind 29-0published at 6 overs

More frustration in the field as Emma Lamb dives over the ball at square leg, and allows Smriti Mandhana two more.

After four dots to start the over, that won't please Lauren Filer at all.

I feel like there isn't one seamer at the moment that is firing, it's about control and this England side really lack it. They struggle to consistently string together six good deliveries.

Much better from Bell, just two from it as she finds a much more consistent length to Mandhana.

Smriti Mandhana has dominated the English pace bowlers when they’ve overpitched across this tour, scoring 57 runs from 47 balls (striking at 117), without being dismissed against deliveries fuller than five metres.

I'm seeing a very flat pitch out there, I hope it doesn't get slower throughout the day.

  14. Ind 25-0published at 4 overs

Lauren Filer's pace is her best asset and she can bowl some fierce bouncers but this isn't one of them.

It's not dug in enough and instead just sits up nicely for Smriti Mandhana to pull for four more.

The runs are flowing far too easily for India at the moment.

  15. Ind 19-0published at 3 overs

Too full again from Bell, and Mandhana drives fluently once more but straight to Dunkley at mid-off.

The India opener is an absolute delight to watch when she gets going.

I can imagine how frustrating this will be for Nat Sciver-Brunt because she's left that cover region open so you've got to bowl to your field. Lauren Bell has absolutely got to tighten that up.

    Make it three!

The best of the lot. Driven perfectly past mid-off, and Lauren Bell is under pressure.

That was a terrible ball, it was a nothing ball, back of the length, all the sting had been taken off it. It was just easy picking for Smriti Mandhana.

  19. Ind 15-0published at 2.2 overs

    Just glorious from Smriti Mandhana.

Back-to-back boundaries off Lauren Bell, both through the covers, with her effortless elegance and timing.

  20. Ind 7-0published at 2 overs

Lauren Filer takes the second over and gets one to jag back and pin Pratika Rawal on the back pad - there's half an appeal but replays show it to be missing leg stump.

A misfield, straight through the legs of Sophia Dunkley at cover, then gifts Rawal two more. That's frustrating - should've been a dot ball.

England's fielding has been poor all series and that isn't a great start.
