  1. 300 runs

300 for Indiapublished at 84 overs

Ind 301-5, trailing by 86 runs

Ravindra Jadeja takes a single off Jofra Archer to bring up India's 300.

The next delivery brings a loud appeal from the bowler, who thinks his yorker has trapped Nitish Kumar Reddy lbw. The umpire says no.

Enlighten me what use is pace and aggression without making the batter play, putting the bouncer at his ribs or threatening the stumps? All I’m hearing is Archer praise but in all truth he’s done very little in the wicket taking ability column

  3. Ind 299-5published at 83 overs

No breakthrough for England so far with the new ball.

Nitish Kumar Reddy picks up a boundary to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Three deliveries with the new ball and it’s nipping all over the place. We haven’t seen that kind of movement with the first new ball in either innings. My theory is without the heavy roller, the pitch is far more lively and therefore the new ball is more dangerous.

  5. Ind 295-5published at 82 overs

Cheers bubble up around Lord's in anticipation of Jofra Archer bowling with the new ball. He prowls around at the top of his run-up.

Ravindra Jadeja flicks his opening delivery fine for four. It's the only scoring shot, although Jadeja did have a single correctly turned down by Nitish Kumar Reddy.

This is the second time Shoaib Bashir has injured his finger attempting a caught and bowled this summer. The other time was against Zimbabwe. In his first over back then, he took a wicket and then six wickets in the second innings.

  7. Ind 291-5published at 81 overs

Brydon Carse bowls the first over after drinks, new ball in hand.

His second delivery kicks a little off the surface, beats the bat of Nitish Kumar Reddy, and a jumping Jamie Smith takes the ball at shoulder height.

Nitish leaves the next four well alone.

Crucial 30 minutes coming up for both teams. Could tip the balance of the result with a couple of wickets or a rapid 40-50 runs.

Very impressed with the way Ravindra Jadeja has batted in this series, he is there in the team for a purpose, he's been sent out earlier as well today and he's done well.

  11. drinks break

    Drinks - Ind 290-5published at 80 overs

    Jadeja 26, Nitish 13

Joe Root, presumably filling Shoaib Bashir's shoes as he continues to receive attention on one of his fingers, rattles through the 80th over.

India are 290-5 and trailing by 97 runs at drinks. The new ball is now available.

  12. Ind 287-5published at 79 overs

    India trail by 100 runs

Ravindra Jadeja takes a single. India trail by 100 runs.

One more over until England can take the new ball.

  13. Ind 286-5published at 78 overs

After taking 21 balls to get off the mark, Nitish Kumar Reddy takes just seven more to cruise into double figures. He reaches 10 with a boundary wide of mid-on.

Off the penultimate ball of the over, Ravindra Jadeja smashes the ball back down the ground. It crashes into the fingers of bowler Shaoib Bashir's (left?) hand and he leaves the field.

Joe Root bowls the final ball of the 78th.

Jofra Archer's fifth and first spells in this innings, clocked at an average speed of 90.3 mph and 89.8 mph respectively, are the two fastest of this series.

  15. Ind 280-5published at 77 overs

Ravindra Jadeja renews India's policy of stealing sneaky singles. It's a good job he's rapid.

Both the teams know the importance of the first innings lead. England will want 50-60 runs lead and India want to get as close as possible to England's total.

  17. Ind 278-5published at 76 overs

That's more like it from Nitish Kumar Reddy. He's denied a boundary by Jofra Archer, who dashes around the rope to pull the ball back, but it's crisply struck through the covers. That will give him confidence.

Ben Stokes keeps putting a leg slip in for Ravindra Jadeja.

England still have some work to do. Jadeja, Reddy and Washington can all bat well. Next few hours is vital for both teams and go a long way to deciding this Test.

Ravindra Jadeja is getting stuck on the crease and not moving well. That is also because he has the tendency to take his right foot across and get bowled or lbw.

  20. Ind 272-5published at 75 overs

Nitish Kumar Reddy is off the mark! He takes a single off the 21st delivery he faces.

Ravindra Jadeja picks up a boundary with an edge through a gaping hole where third slip would have been.
