  1. Ban 66-2published at 13 overs

Michael Bracewell is doing a good job of restricting Bangladesh's batters.

Bangladesh manage just two singles off his latest over.

  2. Ban 64-2published at 12 overs

A mixed over from New Zealand's Will O'Rourke, which ended with that wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Only three runs come from it, but they consist of two wides and a leg bye.

Tawhid Hridoy is the new man in.

That Test-match length where the ball tends to come out at two different paces.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz looking to go over the top and it's another frustrating soft dismissal. The giveaways are the real frustration.

It places a lot more pressure on the captain. Najmul Hossain Shanto needs to be the mainstay in this innings.

    Mehidy Hasan Miraz c Santner b O'Rourke 13 (Ban 64-2)

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will not want to watch that ball back in a hurry.

Will O'Rourke bangs the ball in and the extra bounce catches Miraz out.

It's chipped up to Mitchell Santner at mid-on for the easiset of catches and New Zealand have their second wicket.

  5. Ban 61-1published at 11 overs

Michael Bracewell rattles through that over and just three runs come from it.

The Rawalpindi sun is beaming on the pitch right now, it certainly beats the rainy, wet conditions that are covering large chunks of the UK at present.

It's a good start from Bangladesh. They'll be pleased with this batting effort. The coach, Phil Simmons will have spoken to his batters at great length.

Equally, New Zealand will not want any slip ups. Momentum coming in was generally with them. They'll not want a slip up now.

  7. Ban 58-1published at 10 overs

A seven-run over concludes the first powerplay from Bangladesh's batters.

58-1 is pretty good going, especially considering the struggles they had early on, in being reduced to 35-5, in their opening match against India.

Michael Bracewell made the perfect introduction to his spell with a wicket in his last over.

  8. Ban 56-1published at 9.2 overs

Will O'Rourke's second ball of the day is sent for four by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is wasting no time at all in getting himself set in Rawalpindi.

He's thumped that past the third-man boundary to already move into double figures.

  9. 6 runs

    Ban 51-1published at 9 overs

That's one way to see yourself in!

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has thumped that ball for six, straight over Michael Bracewell's head and for the biggest six we've seen so far today.

Kyle Jamieson is also being replaced by Will O'Rourke.

  10. Ban 45-1published at 8.4 overs

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the man in and almost nicks behind him two balls into his innings.

New Zealand think about it, but opt not to review, and rightly so.

Bringing Michael Bracewell on has paid dividends. He tempted Tanzid Hasan into that leg side.

Tanzid will know he's thrown away a very good start. Bangladesh cannot afford for the domino effect to kick in.

    WICKETpublished at 8.2 overs

    Tanzid c Williamson b Bracewell 24 (Ban 45-1)

The perfect start for Michael Bracewell!

The introduction of spin breaks up this opening partnership for Bangladesh.

Tanzid Hasan took a wild swipe at that and can only pick out Kane Williamson at mid-wicket.

    A breakthrough for New Zealand.

  13. Ban 45-0published at 8 overs

An over of 12 runs there for Bangladesh off Kyle Jamieson, all coming via fours for Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Time for a bit of spin via Michael Bracewell.

For a man who's been out of form this has been a strong start from Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Bangladesh have attacked that leg side. New Zealand may need to shuffle someone - that's where the runs are coming from.

  15. Ban 45-0published at 7.5 overs

Back-to-back fours for the Bangaldesh captain. Najmul Hosain Shanto is finding some joy against Kyle Jamieson.

He first hacks at one that is carved through mid-wicket before pulling a shot flat through square leg, despite not making the cleanest of connections.

    Plenty of encouragement for Bangladesh.

  16. Ban 37-0published at 7.1 overs

Upper-cut for four from Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.

It is stopped before hitting the rope by Devon Conway, but replays show Conway was touching the boundary while making the save.

We have seen Tanzid Hasan try play that shot a few times today.

Bangladesh will look at this as a very good start. Tanzid looked comfortable the other day [against India], and this is a good start.

  18. Ban 33-0published at 7 overs

Nine runs come from the over for Bangladesh, who are growing in confidence now thanks to Tanzid Hasan's power hitting.

It certainly beats how they started against India.

  19. 6 runs

Short and pulled for six from Tanzid Hasan!

It comes high at Tanzid, who pulls that all the way for his second six of the innings.

A short debate over whether it bounced before hitting the sponge, but replays show the ball pitched on the rope.

Kyle Jamieson is a very powerful bowler. He seems to have the measure of the pitch.
