Sri Lanka only managed 196, but even that could have been a heck of a lot worse if it wasn't for Kamindu Mendis.
He produced another classy knock to follow his Old Trafford ton, adding 74 from number seven.

Good pace from Lahiru Kumara, testing Dan Lawrence outside his off stump but the England opener refuses to give in to temptation - so far.
15 minutes to go.
Sri Lanka's batting has let them down across the two Tests so far but they have been so impressive in the field.
Duckett crashes one to cover, looks set for a boundary but Milan Rathnayake leaps full-stretch to prevent a run. Great commitment from the fast bowler, gratefully applauded by Asitha Fernando.
Ben Duckett does well to jam his bat down on one that keeps very low off Lahiru Kumara, before Dan Lawrence slashes a short ball for his first boundary.
Batting last on this pitch isn't going to be easy - let alone when the deficit is already 245...

This is a big half an hour for Dan Lawrence. He has had a couple of starts but not pushed on.
It is not an easy half hour to get through though.
England have been almost flawless today. Poor Joe Root made one of the only genuine mistakes that I can remember.
Lead by 237
Yep, the runs are going to come quickly.
Ben Duckett clips one off his pads for two before pulling the next ball for England's first boundary.

The Sri Lanka bowlers bowled 100 overs in the first innings. They will be tired, they will be sore, but they have to go again. There is no point in feeling sorry for themselves.
Ben Duckett safely defends the first ball from Asitha Fernando, who bowled excellently in the first innings for his five-for.
Well, let's just say Sri Lanka face an uphill task. Perhaps it's more of a mountain.
England have a lead of 231 runs and make no mistake, they'll be looking to add to that rapidly. Rightly, Ollie Pope's side will be brimming with confidence.
It's a very tough ask for Sri Lanka's bowlers. They toiled all day yesterday, another hour this morning, and then only got 55 overs of rest and they all had to bat.
Can't help but feel like Dhananjaya de Silva will be dishing out a few apologies at the end of this Test for his call at the toss.

Matthew Potts was the pick of the bowlers. He bowled very well today. He seems to bowl very well at Lord's.
Three 50s and three 100s in his first five Test matches.
Sri Lanka have got themselves a superb talent in Kamindu Mendis. If the top order could help him out a bit, that'd be great...

The England openers have sprinted off. Unless it's a dummy run...England are batting again.
An excellent bowling performance.

A highly-entertaining knock yet again from Kamindu Mendis.
Kamindu c Woakes b Atkinson 74 (SL 196)
Well, he didn't have much choice. Kamindu Mendis' fine knock comes to an end after an almighty heave to mid-off.
Sri Lanka are bundled out for 196 as Kamindu clearly doesn't trust Asitha Fernando to hang around for very long.
It looks like England are going to bat again, as Ben Duckett and Dan Lawrence sprint off.
Kamindu Mendis has 74 to his name and he's been batting like a dream.
Asitha Fernando has one job and he does just that.
A scampered single, sprinting through after Asitha is hit on the hand by Gus Atkinson.

And it works very well for England because they now get to bowl at the number 11.

Pope waited to see if Olly Stone could get there, realised he couldn't and then took the decision to try and throw the stumps down. Even then he took his time to aim.
Kumara run out (Pope) 0 (SL 195-9)
Gone!
Lahiru Kumara doesn't trouble the scorers but he's done a useful job in hanging about for Kamindu Mendis. However, he's stuck halfway down the pitch after calamitously going for a single, and Ollie Pope destroys the stumps with a cracking throw from point.
One wicket left for England to take.
Kumara run out by 'brilliant' Pope throw

Ollie Pope with the throw! It's a brilliant throw!
