And an immediate run out?!
Direct hit after a mix-up, and Lahiru Kumara is in trouble.
The Ollies - Pope and Stone - await confirmation that they can continue. The good news is that the man is sitting up and talking, which allows the umpire to give the go-ahead.
It's all going on!
The drop, a four and then a six all from Kamindu Mendis as he leads a late surge.
The six was a top-edge that flew over the keeper and there is some concern over a spectator who might've been hit. There's a bit of a delay - we hope everything is all right.
SL 183-8
Cheers Tom - very little time for me to settle into my stint as Joe Root drops a sitter at deep square!
Root, usually stationed at first slip, spills a straightforward chance that goes straight into both hands and out again.
The short ball plan works to Kamindu Mendis but that is the first blemish from England today.
Gus Atkinson has six balls at Lahiru Kumara, but the Sri Lanka No.10 is showing little intent other than to block. He reminds of the guy who faced 137 runs without scoring to draw a club game earlier this month.
Anyway, it is time for me to take a break.
Hopefully Ffion Wynne will bring you some more luck on the wicket front.
Gus Atkinson began the day with a century. Can he end it with two wickets to wrap up this innings?
He is back into the attack.
This is how Kamindu Mendis reached his half-century. A fine knock and a vital one for Sri Lanka's hopes in this match.

And now Kamindu Mendis has copped one right on the inner thigh, or possibly somewhere more painful.
He is fine to continue though.
What a trooper.

He might have top-edged that into his grille. He has been playing the short ball very well.
That is outrageous from Kamindu Mendis.
Olly Stone bangs it in short and Mendis aggressively goes for the pull, sending the ball flying over fine leg and into the Members' Pavilion for six.
He attempts the same shot the following delivery but it skews off the edge and clatters his helmet, with the physios jogging out for a concussion test.
England will return to seam after the drinks break, with Olly Stone thrown the ball.

He is too good to be batting at seven. Sri Lanka have got a strong middle order with a lot of experience, they just haven't fired in this series yet.
I wonder if there is a place for him at number three.

This is his sixth score of 50 plus in just eight Test innings.
He's the fifth player in history to do that while only one player has done it quicker - Sunil Gavaskar took seven innings.
Lahiru Kumara, who is playing a dogged support role, sees off the final ball of the over and the players pause for drinks.
Sri Lanka need 52 runs to survive the follow-on, though I suspect England would not enforce it now anyway. That is largely down to a fine innings under pressure from Kamindu Mendis.

How good is he? He is oozing confidence at the moment, he's so consistent when you consider he's only played five Tests.

Very well played. He's quite a phenomenon, really.
Well played Kamindu Mendis.
He has been head and shoulders above the other Sri Lanka batters and he reaches a well deserved half-century with a four over mid-wicket.
This match would be all but over without his knock.
Rinse and repeat from Kamindu Mendis as he runs a single with a slightly streaky swipe over cover to give Lahiru Kumara two deliveries to face.
Kumara, with five players around the bat, survives.

Kamindu Mendis is dictating the strike a little too easily at the moment.
That's a rotten delivery from Shoaib Bashir, who drags the ball down and Kamindu Mendis helps himself to a four over mid-wicket.
Mendis then gives Lahiru Kumara two deliveries to face this time as the field converges, but Sri Lanka's number 10 survives again.
