Right, that's the first game of the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup wrapped up - take a read of Ffion Wynne's report to see how it played out.

Don't worry though - we'll be back almost immediately for Pakistan v Sri Lanka at 15:00 BST.

    We'll see you there.

  2. 'There were nerves going into this game'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 3 October

Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce: "Obviously, it was the first game and there were some nerves going into it. We have played some brilliant cricket over the last few months and I hope it will come out in the next games in this tournament.

"There was plenty of buzz around the dressing room going into this game and we did not know what to do with those nerves."

On dropped catches: "I think we were a bit sloppy and we had a couple of misfields and overthrows as well. Especially in a tight game like this, that could cost you the game in the end."

  3. 'We tried to play to our strength'published at 14:15 British Summer Time 3 October

Player of the match Ritu Moni of Bangladesh: "It was a slow wicket here today, and I just tried to play to my strength. I tried to bowl with some pace variations and thankfully, it worked for us.

"We have been working really hard for the past one year and we were really prepared going in to this match. This is a very proud moment not just for me, but for the whole team."

  4. Horley the Scottish highlightpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 3 October

Saskia Horley starred with the ball for Scotland, taking 3-13 in the back half of the Bangladesh innings.

She then hit Scotland's first ever World Cup boundary...

Scotland would have looked at this game and seen it as a great opportunity. But in the end, it wasn't meant to be.

Sarah Bryce struck almost half of her side's 103 runs, but the rest of her side failed to fire - the next highest score was 11 for Kathryn Bryce and Ailsa Lister, with no other batter making double figures.

They just hit five fours in the innings, compared to Bangladesh's 10.

Ritu Moni was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, taking 2-15, with four other bowlers claiming one wicket.

Bangladesh have won by 16 runs and get off to a winning start in this tournament. They were really disciplined throughout. They only managed 120 on the board but it proved too much for Scotland to reach.

  8. Bangladesh win by 16 runspublished at 20 overs
    Breaking

The fourth two of the over for Bryce, who carries her bat to finish on 49 from 52.

A superb effort, especially having kept in the first innings, she deserved a fifty.

Delight for Bangladesh, their first win at this tournament since 2014.

That one probably should have been taken...

  10. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 19.5 overs

Bryce gets two more through the covers, then skews one in the air in the same region where the ball is put down.

Should have been taken, but it means little at this stage.

We need sixes. We've not seen one at all today. You just hope that Bryce can hit a six or two and make this game a little bit more interesting than it is at the moment.

  12. Sco 97-7published at 19.3 overs

Bryce knocks Marufa for two down to long-on, but then swings and misses for a dot ball.

More than sixes needed now, as long as Bangladesh keep to their lines then the game is done.

Overall, I think Scotland bowled pretty well. But their fielding let them down; Bangladesh have out-fielded them without a doubt. Scotland needed get to a very good start in that power play and unfortunately, they failed to do so.

  14. Sco 94-7published at 19 overs

Almost another wicket for Nahida, as Abtaha Maqsood spoons her first ball into the air - the bowler can't hold onto the catch.

Scotland lose Fraser, and perhaps hope in this game entirely.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.5 overs

    Fraser c Rabeya b Nahida 2 (Sco 93-7)

    And there goes Fraser.

Nahida sees Bryce put down from her second ball, with Rabeya almost pulling off a spectacular diving catch at long-off.

Three balls later and the pairing combine to dismiss Katherine Fraser, a simpler chance as the Scotland batter tries to cleave to the boundary.

Sarah Bryce is one of the fittest players on the English domestic circuit. The fact that she is absolutely exhausted running between the wickets here, and after keeping for 20 overs, shows just how hot and humid these conditions are.

  18. Sco 89-6published at 18 overs

Katherine Fraser clips into mid-wicket for a single from the final ball of the over.

Scotland will need to go incredibly hard from here to reach their target - Sarah Bryce is still there on 38 from 45, but with 15.5 runs needed from each of the final two overs, the task may be beyond her.

Jack goes! She knew immediately as the ball passed her that she was on her way back to the dugout. This mountain is getting ever higher...

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.5 overs

    Jack-Brown st Nigar b Rabeya 9 (Sco 88-6)

    Another stumping for Nigar!

A touch more impetus from Scotland, taking six from the over, including a pair of twos, but Rabeya strikes with her penultimate delivery, beating the bat of Jack-Brown to set-up the stumping.

    Bangladesh are almost home.
