    Horley hits Scotland's first boundary

It's right-arm seamer Marufa Akter opening the bowling for Bangladesh, and she starts well with three dot balls.

She offers a little bit of width with her fourth, and Scotland opener Saskia Horley carves her through the covers for four.

A couple of leg-side wides follow, before Marufa tightens her line and closes with two more dots.

Scotland need to go out there all guns firing and be smart with their choices. They should definitely not be slowing down to the pace of the innings. If there is any seam in that powerplay, that is when they really need to go for it.

    Thanks Tim.

A fast turnaround here - the players are already back on the pitch in Sharjah.

Not even a chance to grab a sandwich...

Right, I'm going to grab a quick cup of tea.

The erudite Mike Peter is on hand to guide you through the remainder of the innings break and Scotland's response.

    Over to you Mr Peter.

  5. 'We can fight with this total'published at 12:35 British Summer Time

Sobhana Mostary on the Bangladesh innings: "Our target for the total initially was 140 and we were not able to achieve that one. But I think our bowling attack is very good and we believe we can fight with this total. We are confident and we hope to try to win this match."

A frantic finish to the end of Bangladesh's innings. Overall, you'd think Scotland will be fairly happy with that.

They were a little sloppy in the field at times, but skipper Kathryn Bryce pretty much got her tactics spot on and none of the Bangladesh batters really got hold of Scotland's bowling.

Scotland are in with a shout here.

Scotland will be really thrilled with that performance. Bangladesh, on the other hand, were desperate to make a statement in this opening match, but they fell maybe 20 or 30 runs short here. I think we could see Scotland take this match and we could see a big upset in the first match of this World Cup.

  8. Bangladesh post 119-7published at 20 overs

Rabeya Khan scrambles a single off the final ball to get another run on the board Bangladesh.

Scotland, in their first ever women's World Cup match, are set 120 for victory.

I think Nigar Sultana will be really disappointed with that. She had to do something in the end after putting herself to bat in a position lower than she should have been.

Katherine Bryce makes no mistake at long-off four balls later, though.

Nigar Sultana goes downtown to Saskia Horley and the Scotland skipper confidently holds the catch.

Substitute fielder Megan McColl has put down one that should have been taken 100 times out of 100!

Oh dear. A simple chance spilled by substitute fielder Megan McColl after Nigar Sultana slices Saskia Horley to point.

  13. Ban 112-6published at 19 overs

Kathryn Bryce mixes up her pace well in the penultimate over, but it's fairly profitable one for Bangladesh.

Fahima Khatun scoops one down to fine leg for four, before Nigar Sultana picks up three off the final ball of the over as Scotland miss a run out chance.

It is an unconventional dismissal, but a dismissal it is. There's a smile on the face of Sarah Bryce behind the stumps who probably should have taken it cleanly, but didn't. It doesn't matter as the ball just rolled down and onto the stumps.

That's the 100 up for Bangladesh and now it's about how much more they can get. I think another 20 runs from here will make it a really good game.

Ritu Moni has a swipe at a delivery from Saskia Horley, misses, and the ball rebounds back off the wicketkeeping pads of Sarah Bryce and dislodges the bails.

The TV reviews show Ritu was on the line.

A chaotic over from Saskia Horley as we have a boundary from Ritu Moni off her first ball, a run out chance missed by Lorna Jack-Brown and now a potential stumping for Sarah Bryce.

    It's been sent upstairs.

There are celebrations for those who have come here in good numbers to support Scotland. Shorna Akter departs and Bangladesh are five down.

Scotland are squeezing Bangladesh superbly here as Saskia Horley bags a wicket with her first ball.

Shorna Akter slog sweeps Horley's first ball and top edges it high in the air and Priyanaz Chatterji safely claims the catch.

Horley then does a little celebratory jig.

It's a bit different from Dhaka where the opening game was due to be held before the switch because of civil unrest in Bangladesh.
