Shathi Rani and Sobhana Mostary bristle with attacking intent to Katherine Fraser but she bowls nicely to her field to ensure she does not leak any boundaries. Six runs off the over.

It's warm so the teams take a quick drinks break.

It was some good fielding there from my former teammate Darcey Carter who did well to get to the ball, but almost got too much of a hand on it and ended up pushing it past Olivia Bell.

  3. Ban 49-1published at 9 overs

Abtaha Maqsood concedes a boundary after Sobhana Mostary swivels and whips the ball square for four, despite a brave diving effort by the boundary rider Darcey Carter.

    A historic moment.

I think this contest is evenly poised at the moment. I've been impressed by what I have seen from Bangladesh's batters so far, but this one is right in the balance.

  6. Ban 42-1published at 8 overs

Bangladesh's batters swap their helmets for caps as Scotland persist with spin, this time in the form of Katherine Fraser.

Shathi Rani's eyes light up to her first delivery and she skips down the pitch and hits it high into the air straight down the ground. Scotland's fielders at mid-on and mid-off scuttle sideways but neither can get there in time as the ball plugs.

  7. Ban 38-1published at 7 overs

Scotland spinner Abtaha Maqsood into the attack and she begins with a super over.

Maqsood tosses up a few tempters, holds the ball back, and varies her pace. Just three singles off the over.

It's the opening match of the Women's T20 World Cup and we'd love to hear your predictions for the tournament?

Will England win it? Will Australia flounder? Who are your dark horses?

To quote a Mitchell and Webb sketch - I bet you reckon something, so why not tell us what you reckon? Let us enjoy the full majesty of your ad hoc reckon.

  9. Ban 35-1published at 6 overs

Cavalier, and a bit haphazard, from Sobhana Mostary who skips down the pitch to Olivia Bell's fourth delivery and hits the ball high into the air towards cow corner.

The field is up, so it lands safe and has just enough on it to dribble over for four. Not entirely convincing but fairly effective.

  10. Ban 27-1published at 5 overs

Shathi Rani has made a positive start for Bangladesh so far.

Of the two opening batters, Murshida Khatun is the one they really wanted to get. Scotland will be very relieved that they have got the player who could have caused a lot of damage later on.

    Murshida c Fraser b K Bryce 12 (Ban 26-1)

Scotland's women have their first World Cup wicket!

Murshida Khatun attempts to hit Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce down the ground but ends up skying it.

Bryce turns, puts her hand over her eyes to shield them from the sun, and nervously watches as Katherine Fraser stations herself under it at mid-on.

Fraser takes it slightly awkwardly above her head but clings on. Scotland's players celebrate.

It's a simple chance for Rachel Slater, of all people. It went quite gently to mid-wicket but it's bounced out of her hands. Murshida Khatun has survived again.

  14. dropped catch

Murshida dropped on 12published at 4 overs

Kathryn Bryce turns to spin fairly early on as Olivia Bell's off-breaks are given a whirl.

Shathi Rani and Murshida Khatun work the ball nicely into the gaps, taking advantage of some sloppy Scotland fielding.

Final ball of the over and Murshida biffs one at Rachel Slater who shells the catch at short mid-wicket. Will that prove costly?

  15. Ban 20-0published at 3 overs

The left-handed Murshida Khatun is not checked by that stumping chance, and thrashes at a short wide one from Rachel Slater and the ball races away to the boundary for four.

Murshida Khatun will be extremely, extremely relieved by that. She's very crucial for Bangladesh here.

Sarah Bryce is quick, but not quite quick enough.

Murshida Khatun managed to scrape her foot back behind the line.

  18. Umpire reviewpublished at 2.3 overs

The bespectacled Murshida Khatun, with a pink grip on her bat, comes forward and stretches to reach one outside of off stump to Rachel Slater.

Sarah Bryce whips off the bails and appeals.

The umpires will take a look to see if Murshida got her foot back behind the line.

Shathi Rani looked far more in control of that shot than she did with the previous one. She seemed to get a lot more bat on it and it was nice use of the wrists and the arms to hit that over the leg side. That's probably where she's more comfortable scoring as well.

  20. Ban 12-0published at 2 overs

Shathi Rani is buzzing with positive intent as Kathryn Bryce's nagging medium pace is brought into the attack.

A bottom-handed biff across the line by Rani to Bryce's second delivery brings Bangladesh's second boundary.
