  1. Ind 45-0published at 8 overs

    Rawal 25, Mandhana 14

Decent recovery from Ayabonga Khaka after the six first ball and it could have been better but for a couple of wides.

This has been a solid start from India, no wickets down and if Smriti Mandhana with starting to find some rhythm at the crease, they look in a good position to go big on a good batting surface.

That is classic Smriti Mandhana! She gave a nod to her partner at the other end of the pitch as if to say, 'yep this is why I am here.'

That's more like it from Smriti Mandhana!

Shimmies down the track to Khaka and she hammers the ball back over the South Africa bowler's head for a big six.

    Where did that come from?!

The frustration at her slow start suddenly seems to get to Smriti Mandhana as she advances to Marizanne Kapp and has a wild hack to leg.

    Swing and a miss!

An inside edge down to fine leg gets Mandhana to the safety of the non-striker's end to try and regroup. Three from the over.

Smriti Mandhana has been calm and composed in these first 15 balls but will be looking for anything loose now.

  6. Ind 33-0published at 6 overs

Very good over from Ayabonga Khaka. The South Africa seamer keeps India to just a single from it with Smriti Mandhana on just four from 16 balls.

A tough start for the India left-hander.

How did this over get away from Marizanne Kapp?

After beating Pratika Rawal with a fine delivery that swings away beautifully just wide of off, she follows up with a fantastic nip-backer. The perfect one-two.

Rawal is pinned in front, there's a huge appeal and just as South Africa are set to review, the third umpire confirms it is a no-ball!

Ball-tracking shows it would have been crashing into leg but instead of a wicket, it's free hit.

Rawal swings that way through square leg for four and then crunches the ball through the covers for four more to end the over.

Pratika Rawal is a real classy player. I wouldn't say she's bully of the cricket ball, just classy.

The outfield has been slow so far but I think it will get quicker throughout the day.

Another handsome shot through the off side from Pratika Rawal to start the over.

An elegant drive and she opens the face of the bat to send the ball through backward point for four.

Good start for India with Rawal, in particular, going well.

It's a game of bluff and double-bluff, Jar, so maybe Davey might get by purely because it was too obvious he'd be a traitor.

He might well be in danger when the traitors were choosing who to murder, though... but then they might keep him in as a red herring?

Anyway, just two from Marizanne Kapp's second over - both leg-side wides.

Is there any point in putting up David Warner for the cricketing traitors? We all know what he’d be…

I think we are seeing the effect of the weather here, South Africa are being slow in the outfield.

Ayabonga Khaka starts from the other end and immediately gets the new ball swinging. After sending down a couple of in-swingers to Pratika Rawal, she gets one to move away from the right-hander and beats the bat.

Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana, who is yet to really get going in this World Cup, gets off the mark with a crisp drive to mid-off for a single.

I think this pitch is going to be a good one to play on today. It's going to be a high-scoring game.

Any umpire would be a fabulous traitor - keeping information from us, keeping us guessing, fooling us into thinking play might happen imminently….

    Top shot from Pratika Rawal.

She stands up tall and punches the ball through the covers off the back four for the second boundary in the over.

Marizanne Kapp hits back with a beauty that snakes past the outside edge as Pratika prods forward.

Both teams will be well up for this game and it is a massive game in this competition.

  19. Ind 4-0published at 0.1 overs

Marizanne Kapp takes the new ball for South Africa, she'll be keen to make the most of conditions that are likely to help the seamers early.

It's a loose one to start, though, sliding down leg and Pratika Rawal helps it on its way to the fine leg boundary.

A gift for the India opener.

Anthems done and just a quick reminder that it is still 50 overs per side despite the start being delayed by an hour.

Any further delay and we would start losing overs but let's hope that doesn't come into it...
