  1. Third batting pointpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 351-6 v Surrey 525

Lyndon James plays one out into the legside and the two runs take Notts past 350.

That is enough for a third batting point, all very useful.

They have just 10 overs to reach 400 and collect a fourth.

(Meanwhile, smaller cheers tell us that Wolves have now scored over the road. You don't need to watch the football, just listen for the different volume of cheering!)

  2. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 31 August

    Somerset 492 & 159-3 v Durham 336

The skies have darkened in this corner of Somerset, which is why the floodlights are on and may also be the reason that Durham's two frontline spinners are sharing the bowling for now.

With that said, both Callum Parkinson and George Drissell have bowled well in any case and Parkinson just sent an absolute beauty whizzing past Tom Banton's outside edge.

Frustrating for the bowler - not least because his next delivery was reverse swept for four by Banton.

  3. End of the 50th over...published at 15:20 British Summer Time 31 August

    Lancashire 200 & 70-4 v Hampshire 389

Luke Wells steers the final ball of Liam Dawson's latest over out into the offside for a single.

The score ticks over to 70 and that marks the end of the 50th over of Lancashire's second innings.

Imagine if Hampshire needed 71 to win off 50 overs in a One-Day Cup game!

  4. wicket

    WICKET Holland c Root b V D Gugten 27published at 15:18 British Summer Time 31 August

    Glamorgan 550-9 dec v Leicestershire 251 & 74-3

Big breakthrough. Ian Holland looks to open the face and guide Timm van der Gugten to the rope past the slips but gets too much on it as his hand flies off the handle and can only offer Billy Root a catch at backward point.

Peter Handscomb joins Ajinkya Rahana in what feels like the last chance for Leicestershire in this game.

It will be Handscomb's final innings for the club this season. What does he have in store as a parting gift?

  5. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira c Elgar b Critchley 51published at 15:17 British Summer Time 31 August

    Essex 404 v Worcs 266 & 216-5

    Big breakthrough.

Matt Critchley has seen some tap but he draws Brett D'Oliveira forward only to scoot one on, catch the outside edge and offer Dean Elgar a routine catch in the bread basket at second slip.

Ethan Brookes is the new man in the middle, joining Adam Hose with their side 82 runs ahead but with just four wickets in hand.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Ryan Higginspublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 31 August

    Yorks 601-6 v Middx 327-4

Ryan Higgins (Middlesex)Image source, Rex Features

Ryan Higgins had been stuck in the 40s for some time, but he takes his opportunity to sweep Adam Lyth for four and post his seventh half-century of the season.

This one's probably been one of his slower efforts at 116 balls, but perhaps among the most valuable if Middlesex succeed in saving the match.

They are still 274 behind Yorkshire, so that's 125 required to avoid the follow-on.

  7. Not a wicket... a goal!published at 15:12 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 347-6 v Surrey 525

There's been a goal across the road from Trent Bridge....

    The home fans are happy!

Meanwhile on the square, new batter Lyndon James plays out a maiden to Will Jacks.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 31 August

    Essex 404 v Worcs 266 & 208-5

    Brett D'OliveiraImage source, Rex Features

    Back-to-back for the skipper.

This partnership is already up to 71 with Adam Hose seemingly happy to play a supporting role.

D'Oliveira has found the rope seven times, tucking into the spin offering from Simon Harmer and Matt Critchley in particular, and reaches his second half-century of the match from 68 deliveries.

The Essex body language is a picture of frustration.

Pears lead by 70, and counting...

  9. wicket

WICKET: Goldsworthy c Robinson b Parkinson 38published at 15:04 British Summer Time 31 August

    Somerset 492 & 136-3 v Durham 336

Six wickets in the match now for Callum Parkinson - and it's well deserved.

The spinner tempts Lewis Goldsworthy to drive a ball that turns away from him and the edge flies into the waiting wicketkeeper's gloves.

Goldsworthy matches his first-innings effort of 38 exactly, so no half-century for him but he has helped to extend Somerset's advantage to almost 300.

  10. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 31 August

    Glamorgan 550-9 dec v Leicestershire 251 & 67-2

Ajinkya Rahane clips Timm van der Gugten away for two boundaries in his latest over to move to 20 from 22 balls.

He joins Ian Holland on that mark, though the opener took 52 balls to reach it.

The deficit is 230 and Glamorgan will be well aware of the threat these two and Peter Handscomb in particular pose them.

  11. Five-wicket haul for Will Jackspublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 337-6 v Surrey

The crowds are gathering just over the road from Trent Bridge as Nottingham Forest prepare to play Wolves in the Premier League and it coincides with a fifth wicket for Will Jacks.

His latest victim is Jack Haynes, who is strangled down the legside with Ben Foakes snaffling the catch.

He trudges off for 68, his sixth score beyond 50, but still no 100 for Notts.

Jacks has 5-98 and has led the Surrey attack in this innings.

  12. Postpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 31 August

    Essex 404 v Worcs 266 & 182-5

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira is showing some intent, breezing along to 34 from 52 balls and joining Adam Hose to haul his side towards a lead of 50.

Feels like a pivotal stand, this. Essex are desperate to break it and still have 25 overs before the second new ball becomes available to Sam Cook and Jamie Porter.

  13. Postpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 31 August

    Sussex 607-8 v Derbyshire 290 & 21-0

So far so good for Derbyshire in their second innings.

Openers Luis Reece and Harry Came, perhaps chastened by what happened in the first innings, are in no hurry to pick up runs and have been taking their time to accumulate, with only 21 runs coming from 13 overs.

  14. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 31 August

    Somerset 492 & 119-2 v Durham 336

Tame fare at Taunton for now, with Durham doing their best to contain the scoring rate and George Drissell is playing his part in that, with figures of 1-19 from his six overs.

Somerset's overall lead is up to 275 now and they have plenty of time yet to hit the accelerator. Lewis Goldsworthy has 32 and Tom Abell 15.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Lancashirepublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 August

    Lancashire 200 & 50-4 v Hampshire 389

Luke Wells pushes one into the offside off Liam Dawson and that single sees Lancashire (finally) reach 50.

It has come off 41.4 overs or exactly 250 balls!

  16. Postpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 323-5 v Surrey 525

South Africa wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne is the new batter for Notts, one of three debutants in this side.

Farhan Ahmed has seven wickets in his first game and Rob Lord grabbed a wicket.

Can Verreynne make a significant contribution too?

He'll like stuff like this as Cam Steel throws in a filthy full toss and that is a gift for four.

He has quickly got to 12 off eight balls.

  17. Second batting point for Middlesexpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 31 August

    Yorks 601-6 dec v Middx 301-4

Middlesex nudge themselves back ahead of Yorkshire in the live table as Ryan Higgins secures their second batting bonus point, reverse sweeping Dom Bess for two fours in quick succession.

With six overs left until the cut-off, it looks a long shot for Middlesex to reach 350 in that time - more importantly, they'll want to prevent Yorkshire from collecting another bowling point.

The visitors trail by exactly 300.

  18. wicket

WICKET McCann c McKerr b Jacks 154published at 14:35 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 302-5 v Surrey 525

    What a shame!

The excitement of going past 150 must be running through Freddie McCann's veins as he tries a big shot off Will Jacks.

He doesn't get all of it and it is well caught a few yards in from the rope at long on.

But the end of a superb innings from the 19-year-old off 268 balls with 17 fours - surely the first of many first-class hundreds.

  19. wicket

WICKET Hill b Leonard 0published at 14:35 British Summer Time 31 August

    Glamorgan 550-9 dec v Leicestershire 251 & 37-2

Ned Leonard celebrates a wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Glamorgan are in rapture.

Ned Leonard ends his first over by getting one to come back a mile to cut Lewis Hill in half and thwack his off stump.

Ajinkya Rahane is the new man. The man with more than 5,000 Test runs for India dropped Colin Ingram yesterday morning, so you could say he owes the Foxes a few here...

  20. 300 runs

Second batting pointpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 31 August

    Notts 302-4 v Surrey 525

Freddie McCann tucks one into the legside from the final ball of Tom Lawes' over.

The three runs take the Notts total past 300 and a second batting point.

All points are vital for the team in eighth in Division One.
