  1. 150 runs

150 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 150-4 (target 185)

Ed Barnard attempts to pull a short ball from Ben Sears and instead top edges over wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow for four and with it the 150 comes up for the visitors.

Northants, chasing 289 to beat leaders Leicestershire, have lost an early wicket. Ricardo Vasconcelos was bowled by Josh Hull to leave them 20-1.

Daniel Bell-Drummond continues on his merry way for Kent at Lord's. The captain has moved onto 174 with his side 369-6 and leading Middlesex by 260.

Gloucestershire might be eyeing a first-innings lead against Lancashire. They're 335-4 and trailing by 115 at Old Trafford with Ollie Price 127 not out.

They've just resumed after a delayed lunch in Cardiff with Derbyshire on 336-9. They still trail Glamorgan by 95.

  3. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 145-4 (target 185)

George Hill is back into the attack for Yorkshire and with his first delivery bowls a full one wide of off stump which is dispatched by a textbook Ed Barnard cover drive.

Warwickshire have really motored in the last few overs and are now only 40 away from their required target as they aim to get this one wrapped up well before tea on day three.

    Dawson b Potts 25 (Hants 237-5, trail by 274) v Durham 511

Matthew Potts bowled well this morning and has continued in the same vein here snaking one through the dangerous Liam Dawson's defence.

Potts now has 3-42 and alarm bells in the Hampshire dressing room will be gently donging with the hosts still trailing by a lot and more importantly the follow-on target still 125 runs away.

  5. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 136-4 (target 185)

A punch through the offside on the back foot earns Ed Barnard four runs before two fabulous drives in consecutive balls, both off the middle of the bat from Zen Malik, sees Warwickshire's required target reduce to 49 runs.

Malik moves on to 33 not out.

  6. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 123-4 (target 185)

A little bit of drizzle is hovering over Headingley at the moment as the umpire looks up at the skies.

Warwickshire continue to slowly tick over picking up a single or two where they can with Ed Barnard and Zen Malik currently looking comfortable at the crease.

    62 needed now.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 4 May

    Vaughan c Snater b Cook 4 (Somerset 145 & 8-2 v Essex 206 & 259)

    Oh that is horrible.

It has been a difficult start to the season for Archie Vaughan with 12, 14, 11, 29, 24, 36, 0, 0, and now 4 and Somerset might need to think again about the opening partnership.

Andy Umeed is batting with zero confidence and now Vaughan, still only 19 remember, has gone again for next to nothing.

That was a really poor shot, half pull but with no conviction and he has skied it to midwicket where Shane Snater takes the catch.

Two down and Toms Abell and Lammonby need to pull them out of this nosedive.

  8. 'Not much sign of seam movement from the River End'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 4-1 (target 321) v Essex

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

There hasn't been much sign of seam movement from the River End really throughout the game.

The seam bowlers have tended to operate from the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion End where there is a sort of a patch on a good length on or just outside the off-stump where the ball sometimes takes off quite sharply.

  9. Postpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 145 & 4-1 v Essex 206 & 259

Somerset are finally off the mark and it has taken until the sixth over to get there.

It was worth the wait as Tom Lammonby leans into a slightly over-pitched delivery from Jamie Porter and sends it racing to the on side rope.

  10. 'The worst possible start for Somerset'published at 13:59 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 145 & 0-1 v Essex 206 & 259

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Well that's the worst possible start for Somerset.

Andy Umeed was made to play at that, it took the outside edge and a good low catch by Simon Harmer.

  11. Postpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 121-4 (target 185)

Ben Coad's final ball of his tenth over beats the edge of Zen Malik's bat and signals a maiden over.

In the following over, Ed Barnard runs a couple down to third man off Jordan Thompson.

64 runs required now for Warwickshire.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 4 May

    Umeed c Harmer b Porter 0 (Somerset 145 & 0-1 v Essex 206 & 259)

Poor start for Somerset as they start out on this unlikely chase.

Andy Umeed fishes outside off stump, offering neither a scoring nor defensive shot and Simon Harmer takes a good low catch two handed to his right.

  13. 'It's brighter than it was before lunch'published at 13:51 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 115-4 (target 185)

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

It is a bit brighter than it is than it was when we went off before lunch.

There is just the odd patch of blue sky that is starting to come over the ground.

  14. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 115-4 (target 185)

Zen Malik drives the ball past a fielder at mid off for four and reduces the required target to 70 runs.

Malik has battled well at the crease for the visitors since facing some very sharp deliveries early on in his innings and moves on to 21 not out.

  15. Back underway at Yorkshirepublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 110-4 (target 185)

We're back underway at Headingley following lunch and with the first ball of the second session, Ed Barnard nudges a single in to the off side.

75 now required for Warwickshire with six wickets remaining.

  16. Postpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 4 May

Play is beginning to resume after lunch.

Chases at Headingley, Grace Road and Taunton are under way.

    Stay right here...

  17. 'Well-balanced contest'published at 13:35 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire v Warwickshire 109-4 (target 185)

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Two wickets in the final quarter-hour of this session confirmed two trends of the match to this point: that it remains a very well-balanced contest, as it has since the first morning; and that this pitch will encourage the seam bowlers, but only if they bowl consistently in threatening areas.

Ben Sears did precisely that, more quickly than any of his colleagues, to dislodge Rob Yates.

The Warwickshire opener had largely followed a sensible policy of blocking and leaving good balls and cuffing away anything less disciplined.

Sears located the length - just short of good - that has caused the most difficulty over the three days, the ball popped slightly, and Joe Root held on at first slip.

In the final over, Jordan Thompson hurried a ball through Dan Mousley’s defence.

Earlier, each over of a long Ben Coad spell offered more threat, building to a nip-backer which levelled Alex Davies’ off and middle stumps, ending the Bears captain’s breezy 31.

Jordan Buckingham was wayward again, save for a ball that found Hamza Shaikh’s outside edge just before a shower held things up briefly.

Zen Malik, on debut, was followed out to the middle by the covers, and left to fret for 10 minutes, but batted with more authority as lunch approached.

If he can bat through the next session as well, his team will probably win.

  18. 'The unlikeliest of victories'published at 13:33 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 0-0 (target 321) v Essex

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

What looked like nasty side injury to Jordan Cox and a subsequent lower order collapse have taken some of the gloss off what was otherwise a good morning for Essex.

Cox hurt himself when, on 98, he went to crash Jack Leach through the off-side, only to completely mishit the shot before struggling through for a single, clutching his left side, in obvious pain.

A reverse sweep did eventually take him to a deserved 100, but he retired hurt one ball later, whereupon the last five wickets fell for just seven runs to Pretorius and Leach.

It leaves Somerset needing 321 to snatch what, on this pitch and against this Essex attack would be the unlikeliest of victories.

  19. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 4 May

    Hants 216-4 (trail by 295 runs) v Durham 511

A late flurry of runs has seen Liam Dawson rush to 20 from just 26 balls and Ben Brown reach lunch on 33.

That has just about been Durham's session with three wickets falling and Hampshire need to be cautious given they are still the best part of 300 behind.

They are still 146 away from avoiding the follow-on which is the next target in their sights.
