    Gloucestershire 390-3 v Leicestershire 402

James Bracey and Ben CharlesworthImage source, Rex Feat

A dominant session for Gloucestershire as Ben Charlesworth and James Bracey extend their fourth-wicket partnership to 233.

Charlesworth goes to tea on 189 after adding a single off Tom Scriven in the final over before the interval.

Bracey has 112 not out - his fourth Championship hundred of the season - and they are now just 12 runs behind with 39 overs left in the day, weather permitting.

    Worcestershire 447 v Kent 171 & 214-4

Tawanda Muyeye has had a spot of luck, and now he's had a helping hand in the field too.. he dabs down into the off-side and scampers a single but the ill-advised shy at the stumps skids away in the sunshine and all the way to the rope.

Muyeye moves to 143 with those five. Harry Finch is on 13 at the other end.

James Hartshorn gets a bit of life out of the pitch to start his next over and beats Muyeye's edge once more - the opener leans in his bat in his crease. That one was unexpected.

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168 & 134-3

Colin Ingram and Kiran Carlson are digging Glamorgan out of the hole they found themselves in.

Ingram takes them halfway to parity with a punchy drive down the ground - although they still trail by 127 runs.

The duo have put on 68 runs together so far, and the longer they are there, the higher the chance of an ulikely draw. A long way until that comes into their thoughts though.

  4. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 125-4

Matt Montgomery pads up to the last over before tea from Callum Parkinson then scampers a single from the last ball

He's on a princely seven, taken from a stately 57 balls, and the partnership with Jack Haynes moves on to 26 from 106 balls.

No prizes for guessing whose session that was.

Durham took three quick wickets after lunch and now need six wickets for victory.

Nottinghamshire need 177 more to make the hosts bat again.

  5. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Worcestershire 447 v Kent 171 & 207-4

Another lapse in concentration from Tawanda Muyeye but he gets away with it again.

He top-edges an attempted hook off James Hartshorn but the ball drops inside the rope and between two fielders at backward deep square - bouncing between them to reach the rope and take him to 138 not out.

Tea cannot come soon enough for the Kent opener who has been in the middle for three-and-a-half hours now.

He has hauled Kent within 69 of making the hosts bat again, however.

  6. The drought is overpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 124-4

It's the slow stuff at both ends as Callum Parkinson switches ends.

    Seven straight maidens.

What's this? Jack Haynes cuts Ashton Turner into the off side and takes two to break a run of 43 successive dot balls.

We go run berserk as Haynes then smacks Turner for the first boundary in what seems forever, but is in fact just shy of 14 overs.

  7. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Warks 337 & 59-2 v Somerset 239

Oh hello Jack Leach, didn't think we'd be seeing you much on this pitch!

Alex Davies is certainly happy to see the spinner as he sweeps the first ball away to the boundary very nicely.

  8. 50 runs

for Tom Alsoppublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Yorks 326 v Sussex 189 & 149-4

Tom Alsop nudges Dan Moriarty square for a single and reaches his second half-century of the game from 125 balls.

Sussex are now 11 runs in front and he has added 65 so far with John Simpson.

  9. 200 runs

200 up for Kentpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Worcestershire 447 v Kent 171 & 200-4

The deficit ticks down to 76 and all the while Tawanda Muyeye is still there it looks certain that Worcestershire will need to bat again in this match.

If Jake Libby had held the chance when the opener was on nought yesterday Kent might have been on the M25 by now. He is now 133* from 152 deliveries.

Tea is set at 16:05 and it looks like there will be a long old final session for Kent to survive, and for the Pears to toil through this evening...

  10. Who needs runs?published at 15:38 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 118-4

Matt Montgomery keeps out another Bas de Leede over and that's a fifth successive maiden.

It's also a ninth maiden in 11 over from which the visitors have added four runs.

You see, you need patience to watch championship cricket.

Aussie batter Ashton Turner replaces Callum Parkinson as Durham look to another slow arm option.

    Guess what? Yep, maiden.

    Soon be tea.

  11. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Yorks 326 v Sussex 189 & 146-4

As the BBC commentators try to remember the names of the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico....err...Karl?) and people examine the goods in the outdoor market next to the ground, Dan Moriarty continues to wheel away for Yorkshire.

This over costs him only a single and it's now spin at both end with Adam Lyth into the attack.

Just nine runs separate the two teams now.

  12. dropped catch

Muyeye dropped on 130published at 15:35 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Worcestershire 447 v Kent 171 & 197-4

Out of character from Tawanda Muyeye as he pushes outside off at one from Ethan Brookes.

Hands on head from Brookes and Gareth Roderick behind the timbers while Muyeye gets himself up and practices withdrawing his bat, just incase it happens again...

It does happen again. Two balls later Muyeye edges towards the diving Rob Jones but he can't quite get his fingers underneath it. Tough chance certainly, but possibly one he'd have wanted to take after four catches in the first innings.

  13. 'Notts can't free the shackles'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 118-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Notts are just absolutely stuck in quicksand here.

They just can't free the shackles.

  14. 100 runs

for James Braceypublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Glos 369-3 v Leics 402

    James BraceyImage source, Rex Features

James Bracey reaches the fourth hundred of what is turning out to be a quite outstanding season from 158 balls with a boundary off Tom Scriven.

It follows scores of 102 against Yorkshire, 144 against Derbyshire and 204 not out against Glamorgan earlier in the summer.

He and Ben Charlesworth - who is 178 not out - have now put on 212 for Gloucestershire's fourth wicket.

  15. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168 & 113-3

Now Colin Ingram is given a second chance!

Pat Brown gets Ingram driving and finds an outside edge.

Unlike Nye Donald's spill a few overs ago, this is very catchable but wicketkeeper Brooke Guest puts it down.

  16. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 118-4

    Blimey, that was close.

Bas de Leede gets one to jag back in significantly and it misses Matt Montgomery's by the proverbial whisker.

The physios then run on as Montgomery is struck on the back of the helmet by a nasty de Leede short ball which followed the batter.

The Dutch international then gets another ball to cut back in, but a little too late to hit off stump.

Super over. Another maiden and the pressure continues to build.

  17. WICKET Rhodes b Davey 16published at 15:25 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Warks 337 & 50-2 v Somerset 239

Will Rhodes won't want to see that again.

Yes, Josh Davey has got the ball to come back a fair amount but that was a massive gap between bat and pad.

The off stump goes for a little holiday about 10 feet behind its home!

  18. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Yorks 326 v Sussex 189 & 139-4

Sussex picking up the scoring rate a bit now.

John Simpson clips Dan Moriarty away for four to end his latest over and Tom Alsop drives Matt Revis through mid-on in the next as he reaches 44 not out.

  19. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Hants v Essex 404-8

Patience is a virtue, and is one that is going to get rewarded by those at Utilita Bowl.

Play will finally get under way for day three at 16:15 BST.

There will be 36 overs, which will be music to the ears of Essex - who want as many overs as possible to take 20 Hampshire wickets.

  20. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 229 & 118-4

A bit of a lull in this match as Matt Montgomery and Jack Haynes look to bed in and blunt Durham's seam-spin attack.

Montgomery easily sways out of the way of another short ball from Bas de Leede, having worn one earlier in the over. Maiden.

That's six runs taken from 33 balls, but Montgomery won't care too much about scoring rates.

Haynes blocks out another rapid six balls from Callum Parkinson.

The partnership remains at 19 from a patient 64 balls.
