    Notts 360 & 7-0 v Somerset 470

There were thoughts that Riley Meredith would play this match, and Craig Overton could have a rest, but with captain Lewis Gregory's groin issue, Overton was rested from Friday's T20 loss at Gloucestershire's Bristol home.

Gregory bowled two wicket-less overs for 20 on Friday night, will his red-ball prowess and the sheer pace of the Aussie quick Meredith be missed on a typically flat Trent Bridge pitch with one very short boundary?

Jake Ball and Craig Overton with little to worry Haseeb Hameed or Ben Slater in the first four overs.

Great fielding from first Tom Lammonby and then Andy Umeed saves a couple of otherwise inevitable boundaries.

For a split second it looked as though Graeme van Buuren was caught behind in the Vishwa Fernando over but the ball is short of Yorkshire keeper and captain Jonny Tattersall diving to his left.

    Was that an inside edge?

A wicket maiden nonetheless, which saw the departure of James Bracey.

    Sussex 442 & 264-5 v Leics 275

Looks like the declaration may not be too far away at Hove.

James Coles is upright in a stand and deliver pose Adam Ant would have been proud of, but doesn't make good enough contact to clear mid-off.

Scott Currie has his second wicket and Coles departs with Sussex 429 in front.

Vishwa Fernando is in the Yorkshire attack and the left-armer strikes with the third ball of his over.

It's not a great ball in truth and has been banged in halfway down the pitch.

Brilliant one-handed catch by a diving Adam Lyth at slip, taking it just off the turf.

That ball flew off the toe end of the bat after a miscued pull.

Gloucestershire skipper Graeme van Buuren is in next.

The visiting team have lost 3-18 in five overs.

    Notts 360 & 6-0 v Somerset 470

One half volley comfortably pushed to the short boundary on this lightning paced outfield by Ben Slater, otherwise five dots to start from Jake Ball against his former colleague.

    Kent 244 & 2-0 v Lancashire 549-9 dec

  8. new ball

New ball taken by the Bearspublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 25 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 253-5

Hampshire pass 250 in the 80th over as Liam Dawson cuts Jacob Bethell square for three.

Warwickshire take the new ball straight away but retain a defensive field for Chris Woakes.

Liam Dawson leaves Woakes outside off and defends a straighter fifth ball down the ground.

The fifth ball pings off an outside edge as Dawson is squared up defending but the ball lands safely to third man for one.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby will bowl from the Pavilion End.

  9. 'Crucial phase of the game for Notts'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 25 June

    Notts 360 & 2-0 v Somerset 470

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

This is going to be a crucial phase of the game for Nottinghamshire.

They really can't afford to have any sort of collapse of any proportions between now and the close today.

  10. 'Kent need senior players to stand up'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 25 June

    Kent 244 v Lancashire 549-9 dec

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

Kent are going to need some senior players to stand up and be counted when they come out and bat.

Lancashire are in a fantastic position.

  11. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 25 June

    Notts 360 & 2-0 v Somerset 470

Haseeb Hameed takes two off the Craig Overton over.

1-63 he took in the first innings, that one being the batter he has just bowled six deliveries at.

One cuts back at the former Lancs opener, the rest fairly comfortably played.

Jake Ball to share the new ball duties back on familiar territory, can he seam one to take the left-handed Ben Slater's outside edge?

  12. Division Two updatepublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 25 June

Another six for Tom Alsop - this time off Josh Hull - and Sussex are 252-4 against Leicestershire, a lead of 419. Alsop is 56 not out.

Emilio Gay and Ricardo Vasconcelos have posted a 50 stand for Northants against Glamorgan. The visitors are now 59-0, with a deficit of 152.

Tight bowling from Derbyshire at the moment at Lord's - but they need it as Middlesex are 98-2 and 192 in front.

  13. wicket

WICKET Jones c Pepper b Porter 9published at 14:31 British Summer Time 25 June

    Essex 339 v Durham 587 & 11-2

Cracking stuff from Jamie Porter as he removes both Durham openers.

An excellent ball in the right area just outside off-stump gets the edge of Michael Jones' bat.

Fighting stuff from Essex, although they trail by 259.

  14. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 25 June

    Yorks 456 v Gloucs 197 & 73-3

Miles Hammond seizes on a bit of width from Jordan Thompson, driving the bowler through wide mid off for four.

James Bracey picks up three at the other end and Hammond has four more driven down the ground off George Hill.

Gloucester remain a long way back but this fifth wicket pair are finding some form.

  15. Notts come out to bat 110 behindpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 25 June

    Notts 0-0 360 v Somerset 470

Stand-in skipper Craig Overton will of course take the new ball, from the Stuart Broad End for starters.

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater to open the batting.

How will the ball behave and how quickly will Somerset turn to spin in this heat?

  16. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 25 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 246-5

Jacob Bethell is into the attack and Liam Dawson pushes into the on side for no run.

Hampshire have changed tack here of late, looking to grind out runs.

James Vince gets a single off Dan Mousley and Dawson nudges a leg side ball behind square for one more.

Vince will keep the strike with a nudge into the on side.

Warwickshire will have to decide when to take the new ball, which is available after the next over.

  17. wicket

LANCASHIRE DECLAREpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 25 June

    Kent 244 v Lancashire 549-9 dec

Tom Bailey goes for another big baseball-style heave and he is well caught in the deep by Matt Parkinson to be out for 12.

Will Williams jogs off with him with last man Nathan Lyon staying in the dressing room, presumably being saved for bowling.

Lancashire declare with a lead of 305 and they will hope to turn the screw on the Kent batting line up.

  18. wicket

WICKET Libby b Clark 28published at 14:23 British Summer Time 25 June

    Worcs 212 & 34-1 v Surrey 490

    An inspired change by Surrey.

After driving Jordan Clark for four, Jake Libby tries to repeat the stroke, but this time drags it into his stumps off the inside edge.

Libby takes the long walk back for the second time today - having been ninth out in Worcestershire's first innings.

The loss of their captain is a huge blow to their hopes of survival.

  19. 'Balderson was looking to move the score alongpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 25 June

    Kent 244 v Lancashire 549-8

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

Geroge Balderson was clearly looking to move the score along.

That was an edge and Harry Finch takes it.

An absolute flurry from a Kent point of view but this is in the (match) context, of course.

  20. Wicket & Five-wicket haul & innings end: Ball lbw 0 b Penningtonpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 25 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 470

Migael Pretorius is left stranded on 95* still a superb innings but he is understandably disconsolate.

He cannot get his second ever first-class century nor his first in England as he runs out of partners.

Jake Ball has let him down, he could not survive one ball from Dillon Pennington who in turn gets his Michelle fifer, 5-96 with another quick, straight delivery.

10 minutes for Pretorius to mourn whilst he slowly gets his bowling boots strapped on, maybe he and Ball himself will unleash their frustration on the Notts top order in a few minutes time.
