This has been completely Hampshire's session.

They've batted the whole way through with Liam Dawson and James Vince putting Hampshire in a really strong position here.

First innings 5-fer fan Kasey Aldridge is at last turned to in the 23rd over.

He bowled really well at the Oval in that fourth day T19 v Surrey, then struggled at Kidderminster so thus fell out of favour for a few weeks, carrying drinks into the T20 Blast as a substitute gun fielder too.

(Josh Davey is taking his turn to run the drinks and ice pops today!)

Just two off Aldridge's first set.

  3. Tea at Lord'spublished at 15:55 25 June

    Middlesex 433 & 151-3 v Derbyshire 339

Derbyshire have done well to keep Middlesex in check during the afternoon session following Sam Robson's flying start before lunch.

The home side have added 86 from 36 overs, but are still in a strong position, 245 runs ahead.

Robson played a loose shot and was caught off Zak Chappell for 67, and Max Holden fell to Luis Reece for 45.

  4. 50 up for Kentpublished at 15:53 25 June

    Kent 244 & 52-2 v Lancashire 549-9 dec

Kent are obviously in survival mode, but they have to pick up runs as well, so Ben Compton is not doing to miss out when Nathan Lyon is short on middle and leg.

Four welcome runs as the total ticks past 50 and he advances to 28.

  5. 'That does keep things interesting'published at 15:51 25 June

    Essex 339 v Durham 587 & 82-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I don't think Durham supporters should get nervous just yet but it (Ollie Robinson's dismissal) does keep things very interesting.

  6. 100 for James Vincepublished at 15:50 25 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 326-5

That's his first century of the season and this innings is putting Hampshire in a great position to try to force a win here at Edgbaston.

He reaches the landmark in 125 balls by driving Will Rhodes through cover for two.

Five fours and three sixes struck in a superb exhibition of controlled aggression.

  7. Akhter launches Besspublished at 15:50 25 June

    Yorks 456 v Gloucs 197 & 141-7

Who doesn't love a bit of tail end flair?

This is a beautifully timed lofted drive that guides the ball high over the head of Dom Bess and three rows back into the stands.

George Hill come on at the other end to replace Conor McKerr and his first ball in the spell is glanced by Akhter through square leg on the front foot for four.

He does have to withdraw his bat to a rising ball back of a length after that but survives the over.

  8. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:50 25 June

    Sussex 442 & 296-9 dec v Leics 275 & 25-0

First job done by Leicestershire, see it through to tea without losing any wickets.

Rishi Patel, who made a 41-ball century in the T20 Blast last Friday, hits three fours in the final over of the session, bowled by Sean Hunt and is 16 not out.

Their target is 464 after Sussex declared on 296-6, with nightwatcher Hunt making 65 and Tom Alsop 81 not out.

  9. Postpublished at 15:49 25 June

    Notts 360 & 63-0 v Somerset 470

Jack Leach has started to get a little purchase and turn in recent overs, the ball only 21 overs old now remember.

His eighth over on the trot coming right up, only one maiden in there thus far though.

(Somerset only have three maidens out of the first 21 overs).

Three runs per over currently for Notts, no rush, but they look comfortable enough.

  10. Tea at New Roadpublished at 15:47 25 June

    Worcs 212 & 115-1 v Surrey 490

Kashif Ali appears to be growing in confidence at New Road and deftly nudges James Taylor wide of slip for four in the final over of the afternoon session.

Ali is 46 not out at tea, and Gareth Roderick has 40, the pair having come together when Jake Libby was bowled by Jordan Clark for 28, with the score on 33.

You would say that Surrey are still big favourites to win this game - Worcestershire still trail by 163 - but hopes of getting the job done with a day to spare now appear remote.

  11. Postpublished at 15:46 25 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 326-5

Full toss from Will Rhodes and Liam Dawson punches that ball through mid off for four runs.

Nine runs come off that over and a sixth wicket feels a distant possibility at the moment.

  12. Postpublished at 15:43 25 June

    Yorks 456 v Gloucs 197 & 130-7

    Conor McKerr is ticking here.

He bangs a ball in short to Zaman Akhter, who taps the ball to long leg for a couple of runs.

He's round the wicket for the last ball, banged in short and pushed round the corner for one.

  13. WICKET Robinson c Pepper b Critchley 4published at 15:42 25 June

    Essex 339 v Durham 587 & 77-4

And now Matt Critchley strikes. Durham four down.

A bit of width and Ollie Robinson fancies it after his 198 in the first innings, but his edge is well snaffled behind the stumps.

Durham lead by 325, so Essex have kept them in check this afternoon.

  14. Postpublished at 15:41 25 June

    Notts 360 & 56-0 v Somerset 470

Craig Overton has a slip and a gully in for Migael Pretorius, but the ball goes between the skipper and Kasey Aldridge off Ben Slater's outside edge for four.

19 overs without even really a sniff of a breakthrough.

  15. Postpublished at 15:40 25 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 312-5

A premeditated shot from Liam Dawson, who is forward to Will Rhodes to fetch an off stump ball to fine leg for four.

Seven runs off the over in total.

  16. Postpublished at 15:40 25 June

    Kent 244 & 39-2 v Lancashire 549-9 dec

    That is so close.

Past the outside edge of Joey Evison's bat, but it does not hit it and neither does it hit the stumps.

Lovely bowling from Nathan Lyon - excellent stuff from the off-spinner.

  17. Postpublished at 15:38 25 June

    Yorks 456 v Gloucs 197 & 125-7

A lovely drive from Beau Webster through extra cover off spinner Dom Bess for four.

He's not a defensive player by nature but he blocks out the over nonetheless.

40 overs remain today as the Tykes strive for a three-day win.

  18. 'Essex got what they needed but Durham still in control'published at 15:37 25 June

    Essex 339 v Durham 587 & 72-3

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

David Bedingham lobbed it up to the Essex captain Tom Westley at mid-off.

So Essex have got their wicket and it's just what they needed but Durham are still well in control and well in command of this game.

  19. Postpublished at 15:37 25 June

    Notts 360 & 51-0 v Somerset 470

    Buzzers.

    Five runs.

Haseeb Hameed again with good running, pushing a single and Andy Umeed's arm gives him a bonus four to the short side for it.

Fortunately for James Rew and Andy Umeed, it is not in Jack Leach's nature to get angry and shout and gesticulate as Rashid Khan famously did in the World Cup earlier today.

  20. WICKET Bedingham c Westley b Harmer 28published at 15:34 25 June

    Essex 339 v Durham 587 & 72-3

Simon Harmer offers up a lot of air and David Bedingham falls into the trap.

Bedingham toes it straight to mid-off where Tom Westley takes a nice tumbling catch.

Harmer has removed his fellow South African in both innings of this game now.
