    Yorks 516-7d v Surrey 294-3

A settling stand here for Surrey who had lost 3-60 after an opening stand of 134 before three poor strokes.

But Ryan Patel and Dan Lawrence, who passed fifty in 51 balls with nine fours, both now have 66 and have got them going again.

Still 13 overs to bowl at Scarborough.

  2. Gloomy skies at Edgbastonpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 24 July

    Warks 184 & 19-2 v Worcs 333 & 243

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

If we didn't have the floodlights, I reckon we would have lost quite a lot of game time both yesterday and today.

I think even more so today as it has been even gloomier today at times.

We are probably in the poorest light conditions of the day.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Felix Organpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 24 July

    Hants 333-5 v Notts 578-8d

What a good job Felix Organ has done for his side but he needs to stay out there.

His 50 is his ninth in first class cricket from 138 balls with nine fours.

  4. Close of play at Cheltenhampublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 24 July

    Glos 381 & 98-0 f/o v Lancs 557

Ben Charlesworth, very fluent again after his 160 earlier in the day, gets to the close on 61 not out and with Cameron Bancroft, 35, the Glosters opening pair have got to the close intact.

But it's been Tom Hartley's day for Lancashire.

Offered some assistance from the wicket and a host of left-handers to bowl at, he took 6-116 - his best figures for Lancashire and just a second five-for in county cricket.

He worked through Gloucestershire in the afternoon as the hosts tumbled from 296-3.

Lancashire sent the hosts back in, no success after tea but still a lead of 78 to come back with on the final day.

  5. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 24 July

    Hants 331-5 v Notts 578-8d

A good job being done by Tilak Varma (109*) and Felix Organ (48*).

The game is still on a knife edge for the home side simply because of the scoreboard pressure they are facing.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 24 July

    Sales b Roland-Jones 26 (Middlesex 625-8 dec v Northants 261 & 50-3)

    Beaten all ends up!

Toby Roland-Jones steams in and clean bowls James Sales who plays completely down the wrong line with an attempted drive.

There are still 16 overs left here today...

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 24 July

    Davies c Foreman b Taylor 3 (Warks 12-2 - target 393 v Worcs)

Worcestershire have a second! What a start this is.

A full ball at the pads but Alex Davies has tapped it up to midwicket.

Bears in a huge hole with lights on at Edgbaston.

  8. Bad light stops playpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 24 July

    Derbys 98-4 v Leics (target 446)

Derbyshire are 98-4 but bad light has taken the players off at Derby.

No covers on and ground staff stood around with their hands in their pockets.

    One of those frustrating stoppages.

  9. No wickets since mid-afternoon for Nottspublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 24 July

    Hants 322-5 v Notts 578-8d

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

There have been no wickets for Nottingham since mid-afternoon and they would of really of hoped to of at least wiped away eight or nine Hampshire wickets by the close tonight.

They have been on the brink of being able to enforce the follow-on should match of taken that sort of turn for them.

  10. Close of play at Hovepublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 24 July

    Sussex 204 & 245-5 v Essex 504

The covers are on at Hove as the rain comes downImage source, Rex Features

The rain brings an early end to the third day at Hove.

James Coles will sweat it out overnight on 99 not out.

Sussex lost four wickets for 26 runs after tea and still trail Essex by 55 runs.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 24 July

    Yates lbw Khurram Shahzad 8 (Warks 9-1 - target 393 v Worcs)

What an opening over from Khurram Shahzad!

Two balls nipped into Rob Yates and he managed to angle them wide of long leg for four.

But the next one that comes back also keeps low and Yates is pinned bang in front lbw.

  12. Glamorgan chase under waypublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 24 July

    Glamorgan 327 & 2-0 v Kent 155 & 360

Right, the Glamorgan chase is under way.

How will they go about this?

They have about 13 overs left in the day and are chasing a total of 189.

  13. Postpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 24 July

    Glos 381 & 94-0 f/o v Lancs 557

Excellent start to the Gloucestershire follow-on.

Ben Charlesworth has gone past fifty for the second time in the game, in 64 balls with seven fours and a six pulled off Tom Hartley.

Cameron Bancroft with him on 33 and the pair will be desperate to see this through to the close at the top of the hour.

  14. 50 runs

for Ryan Patelpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 24 July

    Yorks 517-6d v Surrey 240-3

Still a great deal of batting for Surrey to get out of this hole and Ryan Patel is the third half-centurion of the innings.

82 balls, five fours and two sixes - both pulls over deep square early in his innings.

    20 overs remain at Scarborough.

  15. Brookes breaks Edgbaston recordpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 24 July

    Warks 184 v Worcs 333 & 243 - Warks need 393 to win

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

    Ethan BrookesImage source, Rex Features

Ethan Brookes has got four fours and seven sixes (in the second innings) - 15 sixes in the match overall.

The previous record for one batter in a first class match on this ground was 12 - that record was held until tea time today by, Dean Jones and Ian Botham, jointly.

That is very good company for Brookes to be keeping

  16. KENT SET GLAMORGAN 189 TO WINpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 24 July

    Glamorgan 327 v Kent 155 & 360

Grant Stewart is the last man out for Kent and they have set Glamorgan 189 to win.

It had been a very good day for Kent as they moved steadily into the lead and onto 333-5 but they then suffered a collapse, losing their last five wickets for just 27 runs.

It's of course a positive that they have given Glamorgan a reasonable target to hit, which didn't always look likely, but they might be thinking it could have been a few more.

  17. wicket

Worcestershire 243 all outpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 24 July

    Finch c Mousley b Webster 4 (Warks 184 v Worcs 333 & 243)

Adam Finch has done really well to last 41 balls in support of Ethan Brookes but he's now last man out.

He fancies a swing at a wide one now he only has the No. 11 for company and edges to slip.

393 to win for Warwickshire. 24 overs to come tonight.

  18. Five-wicket haulpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 24 July

    Jewell lbw b Ahmed 41(Derbys 87-4 v Leics - target 446)

And 10 in the game for Rehan Ahmed.

Caleb Jewell is trapped lbw for 41 after a 45-run stand for the fourth wicket with Brooke Guest.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 24 July

    Brookes c Webster b Barnard 87 (Warks 184 v Worcs 333 & 241-9)

No second century for Ethan Brookes as he connects very well with a flick off Ed Barnard but can't clear deep square!

Beau Webster with the catch in front of the Hollies Stand.

But what a fine innings that's pushed Worcestershire into a big lead just when they were wobbling badly at 150-8.

  20. rain stops play

    Sussex 204 & 245-7 v Essex 504

A murky scene at HoveImage source, Adrian Harms

It doesn't look too hopeful at Hove.

The big covers are on and are being battened down.

The floodlights are on as well.

We might be going into a fourth day.
