  1. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 11 April

    Surrey 198-6 v Hants

Dom Sibley is back in the middle on 64 not out, facing Hampshire pace bowler Brad Wheal.

Jordan Clark is one not out at the other end.

Vital session of play for both sides.

Surrey need runs and a partnership.

Hampshire need to wrap this innings up tonight.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 65.2 overs

    Ackermann c Fernando b Ali 18 (Durham 229-5 v Warwickshire)

Twin tons last week, out for 18 this week.

Nice catch at deep square over his shoulder from Vishwa Fernando as Colin Ackermann holes out off Tazeem Chaudry Ali trying a sweep down on one knee.

Will Rhodes strides out to bat against his former teammates. Nervy walk, that.

  3. Back under way at CLSpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 11 April

    Durham 228-4 v Warwickshire

32 overs left on the slate, 16 overs until the new ball is available, and 22 runs for a first Durham batting point.

Ben McKinney has bigger things in mind, resuming on 89* with Colin Ackermann on 18*.

    Notts 212-6 v Essex

    Durham 228-4 v Warwickshire

    Yorkshire 270-4 v Worcestershire

    Sussex 242-8 v Somerset

    Division Two

    Lancashire v Northants 234-4

    Kent v Middlesex 222

    Gloucestershire 225-1 v Glamorgan

    Leicestershire 271-5 v Derbyshire

  5. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 64 overs

    Notts 212-6 v Essex

Not a bad end to the middle session for the hosts with Kyle Verreynne, unbeaten on 53, and Fergus O'Neill providing excellent support on 30.

The partnership is up to 45 in next to no time and it could be that these two will keep swinging after the break with a little bit of batting still to come.

Essex will still be pleased with their efforts on a track where Durham scored 378 in the first dig and lost in the opening round of fixtures.

  6. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lancs v Northants 234-4

James Sales drives left arm spinner Tom Hartley to long off for one.

    He's 83 not out.

Single to Saif Zaib into the off side to move to 43.

Sales sees out the over and Northants go to tea handily placed to renew their attack on the Red Rose bowling this evening after being put into bat this morning.

  7. Tea at Hovepublished at 64 overs

    Sussex 242-8 v Somerset

Ground staff are wandering on with brushes in hand in the Hove sunshine as Sussex reach tea still in tact but in bother.

That has been a fairly devastating session for the hosts losing eight wickets for 120 which, after electing to bat, was not how things were supposed to pan out.

Captain John Simpson is unbeaten on 47 and Jayden Seales is there on five not out, but with little to come in the way of firepower a second batting point at 300 looks a way off.

Somerset will probably be well pleased with not only their tans on a glorious south coast day but a solid two sessions in the field.

  8. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lancs v Northants 232-4

Four more to Saif Zaib, who goes down on one knee to launch Luke Wells over mid wicket.

He trades singles with James Sales, who keeps the strike with a cut to point for one. Nine off the over.

  9. Tea at Headingleypublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 11 April

    Yorkshire 270-4 v Worcestershire

The hosts look on track for a big score here with Dawid Malan poised on 75* at tea and George Hill playing nicely for his 39*.

Adam Lyth holed-out for 67 earlier and Jonny Bairstow was on the end of a poor decision but the White Rose will be eyeing a score of 400+, perhaps even by stumps, as the Pears toil in the field once again.

  10. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 11 April

    #bbccricket

The latest in the second division games away from Old Trafford...

Kent eventually polished off the Middlesex tail at Canterbury to oust the visitors for 222.

Kashif Ali and Nathan Gilchrist collected three scalps apiece while Jack Davies finished unbeaten on 47.

Cameron Bancroft has brought up his 31st first class century and Gloucestershire are in total control on 220-1 against Glamorgan at Bristol.

The skipper has put on an unbeaten 163 for this wicket with Ollie Price who has a half-century of his own.

Derbyshire are toiling against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

The hosts are 267-5 with Peter Handscomb on 32* after half-centuries from Sol Budinger and Ian Holland earlier.

  11. Tea at the Ovalpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 11 April

    Surrey 198-6 v Hants

Another maiden for Liam Dawson rounds off another encouraging session of play for Hampshire, who snared the wicket of Ryan Patel just before the break.

Dom Sibley once again survives a testing session of play and he's on 64 not out.

Jordan Clark is one not out and the seventh wicket partnership will be crucial for the hosts this evening.

  12. 50 runs

50 for Verreynnepublished at 61 overs

    Notts 205-6 v Essex

Half century for the South African Verreynne and 200 up for Notts in the same over.

It has been a good innings from Verreynne in difficult circumstances coming in at 74-4 and pushing Notts up to some measure of respectability, with his 52 coming from 119 balls.

  13. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lancs v Northants 222-4

Saif Zaib picks up his sixth four with a powerful lofted drive over the head of left arm spinner Tom Hartley.

James Sales moves to 77 with a four of his own, chopped away to deep third.

Serene progress from this fifth wicket pair.

The "double nelson" won't bother them one bit.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 11 April

    Patel c Stoneman b Hampton 31 (Surrey 197-6 v Hants)

Horrid dismissal for Ryan Patel, who makes a mess of an attempted pull shot and top edges a catch to Mark Stoneman on the off side.

Brett Hampton strikes just before tea and now Jordan Clark will have a bat.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 60.3 overs

    Carson c Gregory b Leach 30 (Sussex 233-8 v Somerset)

A partnership between Jack Carson and John Simpson, which had just breached the 50 mark, has been broken by Leach, who finds the edge and Lewis Gregory does the rest at first slip.

The pair had taken Sussex from 180-7 to 233 which has added a thin layer of gloss on a pretty rough performance from the home side.

It will be interesting to see how aggressive Simpson goes now albeit with three overs before tea he may rein those instincts in a touch.

  16. Postpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lancs v Northants 209-4

Four more runs to James Sales, with a lovely flowing drive through cover.

He tickles the last ball of the over to fine leg for two and that's the 50 partnership with Saif Zaib in 74 balls.

  17. Postpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 11 April

    Surrey 197-5 v Hants

Can Liam Dawson prize out another wicket for Hampshire before the tea break?

He's bowling with plenty of flight, guile and economy here.

Dom Sibley defends down the ground. Maiden over.

Just 11 runs off eight overs conceded by the Hampshire spinner so far.

  18. 250 runs

250 up for Yorkshirepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 11 April

    Yorkshire 250-4 v Worcestershire

First batting bonus point in the bag, and there will be plenty more to follow, you'd imagine.

The new ball in 20-odd overs is going to be in the back of Worcestershire minds already. If they can't make the most of it then they're still going to be exactly where they are now in 20 hours time, you'd expect.

  19. 200 up for Northantspublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lancs v Northants 200-4

Spin at both ends now. Left arm spinner Tom Hartley is bowling from the Anderson End.

By which I mean the Sir Jimmy Anderson End.

Saif Zaib reverse sweeps the first ball for four.

Zaib cuts the next ball to backward point for a single to take Northants to 200 in the 58th over.

  20. Tea at CLSpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 11 April

    Durham 228-4 v Warwickshire

20-year-old opener Ben McKinney has quietly hauled himself to 89* as the teams head off for tea.

David Bedingham departed for 58 after being dropped on 29 and 30 while Ollie Robinson didn't linger for his 12 but Colin Ackermann is there on 17* to join the chase for bonus points in the evening session.
