    Wells c Bracey b Akhter 18 (Lancs 28-1 v Glocs)

Angled nicely across Luke Wells by Zaman Akhter and he has feathered it to James Bracey behind the stumps.

Glocs have the breakthrough after a decent start from Lancashire with the bat.

Glamorgan's decision to bowl has not yielded any rewards yet in Cardiff where Kent have reached 37-0.

Four fours apiece from openers Jaydn Denly and Ben Compton have got the scoreboard moving.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 22 July

    Hughes c Pepper b Porter 13 (Sussex 28-1 v Essex)

    A breakthrough for Essex.

There didn't seem to be a lot happening for the visitors but Jamie Porter gets Daniel Hughes to edge one behind and Essex are on the board.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 22 July

    Hants v Notts 13-1

Down it goes and Ben Slater survives.

Kyle Abbott extracts the edge but Tilak Varma at second slip can't hold on - he will know he should have.

How costly will that prove to be?

  5. Under way at Tauntonpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 22 July

    Somerset v Durham 0-0

After a slight delay for rain and another for drizzle the players are on the dance floor at Taunton, half an hour after the scheduled start.

Josh Davey has ball in hand for the hosts and Alex Lees is in his sights at 22 yards.

  6. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 22 July

    Derbys v Leics 25-2

A bit of a recovery for the Division Two leaders after they were 0-2.

Rehan Ahmed is batting at number three for Leicestershire and has struck a couple of boundaries just to release that early pressure.

  7. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 22 July

    Hants v Notts 11-1

Nice and tight from Hampshire at the start with the visitors managing just the 11 runs from the opening six overs.

Crucially Haseeb Hameed is already out.

  8. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 22 July

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 22-0

A pleasing opening half-hour for the Worcestershire openers after deciding to bat.

Gareth Roderick and Jake Libby are on eight and 14 respectively.

Nothing to really get opening bowlers Ollie Hannon-Dalby and Ethan Bamber too excited at a grey Edgbaston.

  9. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 22 July

    Sussex 22-0 v Essex

Yeah, we weren't off for long and we're back out at Hove after that brief rain break.

It might be one of those days...

  10. 'Hameed could have left it alone'published at 11:27 British Summer Time 22 July

    Hants v Notts 11-1

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It was one that Haseeb Hameed could have comfortably left alone.

  11. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 July

    Sussex 22-0 v Essex

A solid start for Sussex after being put in to bat by Essex but the rain has come at Hove and off we go.

Hopefully it's only a brief stoppage.

  12. dropped catch

Bean dropped on 3published at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 July

    Yorks 12-0 v Surrey

That should have been gone, or Bean gone if you like.

Matthew Fisher gets the edge as Finlay Bean drives hard at one which leaves the pitch a touch but the ball is put down at gully by Dom Sibley.

The fielder seemed a little unsure whether to go fingers up or down (it came at mid chest level) but it has bounced off him.

  13. 'There's a bit of life in this wicket'published at 11:23 British Summer Time 22 July

    Hants v Notts 3-1

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Well there's a bit of life in this wicket this morning with the new Kookaburra ball which is good to see.

  14. 'Interesting to know what Surrey would have done'published at 11:20 British Summer Time 22 July

    Yorkshire 11-0 v Surrey

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It would have been interesting to know what Surrey would have done if they had won the toss this morning.

I think they would have probably had a bat as well.

  15. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 22 July

    Yorks 11-0 v Surrey

Adam Lyth has made a confident start hitting two fours off Dan Worrall in the opening over.

But Matthew Fisher has him playing and missing twice in the first over he faces from his former teammate.

    Hameed c Brown b Jack 2 (Hants v Notts 3-1)

    An early breakthrough for Hampshire.

Only Surrey's Dom Sibley has scored more championship runs than Haseeb Hameed so far this season and Hampshire will be glad to see the back of the Notts skipper.

Hameed tries to force away a delivery from Eddie Jack and only succeeds in edging behind to Ben Brown.

    Even better for Derbyshire.

That is both the openers back in the hutch now.

Blair Tickner rattles Sol Budinger's furniture and the visitors might be questioning their decision bat.

  18. Somerset aiming to rein in leaders at Tauntonpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 22 July

Somerset v Durham (starts 1115 GMT)

There will have been contrasting emotions in the Durham dressing room after their monumental slog against Surrey last week.

For the bowlers there was much hard work, three centuries and a triple hundred, as Surrey racked up 820-9 declared.

For the batters there were runs with Alex Lees (100 not out) and Emilio Gay (156 not out) boosting their confidence as they held out for a draw in the second innings.

Against Somerset here they face a side in fourth (33 points off Surrey’s lead) who will still believe they can force their way into the title picture before September.

Lewis Gregory’s side, who won the toss and put Durham in, have drawn their last two damping the brakes slightly on a charge after three wins on the bounce in May one of which being a seven wicket victory over this opposition.

  19. Postpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 22 July

    Sussex 8-0 v Essex

A first boundary of the day at an overcast Hove.

Tom Haines gets off the mark by driving Jamie Porter away to the cover fence before clipping the next ball through mid wicket for three more runs.

Essex won the toss and chose to bowl.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 22 July

    Patel c Guest b Reece 0 (Derbys v Leics 0-1)

Not a great start for the leaders but a perfect one for the side chasing them.

Luis Reece finds the edge of Rishi Patel's bat and Brooke Guest behind the stumps does the rest.
