  1. 'A good catch from Yates'published at 18:12 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 245-8

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

A good catch from Rob Yates, it was very low to his left. He got down and made it look easy.

No great fuss about the way he caught that.

  2. 350 up for Leicestershirepublished at 18:10 British Summer Time

    Derbys v Leics 350-3

Another over, another milestone for Leicestershire.

Lewis Hill (127*) looks like he has his eyes firmly on coming back tomorrow morning as does Peter Handscombe (97*) as he closes on a century himself.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:07 British Summer Time

    Foreman c Yates b Hannon-Dalby 2 (Warwickshire v Worcestershire 245-8)

Ollie Hannon-Dalby has struggled for wickets all summer, but he's on the card today.

A good ball moving away from on-loan Sussex left-hander Bertie Foreman draws the edges and Rob Yates is a very safe pair of hands at second slip.

Can anyone keep Ethan Brookes company until the close?

  4. 50 runs

50 partnership & 200 up for Nottspublished at 18:07 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 200-4

A nice job done by Jack Haynes (60*) and Kyle Verreynne (18*) as they bring up the 50 stand for the fifth wicket.

There are definitely runs out there if the overhead conditions suit.

Dan Worrall took three wickets on day one

A day shortened by bad light and rain finishes with Yorkshire happy with their lot at 282-4 and resuming tomorrow with 24 overs left of their bonus points chase.

The 350 target and three batting points should be within reach but against this strong Surrey side wickets in hand will be more important than an extra point here and there, so there is little likelihood of throwing caution to the wind.

Adam Lyth and Finlay Bean did well to get them off to a decent start sharing a 107 run partnership and James Wharton and Will Luxton batted well adding 149 for the third wicket.

Surrey for their part might rue a couple of decisions that did not go their way with Wharton escaping a stumping which looked out against Sai Kishore and Matthew Revis an lbw shout off Dan Worrall that looked bang on.

As it is Jonny Bairstow (19) and Revis (0) return in the morning.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time

    Ul-Hassan c Finch b Agar 27 (Glamorgan 78-4 v Kent 155)

Cracking bowling from Aussie Wes Agar is keeping Kent in this game.

Coming round the wicket to the left-hander, he gets one to lift on Zain Ul-Hassan and he gloves it behind.

Three for Agar and four for his team.

Can they nibble one or two more wickets before the close?

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time

    Gregory c Clark b Wagner 17 (Somerset 194-7 v Durham 145)

Neil Wagner has been persistent with his short ball strategy and finally gets one right.

This rises into Lewis Gregory's ribs and gets the leading edge to short leg where Graham Clark takes the catch.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Jack Haynespublished at 17:59 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 186-4

Very nicely played by Jack Haynes.

His 50 comes from 55 balls with eight fours.

  9. 'Walter was looking nailed on for a big score'published at 17:54 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 114-2

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Pretty much like Dean Elgar, Paul Walter was looking pretty much nailed on for a very big score indeed but he's been dismissed by Jack Carson.

He was just pushing tentatively forward and he's been given lbw.

An important wicket for Sussex to take.

  10. Postpublished at 17:53 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 179-4

Not a lot happening for Hampshire since removing Freddie McCann.

Jack Haynes is looking good on his unbeaten 44 for Notts.

  11. Close of play at Northwoodpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 319-1 v Northamptonshire

Bad light brings an end to the day at Merchant Taylor's School a full 16 overs early.

It has been an excellent day for Middlesex after being asked to bat by Northamptonshire.

Sam Robson is the only man to go for 57, but Max Holden with 137 not out and Kane Williamson on 88 have added an unbroken 199.

They will resume in the morning in a very commanding position.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time

    Allison c Yates b Bamber 16 (Warwickshire v Worcestershire 242-7)

The new ball does as it's told from a Warwickshire point of view.

The ever willing Ethan Bamber gets Ben Allison playing down the wrong line.

The Pears number eight is trying to hit through midwicket, but is turned round and edges it to second slip.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time

    Walter lbw Carson 47 (Sussex 204 v Essex 114-2)

Paul Walter can't believe it and not many of us can to be honest.

He just misses a straight one from Jack Carson and is trapped in front.

That's a bonus wicket for Sussex.

  14. new ball

New ballpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 242-6

Warwickshire have a new cherry as they try to take the last four Worcestershire wickets tonight if possible.

But Ethan Brookes has found good support from Ben Allison to move from 196-6.

The Pears would love to be only six down at stumps tonight.

  15. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 17:44 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 113-1

Tom Westley (19*) and Paul Walter (47*) have been enjoying themselves out there for Essex.

The 50 stand comes up for the second wicket and Sussex have got some thinking to do because the runs are coming far too easily from their perspective.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time

    Balderson c Bracey b Akhter 26 (Glocs v Lancs 209-6)

The sixth-wicket partnership of 49 between George Balderson and Matty Hurst comes to an end as the former fends a short ball from Zaman Akhter off his hip to James Bracey behind the stumps.

Akhter has 4-46 now and is eyeing a fourth five-wicket haul of his first-class career.

  17. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 103-1

Glorious from Paul Walter as he drives Ari Karvelas all along the carpet to the long-on boundary for four runs.

He pulls the next ball to the mid-wicket fence and up comes the Essex 100.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Lammonbypublished at 17:32 British Summer Time

    Somerset 161-6 v Durham 145

Before the wicket of Archie Vaughan there was a neat reverse sweep from Tom Lammonby off the bowling of George Drissell which brought up the Somerset batter's half century in 51 balls.

  19. Division Two latestpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time

    #bbccricket

Play has restarted in Northwood and follows the pattern of the rest of the afternoon as Middlesex bring up their 300 and second batting point.

Kane Williamson is up to 75 and closing in rapidly on joining partner Max Holden (131 not out) as a day one centurion.

Stand-in captain Kiran Carlson has gone for 27 for Glamorgan as they have crept to 56-2 off 20 overs against Kent.

That is now less than 100 behind the visitors after their massive collapse earlier.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time

    Vaughan lbw b Parkinson 15 (Somerset 156-6 v Durham 145)

Archie Vaughan has pushed forward but missed a straight one from Callum Parkinson. It hits him in front of middle and off and the finger goes up.

Vaughan may have failed to work out his angles, but he was sufficiently aware to know that was plumb.

His partnership with Tom Lammonby has added 51 for the sixth wicket and put Somerset into the lead.
