  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time

    Abell c Clark b Drissell 0 (Somerset 103-4 v Durham 145)

Somerset are wobbling here and have now lost three for five runs in eight balls.

George Drissell gets a bit of turn and lift off the pitch (there is a puff of dust as it pitches) and Tom Abell turns a straightforward catch to Graham Clark at short leg.

He does well to hold his shape and stay low to take a good grab.

  2. 'Match situation transformed'published at 16:48 British Summer Time

    Somerset 103-3 v Durham 145

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Very disappointing for James Rew, but if you hit the ball in the air you must not be altogether surprised.

It was a very good catch by George Drissell.

The match situation has been transformed.

  3. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 279-1 v Northamptonshire

The rain dance from the Northants bowlers has obviously worked because the players have duly headed off.

Kane Williamson and Max Holden have been in fine form in tandem this afternoon, putting on 157.

    Derbys v Leics 278-3

Lewis Hill gets to a ninth first-class century.

He has been a study in watchfulness but never looked in trouble as he reaches three figures from 194 balls with eight fours.

He, along with Rehan Ahmed rescued the visitors from 0-2 and now, alongside Peter Handscomb, is taking the Division Two leaders into a very good position.

It is also Hill's 100th first class match - quite a way to mark it.

    Luxton b Jacks 71 (Yorks 257-3 v Surrey)

Yorkshire's Will LuxtonImage source, Rex Features

Yorkshire's Will Luxton struck a half century

Breakthough for Surrey who break the third-wicket partnership.

Will Luxton is reaching for a sweep but exposes his leg stump and misses. Will Jacks does not and Yorkshire are three down.

That was a poor shot selection but more importantly it was a loss of balance as he executed, toppling away towards the off side and leaving the target in view.

    A good innings, nonetheless.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time

    D'Oliveira c Smith b Webster 57 (Warwickshire v Worcestershire 175-5)

Australia all-rounder Beau Webster bends his back and get his reward.

He gets one to bounce a little bit more from a good length and it provokes Brett D'Oliveira into nicking it behind.

He goes for 57 after a good partnership with Ethan Brookes worth 66 but Warwickshire now have a new batter to target.

  7. Division Two latestpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time

    #bbccricket

This second-wicket partnership for Middlesex is now worth 155 between Max Holden (120) and Kane Williamson (65) as they sit on 277-1.

It could be a very difficult final session for Northants if they cannot break this stand.

Kent's Wes Agar bowled Asa Tribe in the fourth over, but Glamorgan have been watchful in reaching 22-1 off 10 overs.

Remember, the visitors collapsed from 148-3 to 155 all out earlier.

Lewis Hill sweeps for four for LeicestershireImage source, rex

The milestones keep coming for Leicestershire.

Lewis Hill (94*) and Peter Handscomb (59*) rattle up a century stand for the fourth wicket.

It's all very easy for them.

  9. 50 runs

50 up for Essexpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 52-0

Dean Elgar edges Gurinder Sandhu past gully and down to the boundary to bring up the Essex 50 inside nine overs.

    Sandhu cuts a frustrated figure.

Elgar takes a single off the next ball to move to 41 not out.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time

    Rew c Drissell b Potts 0 (Somerset 98-3 v Durham 145)

Two in three balls for Durham, and Matthew Potts shifts the dial back in Durham's direction to get rid of James Rew for a duck.

This is a good catch by George Drissell at gully who dives forward to take it before it hits the deck.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Davey c Bedingham b Potts 37 (Somerset 98-2 v Durham 145)

And if that is not the commentator's curse striking, I don't know what is...

Just one post after praising Josh Davey's batting as makeshift opener he gets out to a lower order defence, edging Matthew Potts to slip.

To be fair to Davey, who had batted well for his 37, that jumped and left him slightly but his bat was well away from his eyeline and he has guided an easy catch to David Bedingham at first slip.

  12. 'Little obvious help for Bears bowlers'published at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 175-4

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Worcestershire accumulated runs steadily through the afternoon session to repair their innings from the early damage - and might have been still better placed had Adam Hose not been lost to a run-out that looks either careless or brilliant, depending on the badge on your shirt.

Ed Barnard had come close to running out Jake Libby from extra cover earlier in the day, and when given a second chance as Brett D’Oliveira pushed the ball in his direction, he did not miss.

Hose left with a scar of earth on the front of his shirt, from diving in vain into an old wicket-end, defeated by his own hesitation in answering D’Oliveira’s call.

It was a pity for Hose, who had not scored at the same pace as in his giant double-hundred at Southampton last time out in the Championship, but still looked in fine touch.

D’Oliveira repented by batting with particular care up to the tea interval, while Ethan Brookes decorated their half-century stand with some attractive drives.

The Warwickshire seamers gave way to the spinners for the last half-hour before tea, but there was little obvious help from the pitch for either of them.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Peter Handscombpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time

    Derbys v Leics 263-3

The Australian Peter Handscomb goes to a half century from 85 balls with three fours.

The skipper will want plenty more given the conditions and nature of the ball.

  14. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time

    Somerset 97-1 v Durham 145

Josh Davey did not have the best day with the ball in his day job as opening bowler but he is doing nicely moonlighting as an opener.

He was a surprise pick to open when Somerset had troubles at the start of the campaign but got a 64 in the first innings against Warwickshire and now has 39 out of Somerset's 97-1

Not only that, he has looked every inch an opener with a perfectly timed on-drive off Ben Raine probably the pick of the strokes on show today.

  15. Tea at Hampshirepublished at 16:31 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 115-3

We lost all but 45 minutes of the morning session but we've gone through unhindered since resuming at 14:45 BST after a lengthy rain break.

Freddie McCann has looked in good touch to get to 69 not out albeit he was dropped on 58 - one of two catches to go down in the Hampshire slips today.

This is McCann's highest score away from Nottingham.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 16:30 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 168-4

Brett D'Oliveira is gifted a full toss from Tazeem Ali and he helps himself to the four runs he needs to reach his 50 off 137 balls.

Then next ball, he shimmies down the wicket and launches the bowler straight back down the ground for another four.

Very positive stuff from the Pears captain, who remember, came to the wicket this morning at 50-3.

  17. Postpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 33-0

Essex are racing along at five runs an over with very little to concern Dean Elgar or Paul Walter.

Elgar has got himself to 29 not out from 30 balls.

    Sussex need a wicket.

  18. 250 runs

250 up for Leicestershirepublished at 16:24 British Summer Time

    Derbys v Leics 251-3

It's got the feel of just remorselessness from the Division Two leaders.

Derbyshire could be staring down the barrel of a big first innings which is all a far cry from 0-2 this morning.

Lewis Hill (88*) and Peter Handscomb (46*) bring up the 250.

  19. Final session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 159-4

It's probably fairly even as the third and final session of the day begins at Edgbaston.

Can either the Bears or Pears grab the initiative by the close of play?

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

    Clarke c Middleton b Fuller 32 (Hants v Notts 105-3)

    Hampshire have held a catch.

Two have gone down in the slips but Fletcha Middleton hangs onto a good one at backward point as Joe Clarke tries to send a James Fuller delivery away to the boundary.

It's a loose shot from Clarke and a bonus for Hampshire just before tea.
