  1. 'Tame way for McCann to get out'published at 17:27 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 152-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A simple, simple wicket for Kyle Abbott.

Freddie McCann just held his bat out and chopped it straight up in the air at point and a very, very easy catch for Sonny Baker.

He's played beautifully all day, but what a very tame way to go.

For the second time this season McCann out bang on 79 when there was a three-figure score up for grabs.

    A real blow for Notts.

  2. 6 runs

Sussex introduce the spin of Jack Carson as they search for a second wicket.

Still no sign of Derbyshire breaking this stand between Lewis Hill (118*) and Peter Handscomb (79*).

Up comes the 150 partnership for the fourth wicket.

There are going to be some sore limbs in the Derbyshire dressing room this evening.

  4. 150 runs

150 up for Nottspublished at 17:23 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 152-4

Kyle Verreynne comes in to replace Freddie McCann and clubs his first ball down the ground for four runs.

Up comes the Notts 150 in fine style.

  5. Bad light stops play at Scarboroughpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time

    Yorks 282-4 v Surrey

There does not appear to be any rain for all the dark clouds swirling the ground.

But the light has deteriorated sufficiently for the umpires to call time on play.

It could be the last action and plenty of those at Scarbados have packed up their tupperware and knitting and decided that is that for the day.

In fact, as the words are being written, it is now raining.

  6. 'Onus on Brookes to steer this'published at 17:21 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 213-6

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Ethan Brookes has played very well for his 50.

He came in at a tricky point when the fall of Adam Hose at 109-4, they were wobbling a bit then.

Now he's in quite a responsible position to bat with the lower order, and that's not to insult Ben Allison's batting because we've already seen he's keen to take the opportunity to score, but I think the onus is on Brookes to steer this.

We haven't really seen anything in the pitch that would suggest that it's not going to turn into quite a good pitch to bat on.

  7. Somerset leadpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

    Somerset 148-5 v Durham 145

A swept four from Archie Vaughan takes Somerset past Durham's first innings score to a lead of three with five wickets in hand.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

    McCann c Baker b Abbott 79 (Hants v Notts 148-4)

Oh Freddie McCann what have you done?

He looked odds on for a ton but McCann dangles the bat and just lobs Kyle Abbott's delivery into the air where Sonny Baker takes an easy catch.

It's a very disappointing end to an enterprising innings.

  9. Close!published at 17:16 British Summer Time

    Yorks 280-4 v Surrey

Have Yorkshire got away with another one there?

Nigel Llong is the umpire who did not give the stumping appeal against James Wharton earlier and there is even more head scratching about that one which appears, on replays, to be hitting Matthew Revis's middle stump.

Dan Worrall could have had a fourth wicket of the day there. As it is, Yorkshire trundle on towards 300.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Ethan Brookespublished at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire v Worcestershire 211-6

Ethan Brookes steers one out into the covers to jog through for an 82-ball 50.

A half-century for the Pears against his old club the Bears.

  11. 300 runs

300 up for Leicestshirepublished at 17:10 British Summer Time

    Derbys v Leics 301-3

On and on and on go the Division Two leaders.

The 300 is up with Lewis Hill on 109* and Peter Handscomb has 72 not out.

  12. 'Durham's comeback continues'published at 17:07 British Summer Time

    Somerset 123-5 v Durham 145

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Tom Banton's disappointing run continues and Durham's comeback in this game of cricket very much continues.

    Well bowled by George Drissell.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time

    Wharton c Blake b Worrall 78 (Yorks 276-4 v Surrey)

Another wicket and another missed chance for a hundred.

James Wharton has batted well for his 78 and will kick himself for missing out on three figures.

But he does not quite get into line with that one from Dan Worrall which leaves him a touch and Josh Blake does the honours behind the stumps.

  14. 'Big blow for Essex'published at 17:05 British Summer Time

    Sussex 204 v Essex 63-1

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

That's a big blow because Dean Elgar has not played the major innings this season.

After threatening to do so today, he goes for 46 from 51 balls.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time

Taylor lbw b Tazeem Ali 7 (Warwickshire v Worcestershire 196-6)

That is as dead as a dodo as far as Tom Taylor is concerned.

Tazeem Ali skids one on and after shuffling across his stumps, Taylor has nowhere to go when the ball crashes into his pads.

    The Worcestershire innings is creaking.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

    Elgar c Ibrahim b Hudson Prentice 46 (Sussex 204 v Essex 63-1)

Sussex finally find a way through.

Dean Elgar is through his shot a little early and he lobs the ball to Danial Ibrahim on the on side off the bowling of Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time

    Banton c Clark b Drissell 10 (Somerset 115-5 v Durham 145)

    The wobble continues.

Somerset have now lost four for 17 runs and, after a decent start, are doing their best to level this game up.

It was a mirror image of the Tom Abell dismissal, this time Tom Banton pushes forward in a defensive block to George Drissell and gets another inside edge to Graham Clark at short leg.

  18. dropped catch

Bairstow dropped on fivepublished at 16:57 British Summer Time

    Yorkshire 264-3 v Surrey

That was a fine attempt rather than a drop, but Dan Lawrence did get a hand to that at cover.

Jonny Bairstow did not time that at all and slapped a wide one to to the left of cover off the bottom of his bat.

Lawrence dives and gets a hand on it but can't hang on. It goes for a single.

  19. Play resumes at Hampshirepublished at 16:50 British Summer Time

    Hants v Notts 115-3

Into the final session of the day we go at Utilita Bowl.

Just the 33 overs to be bowled - will the light hold?

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time

    Abell c Clark b Drissell 0 (Somerset 103-4 v Durham 145)

Somerset are wobbling here and have now lost three for five runs in eight balls.

George Drissell gets a bit of turn and lift off the pitch (there is a puff of dust as it pitches) and Tom Abell turns a straightforward catch to Graham Clark at short leg.

He does well to hold his shape and stay low to take a good grab.
