    Kent 407 & 119-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Joey Evison gets through an over from Ben Gibbon with a series of solid defensive shots. This is by no means his first rear-guard effort of the season for Kent.

Another maiden over. 29 overs remain. 92 behind.

  2. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 119-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Joey Evison gets off the mark with a streaky single from a Brett D'Oliveira googly.

Harry Finch negotiates the remaining five balls of the over without alarm. Just the one run from it.

  3. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 118-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Ben Gibbon returns - he was given a warning by umpire Ben Debenham after running on the pitch just before he picked up that precious wicket in his last over.

Harry Finch gets up on his toes to drive past extra cover for four runs to move into the 30s.

31 overs reman. 93 the deficit. Six wickets in hand. One of them is Jack Leaning who has a bad hand and a lot of fatigue.

  4. 'Notts get first win but Lancashire made them wait'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 & 81-1 v Lancashire 331 & 252

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Nottinghamshire got the first win of the season but Lancashire made them wait today, they made them toil.

That Haseeb Hameed innings spread over days two and three, coupled with Olly Stone's career-best 90, put Notts in the box seat.

They had to wait a long old time before dismissing Lancashire in their second innings, though, thanks to a splendid century to Matty Hurst - I'm looking forward to seeing how his career develops over the years.

Lancashire have given it everything and they've certainly not chucked the towel in but Notts got over the line to win by nine wickets.

  5. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 114-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch takes strike against Brett D'Oliveira after seeing his captain depart.

Finch moves to 26 after punching one through the hands of Adam Hose at short extra cover for a single.

It brings Joey Evison onto strike. He negotiates the final ball of the over.

32 overs left on he slate. The deficit is 97.

    WICKET: Bell-Drummond b Gibbon 41published at 16:11 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 113-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Now then... Ben Gibbon had beaten Daniel Bell-Drummond's edge earlier in the over and he's again managed to get the ball to move away from the right hander, beaten the bat and whacked off stump.

The resistance is broken. The 77-run partnership is broken.

Joey Evison joins Harry Finch. Still no Jack Leaning.

    Game very much on...

  7. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 112-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira takes the second over of the session but a glimpse around the outfield shows several, er, irregular, shall we say, bowlers going through bowling warm-ups.

    Maiden for D'Oliveira.

  8. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 112-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch carves a wide one from Ben Gibbon away into the covers and comes back for three.

Daniel Bell-Drummond rattles a similar delivery outside of off to the fence for a boundary from the next ball.

There are 35 overs remaining, but we may well not see all of them if the teams can agree on a draw as we enter the final hour.

Eight off the over means the deficit is down to double figures.

  9. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 104-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

The players return to the field for the final session - Jason Holder actually sprinted into the middle. Does that give a glimpse into the Worcestershire mindset?

This 68-run partnership between Daniel Bell-Drummond and Harry Finch has shifted the momentum this afternoon. How far can they go?

  10. Division Two tablepublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 13 May

    • Leicestershire P5 W0 68pts

  11. 'Durham remain unbeaten on return to Division One'published at 15:57 British Summer Time 13 May

    Hampshire 503 & 62-2 v Durham 432

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Hampshire's game with Durham has ended in an inevitable draw. No surprises given Durham's first innings only ended this morning.

The players went off for bad light at 2.47pm but it has now started raining. The analyst Simon Hughes suggested on air they had gone off "due to a lack of interest."

The pitch offered very little for the bowlers over the four days and made for some dull viewing at times. But Durham will be happy they kept themselves in this one. And they remain unbeaten on their return to Division One.

  12. NOTTINGHAMSHIRE BEAT LANCASHIRE BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 13 May
    Breaking

    Notts 503 & 81-1 v Lancashire 331 & 252

The match ends in the fitting manner as Haseeb Hameed helps himself to the single Notts require to win.

Hameed finishes on 24 not out, to go with his 247 not out. An aggregate of 271 runs unbeaten.

In fact, the Notts skipper was on the field for every single ball of this match as he leads his side to a first victory of the summer.

Notts pick up 22 points, while it is a third straight defeat for Lancashire who collect just four points.

They remain bottom of Division One and have a lot of work to do to get out of trouble.

  13. HAMPSHIRE DRAW WITH DURHAMpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 13 May
    Breaking

    Hampshire 503 & 62-2 v Durham 432

The players will not be returning to the field at Utilita Bowl.

Bad light and the threat of rain has ended things early, but the result was already known - a draw for Hampshire and Durham but a win for a soul-destroying surface.

Hampshire remain without a win although they pick up 13 points for this draw. Durham are still unbeaten and collect 11 points.

It's the same result as last month when the teams did not get onto the field once in four days!

  14. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 104-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

At 36-3 Kent were in real trouble, however Daniel Bell-Drummond (36*) and Harry Finch (21*) have steered them away from the brink with a 19-over partnership.

Worcestershire have given absolutely everything to this match. Whatever the result they deserve immense credit.

Kent are still 107 runs in arrears but with only 36 overs remaining and seven wickets to find, the odds on a draw are shortening.

Gloucestershire should quite rightly celebrate their thumping win against Northants.

Their last County Championship victory came on 28 September 2022, by 18 runs against Yorkshire at Headingley.

Glamorgan ended a 364 day wait for victory in Division Two with a nine-wicket success at home to Sussex yesterday, now Gloucestershire end an even longer wait.

The longest streak without a win belongs to Derbyshire who have not tasted victory since winning at Worcestershire on 28 July 2022.

    Notts 66-1 - Target 81

Luke Wells concedes a second four off his over, this time a lovely back-foot punch from Haseeb Hameed that beats the fielder out on the cover boundary.

    Only 15 more runs required.

  18. Postpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 13 May

A bit of Luke Wells and his part-time leg spinners.

He begins with a club-style long hop to Will Young. The dream ball for any batter to face.

    Four!

100 up for Kentpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 101-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Brought up with a no ball.

The deficit is still 112, but Daniel Bell-Drummond and Harry Finch have soaked up 17 overs for this 65-run stand which is taking the game away from the plucky visitors.

  20. Postpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 56-1 - Target 81

And there's one of those boundaries as Haseeb Hameed caresses one through the offside.

Hameed has 261 runs in this match, without being out.

No doubt who is going be player of the match!
