  1. 'Lancashire need early breakthroughs'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 & 2-0 v Lancashire 331 & 252 all out

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It goes without saying that Lancashire are going to need early breakthroughs.

What a lift it would give them if they could get rid of Haseeb Hameed early on.

  2. Notts begin chasepublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 2-0 - Target 81

A single apiece for Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater off Tom Bailey get the Notts reply under way.

Remember, they only require 81 to complete a welcome win.

  3. Time for a switch-uppublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 13 May

    Hampshire 503 & 62-2 v Durham 432

We've reached that time in the match.

Ben Raine, who normally bowls right-arm medium stuff is going to bowl some off-breaks.

How long until we can shake hands?

  4. wicket

WICKET Nair c Shaw b de Lange 61published at 14:46 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 171 & 272-6 v Glos 409 & 319-5 dec

You have to say that the big man deserved that.

Karun Nair is caught in about four minds by a short of a length delivery and loops a catch to Josh Shaw running round at mid-wicket as he tries to fend it away from his body.

'Like Merv Hughes in his pomp' is the best we can think of to describe this spell from Marchant de Lange, who clenches both fists and roars with delight as the catch is taken.

Nair batted from two and a half hours, faced 93 balls and hit nine fours, as well as being struck on the helmet and hand by the South African fast bowler. That is a huge blow for Northants.

  5. 50 runs

50 up for Kentpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 53-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch pulls one from Joe Leach through midwicket for four to bring up the Kent 50.

It's not the most important number, it must be said. They remain more than 150 in arrears and have seven wickets remaining and 52 overs to get through today.

  6. Postpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 47-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Feels incredible to say after a weekend of sunburn and 99s but the floodlights are being extended at Canterbury - though not switched on yet, I hasten to add.

It's clouded over and dropped several degrees in the Garden of England in the past couple of hours.

There'll be rain later by the looks of the radar, but not until well after stumps.

Mother Nature not coming to the aid of Kent this time... they'll have to do this themselves.

It's a surprise Marchant de Lange has only played 12 games in all formats for South Africa when you see him bowling like this.

We can't recall a bad delivery in this spell either side of the lunch interval - but he hasn't taken a wicket yet.

Just a single from his latest over takes Karun Nair to 57 not out. Partner Saif Zaib has yet to score.

  8. wicket

LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 252published at 14:38 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 252 all out

Matty Hurst had been a little becalmed since reaching his century and he tries to go a big legside shot off Calvin Harrison.

But going against the spin, he gets it a little higher and it is well taken by Ben Slater at deep midwicket.

Hurst goes for an excellent 104 and the Lancashire innings is finished.

After a quick break, Notts will have the formality of scoring 81 for their first win of the season.

The moment just before lunch when Northants batter Karun Nair was struck on the helmet by Gloucestershire's Marchant de Lange.

Nair is still there but there is no doubt that seeing a quality batter being given a 'working over' by a genuinely fast and hostile bowler and coming through it because of his courage and skill adds an extra level of excitement to the game.

Cricket Ref: No matter the conditions or the situation, it's always a pleasure watching James Vince bat. Underachieved, internationally, but has a World Cup winners medal, which is something most cricketers don't have. #bbccricket, external

That is great news, because this Hampshire-Durham game has moved into bore-draw territory.

  11. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 41-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

That third wicket came from the 1,000th delivery from Worcestershire across these two Kent innings, which began late on Saturday afternoon.

We have spoken at length about Jack Leaning's staying power but a word for Gareth Roderick too.

The Pears opener was at the crease for more than six hours for his 117 in their record total of 618-7d and has now been behind the timbers for all 1,000+ balls bowled too.

An incredible feat of concentration in addition to stamina.

  12. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 13 May

    Hampshire 503 & 59-2 v Durham 432

Felix Organ whacks a long hop from Callum Parkinson through the offside for four.

That clocks up another 50 partnership in this match for Organ and his captain James Vince.

Organ is now on 18 off 87 balls.

  13. wicket

WICKET Bartlett c Bracey b Shaw 42published at 14:29 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 266-5 - target 558

    Would you believe it.

Josh Shaw fires one down the leg-side, George Bartlett gets a thin edge and the diving James Bracey takes a catch Ben Foakes would be proud of.

That ends a stand of 83 with Karun Nair, who has now been joined in the middle by Saif Zaib.

  14. 'A real gutsy innings by Hurst'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 13 May

What a way for Matty Hurst to get to his first three figures.

It's a magnificent century, it's been a real gutsy innings with high skill involved.

A fabulous way to get there.

  15. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 266-4 - target 558

    Ouch part 2.

That is a brute of a delivery from Marchant de Lange which bounces from a decent length, takes the glove but the Gloucestershire gully fielder can't quite get his hand underneath the ball to take the catch.

Nair is showing plenty of courage as well as batting skill in this innings.

De Lange bangs in a short one and the ball flies for four over the slips as Nair takes evasive action.

  16. 250 runs

250 up for Lancashirepublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 252-9

Saqib Mahmood gets off the mark with a fine pull through the legside for four.

    They now lead by 80.

  17. 'Nair has reset in the break'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 255-4 - target 558

    Ed Seabourne

He got crunched on the helmet in the last over before lunch but Karun Nair has reset over the break and he's not offered up a chance yet.

  18. wicket

WICKET: Denly lbw b Smith 10published at 14:23 British Summer Time 13 May

    Kent 407 & 36-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Kent are in real trouble here.

Joe Denly takes half a step and is thumped on the pads while off balance by Nathan Smith's delivery. Simple decision for umpire Ben Debenham.

Harry Finch is promoted above Jack Leaning to join skipper Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Seven wickets needed in 55 overs and change.

  19. 100 runs

100 for Matty Hurstpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 13 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 248-9

A maiden century for the 20-year-old Matty Hurst!

And what a way to do it with another six off Lyndon James, he advances down the pitch and lofts it high over the midwicket boundary for a maximum.

Lancashire will probably lose this game, but Hurst's effort here is a real bonus for the rest of the season.

  20. 50 runs

50 for Karun Nairpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 13 May

    Northants 259-4 - target 558

Karun Nair opens the face and deflects Josh Shaw down to third man for four to reach his half-century off 80 balls.

It's the third time he has passed 50 for Northants this season - the last time, he went on to make 202 not out in a draw with Glamorgan.

If he can convert this into another big score, he will go a long way to helping Northants avoid defeat in this game.
