  1. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 44-6

George Balderson replaces James Anderson, who has 6-19 from his 10 overs this morning.

He'll hope there are some wickets left for him to come back to take later.

  2. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 13-0

Somerset would love to knock over a wicket or two before lunch as they try to restrict the Bears' progress in this second innings.

So far, Rob Yates and Alex Davies have looked solid out there and Warwickshire lead by 141 overall.

Lunch, by the way, is scheduled for 13:10 BST.

  3. 100 runs

100 for Jack Leaningpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 286-7

    Jack Leaning has back-to-back centuries.

The fact they have come seven weeks apart due to him sustaining a broken left hand is pretty extraordinary.

Just as he did against Worcestershire at Canterbury in early May, Leaning has put the team on his back in an attempt to save the game.

He scrambles a single of Mo Abbas, with Grant Stewart having to dive to beat the throw at the other end, to bring up his milestone from 207 balls with 13 boundaries in just under five hours.

Still work for him to do to avoid the follow-on, however. 69 more runs to find.

  4. wicket

WICKET Weatherall b McAndrew 0published at 12:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Northants 205-9 v Sussex - target 284

    Two wickets in three balls!

Nathan McAndrew pitches one up to new man Raphael Weatherall who is caught off balance by the yorker.

It crashes through and knocks back the middle stump.

Sussex can almost taste a fifth victory of the season

  5. wicket

WICKET Sanderson c Hughes b McAndrew 24published at 12:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Northants 205-8 v Sussex - target 284

Big wicket for Sussex - they really needed that!

Ben Sanderson tried to hit Nathan McAndrew down the ground but doesn't get enough on it and lobs it to Daniel Hughes who takes the catch.

Two more to go for Sussex - 71 for the hosts.

  6. Rain stops play (yet again) at The Ovalpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 72-3 v Essex 180

    Talk about stop-start!

The last passage of play lasted 10 balls - and this one lasted just a single delivery.

Shane Snater bowled it to Ben Foakes, then it began to rain again - and we're off for the third time this morning.

    We'll keep you posted...

  7. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 42-6

James Anderson is going to bowl a 10th straight over, of course he is.

Ben Slater has seen some things this morning. The opener is still there and nudges one into the off side to scamper through for a single to move to 20, and balloon Anderson's bowling figures to 6-19.

No new first class best then... unless he takes at least two more wickets, that is...

Just the one run off the over, but his run of wickets in six straight overs is ended.

Will he come back for an 11th? Not like he needs to stay fresh for anything this summer, is it?

  8. 'A walk in the park for the great Jimmy Anderson'published at 12:38 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 41-6

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been an incredible morning session where Jimmy Anderson - with all eyes on him, all the headlines coming into the game, all the build-up before the first Test of the summer, hasn't played any cricket since March and cruises into Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club and takes 6-18 from nine overs as if it's a walk in the park for the great Jimmy Anderson.

  9. wicket

WICKET Stobo lbw b Fuller 28published at 12:36 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 274-7

The partnership is broken at 68. James Fuller traps Charlie Stobo infront.

Grant Stewart will join Jack Leaning, who is 98 not out, as they attempt to save the game.

  10. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 0-0

Warwickshire's second innings is under way, with the visitors looking to extend this very handy first-innings lead of 128.

Rob Yates plays and misses in this opening over, a maiden from Josh Davey and there's also a bold leave by the left-hander, with the ball nipping back towards his off stump.

  11. wicket

WICKET Libby c sub (Hogg) b Siddle 19published at 12:33 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 60-2 v Durham - target 231

    One brings two for Durham!

Jake Libby tries to whip Peter Siddle through the legside but picks out sub fielder Daniel Hogg at midwicket and both openers are back in the hutch.

    Durham right back on top.

Rob Jones joins first innings top scorer Kashif Ali.

    The Pears need 170 more.

  12. 'Stokes makes the breakthrough for Durham'published at 12:31 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 60-1 v Durham - target 231

    Trevor Owens
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Ben Stokes makes the breakthrough for Durham as he has Gareth Roderick caught behind for 38.

Roderick went to hook a short delivery and feathered a catch through to Oliie Robinson.

That could prove a big wicket for the home side - Worcestershire need a further 175 for victory.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Patterson-White c Williams b Anderson 4published at 12:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 40-6

Over number nine coming up from James Anderson.

He's taken wickets in each of his last five. Wild horses couldn't drag him away from his mark at the moment.

And he has a SIXTH. Liam Patterson-White comes forward and edges to Will WIlliams at fourth slip.

His 95th Lancashire first class appearance across 22 seasons. Anderson now has 373 wickets, and counting. His best figures were 7-19. He now has 6-18 from nine overs - having not played since March, remember.

    Some player. Some spectacle, this.

  14. wicket

WICKET Roderick c Robinson b Stokes 38published at 12:29 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 56-1 v Durham - target 231

Ben Stokes with the breakthrough - who else?

The England skipper bangs in short and Gareth Roderick tries the hook, but it's too close to his body and he tickles an edge behind.

Ollie Robinson leaps like a salmon to take a superb catch above his head.

    Durham really needed that.

  15. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 2 July

    #bbccricket

Justin Broad (28) and Ben Sanderson (23) are fighting hard as Northants reignite their victory hopes against leaders Sussex.

The pair have put on an unbroke 38 for the eighth wicket and have taken the runs required down to 82. It's the hope that kills you.

They miss Ollie Robinson who is off the pitch after taking those early wickets.

At Grace Road, Leicestershire were finally bowled out for 372, with Ben Green making a first-class best score of 77, to set Middlesex a mammoth victory target of 466.

Not a great start to the chase as the visitors have lost Sam Robson for two and are on 22-1.

Gloucs have lost Cameron Bancroft for 184, but James Bracey remains unbeaten on 141 as the hosts move on to 487-5, 469 ahead of Glamorgan.

And Derbyshire are in a whole world of trouble after losing openers Luis Reece and Mitch Wagstaff without a run on the board.

Wayne Madsen has helped them to 24-2 - just the 351 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat.

  16. Postpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 266-6

60 runs added this morning by Kent, which means a partnership of 60 between Jack Leaning and Charlie Stobo.

Leaning has inched along to 93 from 196 deliveries while Stobo has 26 from 61.

88 shy of the follow-on target, at present.

  17. Rain stops play at The Ovalpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 72-3 v Essex 180

No sooner were we back on than the rain returned...

Just 10 balls were possible in that brief passage of play, although one of them was worth viewing as Jamie Smith clipped a half-volley sweetly to the midwicket fence.

Smith is on 29, Ben Foakes is 13 and unfortunately the covers are back on.

  18. wicket

WICKET James c Williams b Anderson 5published at 12:18 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 34-5

Will James Anderson bowl an eighth straight over to start?

You bet he will. He's on a fivefer already, remember, he's only had 54 of those before in first class cricket.

AND THERE IT IS! NUMBER 55.

    5-13

Anderson gets some extra bounce, again, Lyndon James gets a leading edge which loops the ball to Will Williams in the slips.

Southport & Birkdale CC is dreamland, at present.

  19. wicket

    WICKET: Pretorius b Hannon-Dalby 1published at 12:18 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412

Six wickets for Olly Hannon-Dalby and he finishes the Somerset innings in style, with a yorker that uproots Migael Pretorius' off stump.

It's a season's best performance of 6-56 by the Bears seamer, while Michael Booth finishes with 3-68.

Craig Overton finishes 35 not out and he'll soon switch to bowling duties as Warwickshire begin their second innings, 128 runs in front.

  20. 50 up for Worcestershirepublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 50-0 v Durham - target 231

It's a touch streaky but a boundary brings up the 50 opening partnership for the Pears.

Ben Stokes has his hands on his head and then transfers them to hips after Gareth Roderick plays a long way away from his body.

He's not in control of the drive but it finds its way to the fine leg boundary.
