  1. wicket

WICKET Hameed b Anderson 6published at 11:39 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 10-1

    Who else?

First ball of James Anderson's fourth over draws Haseeb Hameed forward, he plays the ball down with soft hands but there's too much momentum, the ball bounces behind him and loops up off the this bouncy track and kisses the bails on its way back to earth.

The prized scalp of Hameed, in single figures no less.

Will Young joins Ben Slater in the middle.

  2. Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 237-6

Keith Barker is the morning's first change, replacing James Fuller.

Jack Leaning tries to drive his second delivery to mid-off but instead flashes an edge past the diving Liam Dawson in the slips and all the way to the rope.

Frustrating in the moment, sure, but it will give Hampshire plenty of encouragement.

The deficit is down to 268. Leaning is into the 80s.

  3. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 239-8 v Warwicks 412

Craig Overton isn't hanging around and he gets a slice of fortune as he goes to cut a ball from Ed Barnard that comes back into him, with a thick outside edge flying wide of the slips for four.

Overton has quickly moved on to 13, while James Rew finally got to resume his innings after hanging around at the non-striker's end for the first five overs.

He's made three so far and Somerset are still 24 short of saving the follow-on.

  4. Postpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 18-0 v Durham - target 231

Gareth Roderick picks up a couple off Matthew Potts.

He then runs the ball down to third man and he and Jake Libby run through for three more valuable runs.

    Five from the over.

  5. Postpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 10-0

Lovely outground fare at Southport & Birkdale CC.

James Anderson is just short of a length on fifth stump and Haseeb Hameed accepts the gift, carving away through the covers.

Long chase for Josh Bohannon all the way to the rope, but the ball just about wins, ending up in the hands of a woman in a fold-out chair a yard or two past the boundary.

She flips the ball up into his hand with a rueful 'hard luck' smile.

Anderson has given up just the two scoring balls in the 18 he's delivered so far this morning.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops play at the Ovalpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 63-3 v Essex 180

Oh dear - it's been gloomy overhead all morning but now we have a light shower as well and the umpires have decided that's reason enough to head back to the sanctuary of the pavilion.

The rain doesn't look too heavy, so hopefully it won't be too long before we're back under way.

  7. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 13-0 v Durham - target 231

Good start from Jake Libby who pushes Ben Raine's first ball of his second over down the ground for two.

The Durham strike bowler then has the teapot out in frustration as an inside edge squirts off Libby's bat and goes for four.

    218 to win.

  8. Postpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 63-3 v Essex 180

Fairly sedate stuff from Surrey so far this morning, but they'll be delighted to have avoided losing any further wickets as they extend the lead to 145.

Essex have just made their first bowling change of the day, with South African seamer Eathan Bosch taking over from Shane Snater and going for a couple of singles first up.

Jamie Smith has advanced to 23, with Ben Foakes on 11.

The former England wicketkeeper - it’s a long list - is in superb touch and James Bracey brings up his 12th first-class ton with a single off Timm van der Gugten.

It’s come off 131 balls with nine fours and a six and has helped Gloucestershire into a mighty strong position.

They’re now 403 in front with plenty of batting to come.

  10. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 221-6

No news is good news, from a Kent perspective at least.

The ball is swinging about in Southampton and the majority of Kent's 15 runs this morning have come via byes.

Jack Leaning is on 75 while Charlie Stobo has five from 19 deliveries. They are facing a fired-up Kyle Abbott and James Fuller at the other end.

The visitors need 135 more to avoid the follow-on.

  11. Worcs begin chase of 231published at 11:25 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 7-0 v Durham - target 231

A tidy opening over from Ben Raine of five dots ends with a boundary as Gareth Roderick flicks a four off his pads to get the chase up and running.

Matthew Potts opens at the other end and and outside edge from Jake Libby, third ball, drops just short of Alex Lees at third slip.

Single and two leg byes from the over.

  12. dropped catch

Hameed dropped on twopublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 3-0

Haseeb Hameed has been dropped on two by Chris Green, a very presentable diving chance as the opener tried to clip Tom Bailey away through midwicket.

Three runs come off the over, with James Anderson returning to bowl the third.

  13. 'Pears need 231 for victory'published at 11:22 British Summer Time 2 July

    Durham 190 & 152 v Worcs 112

    Trevor Owens
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Durham added only four runs for their final wicket this morning and are all out for 152.

Bas de Leede is the last man to go for three.

Worcestershire will need 231 for victory. They will need the highest score of the match if they are to do it.

  14. wicket

WICKET: Aldridge c Yates b Booth 14published at 11:21 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 222-8 v Warwicks

OK, so maybe it wasn't such a good idea for Kasey Aldridge to face every ball... because that's his last for this innings and it wasn't a great way to depart.

Michael Booth sends down a widish delivery and Aldridge hangs out the bat to dab it into the hands of Rob Yates at first slip.

Craig Overton comes out to bat now. Maybe he'll let James Rew face the odd delivery?

  15. wicket

WICKET Keogh c Carson b Robinson 12published at 11:19 British Summer Time 2 July

    Northants 149-5 v Sussex - target 284

It's getting harder for Northants as they lose a second wicket of the morning to Ollie Robinson.

The Sussex man already had two big lbw shouts to Keogh before catching the shoulder of Keogh's bat.

It pops up to Jack Carson at fourth slip.

  16. Anderson starts with a maidenpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 0-0

James Anderson bowling to former teammate Haseeb Hameed to open the innings.

He's not played since March but you would not know it. Straight into his groove but Hameed is able to negotiate the over, a maiden, with a series of defensive strokes.

  17. 100 for Jonathan Tattersallpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 2 July

    Derby 76 v Yorks 433-6

A boundary off Daryn Dupavillon brings up a third career first-class century for Jonathan Tattersall and it’s put Yorkshire in an almost impregnable position.

The wicketkeeper has brought up the milestone off 163 balls, featuring 13 fours.

How many more can he add before Yorkshire think about a possible declaration?

    They’re already miles ahead.

  18. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 222-7 v Warwicks 412

Although he's effectively the senior batter of the Somerset pair at the crease, James Rew has yet to get off the mark - or indeed face a ball this morning.

Maybe Kasey Aldridge has come out with instructions to dominate the strike? It seems to be working, anyway, as he's already added valuable runs with two straight drives to the boundary to reach 14.

Somerset need another 41 to save the follow-on.

  19. Anderson and Lancs back on the fieldpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 0-0

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater stride out at Southport to begin the Notts reply, but barely a soul is looking at them.

A 41-year-old bloke from Burnley has been warming up on the outfield. Short back and sides with a floppy shock of slightly highlighted hair at the front.

James Michael Anderson. One of the greatest bowlers to put on whites. 22 years after making his first class debut for Lancashire, could be making his final appearance for his one and only club.

Guess who is going to bowl the first over?

  20. DURHAM ALL OUT FOR 152published at 11:10 British Summer Time 2 July
    Breaking

    Worcs need 231 to win

    That didn't last long.

Durham added just four runs this morning, three of them to Bas de Leede before Ben Allison finds his edge and Rob Jones takes the catch at second slip.

Ben Allison ends wt 2-30 after a superb display, backing up the four wickets of Tom Taylor and Nathan Smith.

The game is in the balance, but the hosts remain favourites.

Worcestershire will need the biggest innings score of the match to win it.
