  1. WICKET: Clark c Bosch b Porter 30published at 17:02 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 192-7 v Essex 180

Jamie Porter makes the breakthrough for Essex!

Jordan Clark had been struck on the helmet by the two previous deliveries and he then tries to carve another short one to third man, where it sails up for Ethan Bosch to take the catch.

    Three more wickets to fall...

  2. 50 partnership for Rhodes and Hainpublished at 17:00 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 168-2

It looks as though Warwickshire have indeed decided to lift the tempo - which had been sluggish, to say the least - and they've added 26 from the last four overs.

Sam Hain looks to be playing with more freedom now and he's on 21, with Will Rhodes 35 not out and the Bears' lead is approaching 300.

  3. 'Pears pick up first win at Chester-le-Street'published at 16:57 2 July

Worcestershire run out at victors here for their first Championship win of the season and a first win on this ground.

  4. WORCESTERHIRE BEAT DURHAM BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 16:56 2 July
    Breaking

    Worcs 231-4 v Durham - target 231

Peter Siddle in for what might be his last over in England.

Ethan Brookes pushes forward to the first in defence. No run.

But there it is! A push down the ground beats the diving Ben Stokes and Brookes has the winning run.

He finishes unbeaten on 20, whiel Kashif Ali finishes with a superb unbeaten 76 off 118 balls.

It's been a terrific fightback win for the Pears after conceding a 72-run deficit in a low scoring first innings.

Stokes will head off for England duty with defeat, but in an incredibly difficult season, it's a first championship win and reason to cheer for Worcestershire.

  5. WICKET Bell-Drummond b Dawson 19published at 16:52 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 48-2

A perfect ball from Liam Dawson bowls Daniel Bell-Drummond through the gate.

Not much he could do, came forward to meet the flight but the ball spun past the edge and hit the timbers.

    Dawson celebrates with vigour.

Kent in bother. Jack Leaning is back in the middle after a couple of hours off the field.

He made 118 in the first innings, he might need another here.

  6. Worcs need one to winpublished at 16:51 2 July

    Worcs 230-4 v Durham - target 231

Ben Stokes tempts Kashif Ali with a short ball, but the batter resists the urge to hook.

Ali then pushes a single into the offside for a single.

Lovely shot from Ethan Brookes who drives through the covers for four. It takes him to 18 and his best first-class score.

More importantly the Pears just need two more.

Brookes pushes a single off the final ball to bring the scores level.

  7. Postpublished at 16:49 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 152-2

Sam Hain has just scored more runs in his last two balls than he'd managed in almost an hour at the crease.

Hain has really dropped anchor this afternoon, but he lifts the shackles by coming down the track to Kasey Aldridge and creaming him through the covers for four.

A single follows from the next delivery and Will Rhodes then cuts Aldridge for another boundary - have the Bears decided it's time to push the accelerator?

  8. Siddle maidenpublished at 16:48 2 July

    Worcs 224-4 v Durham - target 231

Ethan Brookes plays out a maiden to Peter Siddle.

That's a fourth maiden for Siddle. Tidy stuff.

This is the Australian's last appearance for Durham - will he get another bowl?

    Seven runs needed.

  9. Postpublished at 16:48 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 47-1

Ben Compton goes back and across to a Liam Dawson delivery which grips and turns off the pitch but the appeal falls on deaf ears.

Think it struck him outside the line. He wasn't thrilled with his lbw dismissal in the first innings, he'd have been aghast if that one had been given.

Compton remains on 23 with Daniel Bell-Drummond on 19. The deficit is still 115.

  10. Worcs need seven to winpublished at 16:45 2 July

    Worcs 224-4 v Durham - target 231

Kashif Ali (75) pushes Ben Stokes through the covers for two more to retain the strike. Seven needed.

A nice drive finds the fielder at cover for nothing.

Extra pace from Stokes and Ali fences at one outside fourth stump. Nothing silly, now.

Then an outside edge goes to ground.

Durham's bowling hasn't been great but nothing has gone for them.

  11. Worcs need nine to winpublished at 16:41 2 July

    Worcs 222-4 v Durham - target 231

Kashif Ali nudges Peter Siddle's first ball into the offside for a single. Eleven required.

Ethan Brookes pushes forward to try and nullify Siddle's inswing and then a convincing forward defensive as Siddle goes straighter.

    Four dots.

Siddle shapes one into the right-hander who tucks it into a gap in the legside and they hurry back for two.

    We're into single figures.

  12. 50 partnership for Patel and Clarkpublished at 16:40 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 180-6 v Essex 180

Ryan Patel's produced some classy strokeplay today and he unfurls a perfectly timed - and placed - cover drive off Eathan Bosch to bring up the 50 partnership with a boundary.

Crucial runs here for Surrey as Patel, on 24 and Jordan Clark, who has 26, have increased their advantage to 262.

  13. Worcs need 12 to winpublished at 16:37 2 July

    Worcs 219-4 v Durham - target 231

Kashif Ali is a little hurried by Ben Stokes but manages to nudge a single down to third man for a single.

Stokes lets out an exasperated cry as Ethan Brookes almost drags on. Instead the inside edge flies past the stumps and to the fine leg boundary.

    Three dots. A dozen required.

  14. Worcs need 17 to winpublished at 16:33 2 July

    Worcs 214-4 v Durham - target 231

Kashif Ali has been magnificent in this match with a half-century in both innings.

He drives Peter Siddle's second ball stylishly through extra cover for two.

Ali then dabs the next past the slips and dashes back for a hurried second run. Home.

He opens the face and guides the next through the offside to go to 71 off 18 balls.

Siddle produces a beauty to beat the outside edge of Ethan Brookes who just manages to lift the bat in time.

  15. WICKET Slater lbw b Lyon 17published at 16:31 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 40-1

Ben Slater goes for the first time today.

He steps back in his crease, tries to play off the back-foot at one from Nathan Lyon which straightens up on him and thuds him on the pads plum in front.

Will Young joins Haseeb Hameed in the middle.

  16. Postpublished at 16:30 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 129-2

We've still got 40 overs scheduled in this final session at Taunton, so plenty of opportunity for Warwickshire to step on the gas and push their lead out of Somerset's reach.

Will Rhodes collects a boundary from the first over after tea, clipping Migael Pretorius through midwicket and that nudges the Bears' advantage up to 257.

  17. Postpublished at 16:29 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 33-1

Lefty Liam Dawson is brought on after tea so we'll have a spell of duel spin with Felix Organ at the other end.

There are foot holes at either end as we near the end of the third day.

  18. Worcs need 22 to winpublished at 16:28 2 July

    Worcs 209-4 v Durham - target 231

Ethan Brookes defends into the legside to Ben Stokes' first ball and then plays a neat forward defensive to the next.

He plays a decent-looking leave and turns the next into leg, high on the bat.

    Two more dots follow. Maiden.

  19. Postpublished at 16:27 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 39-0

    Haseeb HameedImage source, Rex Features

Haseeb Hameed picks up where he left off with a boundary off Tom Bailey to begin the evening session at Southport. He is 18 not out, one ahead of Ben Slater.

Nathan Lyon will have a twirl at the other end.

  20. Postpublished at 16:25 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 162-6 v Essex 180

Paul Walter gets the evening session started in south London, sending down a maiden to Ryan Patel and the last ball is a beauty that moves away from the outside edge.

Essex need to try and knock over these last four wickets fairly swiftly, you feel - they won't fancy chasing a 300-plus target in the fourth innings.
