    Worcs 139-3 v Durham - target 231

    Trevor Owens
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worcestershire pair Kashif Ali and Adam Hose are battling away and they have put on 71 so far - there are now fewer than 100 runs needed.

Ben Stokes and Peter Siddle are back into the attack as Durham ring the changes in an effort to make the breakthrough.

Stokes hits Kashif Ali with a bouncer and Kashif requires treatment from the physio before we can continue.

    Worcs 139-3 v Durham - target 231

Bas de Leede loses his trousers in a vigorous fielding effort but cannot prevent a single as Adam Hose drops and run to the frustration of Ben Stokes.

Kashif Ali turns another ball nicely off his hips into the legside for a single.

Really sensible batting from this pair. Durham are struggling to come up with answers.

    The Pears need 92 more.

Tea is fixed at 16:00 BST.

That's a half-century for Rob Yates - and he gets there in style, launching Jack Leach over long-on for the first six of this Bears second innings.

Yates brings up his 50 from 90 balls and it's his fourth of the season as this opening stand with Alex Davies continues to grow.

WICKET Parkinson c Vince b Barker 29published at 14:50 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343

    Sorry, Kent fans.

Matt Parkinson edges Keith Barker to James Vince who takes a good two-handed catch in the slips.

Kent finish seven runs shy of a third batting bonus point.

Vince has chosen to enforce the follow-on with 54 overs remaining in the day and 96 to come tomorrow.

They trail by 162 and that's almost entirely thanks to Jack Leaning and his gutsy 118.

  5. Worcs need 98 to winpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 133-3 v Durham - target 231

Adam Hose is growing in confidence and punches Peter Siddle delivery straight back past the bowler's despairing reach for four.

Kashif Ali (33) has to jam his bat down to keep out a Ben Stokes yorker and good running earns a single.

A Hose single takes him to 24 and the runs required into double figures.

This partnership is up to 68 - Durham need to start making things happen.

  6. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343-9

They say it's the hope that kills you...

Kent fans will be feeling that hope at present. Matt Parkinson (29*) and Nathan Gilchrist (6*) have hauled Kent to just 162 runs behind Hampshire's imposing first innings total.

They are agonisingly close to avoiding the follow-on, which might go a long way to salvaging something from this game from the jaws of another heavy defeat.

  7. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 95-9

James Anderson is taken out of the attack.

Does this mean there will be no new career best bowling figures? 7-35 from 16 overs might have to do.

George Balderson takes the ball, with Ben Slater on strike.

  8. Division Two round-uppublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 2 July

After losing two early wickets, Max Holden (36 not out) and Leus du Plooy (27 not out) have steered Middlesex past the 100 mark without further damage.

Just the 365 more to tick off at Grace Road.

Eddie Byrom (8 not out) and Billy Root (7 not out) have begun Glamorgan's daunting chase of 593 after Gloucestershire declared on 610-5. The visitors are 15-0.

Derbyshire have lost a further wicket since lunch as Aneurin Donald became Ben Coad's third victim.

David Lloyd has reached an unbeaten 55 but the hosts need another 270 to make Yorkshire bat again.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Ben Slaterpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 95-9

    Ben Slater take a bow.

He flashes a cut away off James Anderson to bring up his half-century from 110 balls with his seventh four.

    He has 52 of Nottinghamshire's 95 runs.

Given the circumstances this is one the opener will remember for a long time.

  10. Back out at The Ovalpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 107-4 v Essex 180

For the umpteenth time today, play has resumed!

Jamie Porter completes his over, conceding three more runs to Jamie Smith and Sai Sudharsan and Surrey's lead extends to 189.

In theory, there are 56 overs left today, but you'd be a bold gambler to bet on all of those being bowled.

  11. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 68-0

A sniff of a chance for Somerset as Kasey Aldridge bangs one in short and Alex Davies fends it off at pace towards the gully area, but Tom Lammonby is slow to react and the ball whizzes past him.

Davies has 27, while opening partner Rob Yates has advanced to 39.

    Nathan LyonImage source, Rex Features

Nathan Lyon is returning in place of Tom Bailey. Does this count as Anderson and Lyon in tandem? If he gets a wicket here it will have to do.

Ben Slater is content to pad the spinner away. He has 48 from 106 balls. Keeping his focus amid the carnage.

This is Lyon's seventh and final Championship game for the Red Rose this season.

  13. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 123-3 v Durham - target 231

Peter Siddle is back into the attack as Durham seek a momentum-changing breakthrough.

Kashif Ali top-scored in the Pears first knock with 41, and is looking good again, but almost gets himself out.

He steps down the pitch and takes a big heave at Siddle's second ball.

It misses everything and Ali has to quickly move back into his crease as Ollie Robinson collects.

Ali ducks under a bit of short stuff before a back foot punch finds Ben Stokes.

    That's a first maiden in 13 overs.

  14. 'Surrey lead but they need to be careful'published at 14:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 262 & 104-4 v Essex 180

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Surrey are currently leading this contest by 186 runs but they just need to be careful.

Careful to get the right balance between possibly setting Essex a target - not too little either because they definitely do not want to lose this game - but also trying to set a target where they've got enough time to bowl Essex out.

  15. Pears acceleratepublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Worcs 123-3 v Durham - target 231

One of the shots of the day as Adam Hose welcomes Ben Stokes back into the attack with a lovely cover drive for four.

Stokes, replacing the expensive Bas de Leede, raises his hands in exasperation. as Hose shoulders arms to a ball which swung back in late and narrowly missed the off-stump.

Worrying times for Durham - they are leaking runs at a rate of knots.

The Pears now need just 108 more for a brilliant win.

  16. 50 partnership for Yates and Daviespublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 52-0

It's been steady, sensible batting by the Bears' opening pair as they look to cement their advantage over Somerset.

Alex Davies brings up the 50 partnership with a clinical straight drive off Migael Pretorius that rolls away to the rope.

He has 23, with Rob Yates on 27 and Warwickshire are now 180 ahead.

    Take a bow James Bracey!

The Gloucestershire gloveman brings up his double-century off with his ?? four of a mammoth innings, off Kiran Carlson. The double-ton come off just 230 balls.

It far eclipses his previous first-class best of 177. A single takes him to 204.

And that will do for the hosts. They have set Glamorgan what you would think is a nominal 593 for victory.

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 330-8

Kent still 25 short of the follow-on target but Jack Leaning is cleaned up by Kyle Abbott.

What a knock from the Yorkshireman. 228 balls with 14 fours in approaching six hours at the crease.

One wicket in hand. Nathan Gilchrist joins Matt Parkinson.

  19. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 284 v Warwicks 412 & 42-0

Warwickshire are ticking along nicely since lunch, extending their lead to 170 overall without too many concerns.

Rob Yates has now overtaken opening partner Alex Davies, with 23 to his 17 and Somerset have Jack Leach wheeling away at one end as he tries to extract some turn.

  20. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 2 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 84-9

Dane Paterson survives the James Anderson over.

Tom Bailey returns at the other end, trying to take the wicket which would deny Jimmy an eight-wicket haul for the first time in his career.
