  1. wicket

WICKET Clarke b Booth 12published at 13:37 British Summer Time

    Notts 55-3 v Warwickshire

    Joe ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

Michael Booth comes into the attack and Joe Clarke eases him through the offside for four which moves him on to 12.

He got 229 not out last season in this fixture.

But he won't be repeating that this time around - he's gone!

Booth tries a yorker which shapes in a little bit and rattles Clarke's off stump.

    Jack Haynes joins Freddie McCann.

  2. 50 runs

50 up for Nottinghamshirepublished at 13:34 British Summer Time

    Notts 51-2 v Warwickshire

Joe Clarke and Freddie McCann are having to work hard out here as the Bears bowlers have hit their straps straightaway.

McCann plays out six dots to Oliver Hannon-Dalby - who is one away from a 50th championship wicket of the campaign - before an acrobatic stop in the legside keeps Clarke down to a single.

Ed Barnard is then worked past cover for a pressure-relieving boundary from McCann to bring up the Notts fifty in the 24th over.

  3. wicket

WICKET Organ c Aldridge b Leach 12published at 13:27 British Summer Time

    Somerset 136 v Hants 80-6

Kasey Aldridge with another catch slightly atoning for the early miss of Toby Albert yesterday.

It is not the opener, but Felix Organ, the off-spinner and occasional opener well held at second slip off Jack Leach's second ball of the morning.

The perfect left-arm orthodox spinner's delivery.

Ben Brown, the former Sussex wicketkeeper in at number eight now and he sweeps for four first ball to get off the mark - a bit like James Vince did off spin yesterday - this could be dramatic.

  4. Clarke eyes milestonepublished at 13:25 British Summer Time

    Notts 46-2 v Warwickshire

If Joe Clarke needed any motivation in the final match of the season, there is a tempting target.

He started the match needing 95 more Championship runs to reach the magical 1,000 mark for the season.

The 28-year-old has struggled for runs of late - his last six innings have brought him just 110 and 67 of those came in one knock against Essex.

He has chipped seven off the runs required, but plays out a maiden to Ed Barnard who now has figures of 1-15 off 11 overs.

  5. Nut time at Tauntonpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time

    Somerset 136 v Hants 76-5

Jack Leach removes his hands from the hand warmers in his pockets, but keeps his cable-knit sleeveless sweater on for his first twirl of day two.

The two Hampshire batters played the seam more comfortably than their teammates did yesterday evening, so Lewis Gregory may even go dual spin now...

  6. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time

    Notts 46-2 v Warwickshire

Just a reminder that Notts need a maximum of 10 points from this game to guarantee their survival in Division One.

Warwickshire require a max of five points to stay up.

And that's all if Lancashire take the full 24 from Worcestershire.

  7. Postpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time

    Notts 46-2 v Warwickshire

Freddie McCann takes a single off Ed Barnard to keep the strike against OHD and move into double figures.

The 19-year-old plays a lovely drive which is worth four, but a super diving stop by the man wide of mid-off prevents a run.

OHD is probing nicely here and tempts McCann into a big swing. Play and miss. Maiden.

  8. No play at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time

Essex 116-1 v Surrey - no play Friday, wet outfield

    Another one bites the dust.

Heavy overnight and morning rain has left the outfield too wet at Essex and day two has been abandoned.

That's five matches called off without a ball bowled today.

We await news from Headingley now where there will be another inspection at 13:45 BST...

  9. Postpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time

    Somerset 136 v Hants 73-5

Lovely shot for four through the covers from Felix Organ as Lewis Gregory just over pitches.

Still no spin yet, Alfie Ogborne is doing just fine alongside his skipper who has his dose of daily injections getting him through just one more match this season.

  10. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time

    Notts 45-2 v Warwickshire

Joe Clarke looks back with a little concern as he edges a testing delivery from Ed Barnard along the ground and through first slip.

The former Worcestershire batter is off the mark with two before a more controlled edge flies past the three slips for three.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby looks to tempt Clarke outside off stump, but the batter resists some teasing deliveries.

He then flicks nicely off his legs for two as Hannon-Dalby goes a little straight.

  11. Notts up and runningpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time

    Notts 38-2 v Warwickshire

The cable-knit is being widely worn despite the sunshine as a biting cold wind sweeps through Trent Bridge.

Freddie McCann gets things up and running with a single into the offside from the day's first delivery off Ed Barnard.

McCann then strokes a textbook drive through the covers as Oliver Hannon-Dalby's second ball of the day is a little too full.

  12. Postpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time

    Somerset 136 v Hants 67-5

Alfie Ogborne takes the opening over from the River End.

The left-armer who only plays against Hampshire for Somerset, having just comeback from a two-match loan for Kent, got James Vince on his first-class debut and bowled nicely for just one reward yesterday.

Only runs behind square off the outside edge in the opening overs here.

  13. Lunch at Cardiffpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 61-0 v Gloucestershire

Spinner Zafar Gohar will bowl the last over before the break in this truncated session of play.

Asa Tribe is forward to block into the off side.

Zafar floats the ball up and Tribe continues to defend.

The final ball is driven safely to mid off and that's lunch.

A bright session of play for Glamorgan after being put into bat.

Both openers came close to edging behind but were reprieved when the ball didn't carry.

Will Smale has 36 not out on Championship debut for the Welsh county and Tribe is on 22.

  14. Day two under way at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:59 British Summer Time

    Notts 33-2 v Warwickshire

The Warwickshire players have taken the field and are joined by Notts batters Freddie McCann and Joe Clarke as we make a late start at Trent Bridge.

Tea will be at 15:20, with 75.4 overs now scheduled for the day.

Clarke is yet to face a ball after Ben Slater's dismissal shortly before the early close on day one, and McCann resets again on four.

Ed Barnard with four balls left to finish his interrupted eighth over. The sun is shining brightly. Play!

  15. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 61-0 v Gloucestershire

Four runs to Asa Tribe, cutting Tom Price past point.

Tribe defends a straighter delivery down the ground.

A leg side ball is clipped square for a single.

Will Smale is forward, playing and missing with a defensive push.

An encouraging over for Gloucestershire, who are finding some movement with the ball.

But a couple of edges haven't carried.

  16. Cricket in the West Country!published at 12:54 British Summer Time

    Somerset 136 v Hants 62-5

    Now we have play!

Toby Albert, who had that life dropped by Kasey Aldridge at second slip off Lewis Gregory which could have made Hants 0-2, is back out with Felix Organ.

Organ is a better bat than number seven suggests, often opening or at three when the main men are injured, similar to the Lewis Goldsworthy mould with a part-time spin option too.

Gregory to bowl the first over.

  17. Postpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 56-0 v Gloucestershire

This hasn't been plain sailing for Glamorgan by any means, but a bright start even so.

Will Smale plays inside the line, allowing the ball to go through to keeper James Bracey.

He'll give this ball the treatment though, lacing a full delivery well outside off stump through cover for four.

He'll get two more driven with a thick edge to deep third.

  18. Play abandoned at New Roadpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time

Worcs 119-7 v Lancs - no play on Friday, wet outfield

Just before we get some play at Taunton and Trent Bridge, news of a fourth abandonment on day two.

The outfield is too wet in Worcester and the umpires have called it off.

Not good news for Lancashire, who need to win to stand any realistic chance of staying in Division One.

  19. Postpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 50-0 v Gloucestershire

Double bowling change. Tom Price is coming on at the River End.

Two slips and a gully are in place.

The first ball is jabbed down late by Asa Tribe, almost guiding the ball into the stumps on the bounce!

Tribe tries to clip a ball to leg but hasn't timed it. No run.

He connects with the fifth ball though, which is whipped through square leg for four.

    That's the innings 50 in 11.5 overs.

  20. Postpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 46-0 v Gloucestershire

Archie Bailey's first delivery is wide and crashed away through the off side by Will Smale for four.

Bailey tightens his line and Smale leaves the ball outside off stump.

He tries to force one ball square into the off side but the ball is blocked at point.
