    Warwks 148-5 v Hants 298

Hampshire remain in the ascendency but they'll want to break this partnership between Dan Mousley and Jacob Bethell, now worth 65.

Mousley will be on strike first in this session of play, facing Muhammad Abbas.

He's 51 not out and Bethell has 26.

  2. Play resumes at Canterburypublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 168-1

Lancashire hold a huge advantage here, less than 100 adrift with nine wickets in hand and runs flowing at exactly four per over.

Early wickets are n absolute must for Kent.

Charlie Stobo will bowl the first post-lunch over to Luke Wells, who is close to a first century of the season on 83 not out.

His batting partner Josh Bohannon is at the non-striker's end on 71.

  3. Bancroft begins with boundarypublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 24 June

    Yorks 456 v Gloucs 5-0

They took a slightly early lunch at North Marine Road following the fall of Yorkshire's last wicket so the teams are already back out in the middle.

Vishwa Fernando has the new ball for the Tykes and Cameron Bancroft steers his first delivery through the covers for four.

No power in that one, just timing and placement.

Ryan Higgins' latest century for Middlesex again highlighted how many players there are who keep producing the goods on an almost weekly basis for their county sides but never get a sniff of an international call.

  5. Opening combination soon partedpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 60-1 - lunch

    Anthony Gibson

An evenly-balanced session in what has been, so far, an evenly balanced game.

Somerset's latest opening combination, Andy Umeed and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, proved no more successful than their predecessors, with Umeed falling to a sharp catch at third slip by Will Young for just four.

But 'Pepsi', as Kohler-Cadmore is known, enlivened proceedings with a six down the ground, as he and Tom Lammonby made largely untroubled progress to lunch.

A half-century from Marnus Labuschagne has been the highlight of the first session as he took the attack to the visitors under cloudy skies, reaching 50 off 64 balls with his ninth boundary.

Labuschagne and Kiran Carlson have added 74 at a good lick under cloudy skies despite the bowlers getting some help from the pitch.

Glamorgan started on 36-0 but Northants’ inexperienced attack kept the brakes on as spinner Liam Patterson-White had Eddie Byrom caught at slip for 22 in his first over.

Billy Root was struck a painful blow on the hand but battled to 41 before being trapped lbw by Justin Broad, the ball keeping slightly low.

With the wicket likely to deteriorate, first-innings advantage looks particularly important this week.

A timely reminder from Ollie Robinson to the England selectors this morning after a devastating three-wicket opening spell.

Bowling with pace, accuracy and bounce Robinson was virtually unplayable, passing the outside edge on numerous occasions.

Wiaan Mulder and Peter Hanscomb have since steadied the Leicestershire ship, but Sussex are well on top at the interval.

John Simpson finished 183 not out in Sussex's first innings - that's 388 runs against Leicestershire this season without being out.

  9. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 24 June

    Middlesex 433 v Derbyshire 28-1

Derbyshire lose their first wicket in the penultimate over before lunch as Nathan Fernandes takes a brilliant catch at point to dismiss David Lloyd for 21 from the bowling of Ethan Bamber.

Earlier, Middlesex all-rounder Ryan Higgins was last to go for 163 after a 226-ball innings featuring four sixes and 16 fours.

It looked like they would struggle to get to 400 when they were 362-9 but Higgins added 71 for the last wicket with Bamber - who finished on 21 not out - before he was caught off Luis Reece.

  10. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 60-1

Tom Kohler-Cadmore takes back-to-back boundaries off the final over of the morning session, delivered by Lyndon James, to motor on to 36.

It's been an even morning, with Nottinghamshire adding 34 runs this morning, picking up a third batting point before being bowled out for 360.

Olly Stone made 83, Dane Paterson struck a quick 14, and Dillon Pennington was left unbeaten on 29.

Pennington then continued his fine morning by removing Andrew Umeed for four.

But Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Lammonby (16 not out) have navigated a tricky spell to with an unbroken 52-run second-wicket stand.

  11. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 148-5 v Hants 298

Just a couple of runs come off the 40th over, bowled by Felix Organ and Warwickshire go into lunch considerably less ill at ease than they would've been an hour ago when they lost three wickets for 26 to the bowling of Keith Barker.

It could easily have been four before Jacob Bethell had scored a run, but Liam Dawson missed the edge off a miscued cut shot to slip.

Bethell survives on 26 and Dan Mousley is 51 not out.

  12. LUNCH AT CHELMSFORDpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 10-0 v Durham 587

Essex have to face just one over before lunch as Callum Parkinson opens up for the visitors.

Nick Browne follows two byes and then turns the spinner around the corner to the third man boundary.

He drives through the fifth ball through the covers before Dean Elgar takes a single off the final ball of the morning. Intent from the off after a gruelling four sessions in the field for Essex.

Durham added a rapid 142 runs this morning from their final six wickets, including a superb 198 for Ollie Robinson, while Matt Critchley ended with four victims.

  13. Lunch at New Roadpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcestershire v Surrey 428-8

Just a single from the final over of the morning at New Road, bowled by Kashif Ali.

It has been a good effort by Worcestershire, who have picked up three Surrey wickets for 88 - two of them for Tom Taylor, who has 3-83.

Dan Lawrence, who was 91 not out, is still there on 129 and the Division One leaders still have the upper hand.

  14. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 168-1

Josh Bohannon is forward and across to Jas Singh, driving through the off side for four runs and we'll have time for one more before lunch.

Leg spinner Matt Parkinson will bowl to his old Lancashire colleagues, conceding a single each off Luke Wells and Bohannon.

A very satisfying morning for the Red Rose county who in truth have rarely looked troubled.

  15. Postpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 145-5 v Hants 298

Shot! Jacob Bethell is forward to Kyle Abbott, driving down the ground for another four.

Immaculate timing. That was just a gentle push with the full face of the bat.

Bethell is enhancing his credentials both in white and red ball cricket this summer.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Dan Mousleypublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 140-5 v Hants 298

The precious 50 comes after morning of carnage from a Warwickshire perspective off 66 balls with seven fours.

The last scoring shot before the landmark is a gentle push down the ground which just evades the bowler Felix Organ and rolls down the ground for one.

  17. Postpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 158-1

Luke Wells is down the pitch to Marcus O'Riordan, chipping the ball just over Jas Singh at mid off for two as frustration mounts for Kent.

A slim chance perhaps but Singh was not in a position to take it.

A couple more singles come off the over and the 150 partnership between Wells and Josh Bohannon arrives in 222 balls.

  18. Yorkshire all out at 'Scarbados'published at 12:52 British Summer Time 24 June

    Yorkshire 456 v Gloucestershire

It was fun while it lasted.

Yorkshire's Jordan Thompson hammered four sixes in his 44 off 29 balls but he is the last to go as he holes out off a fairly undistinguished Ed Middleton delivery.

The home side's total may a few short of what fans were expecting following yesterday's 307-run opening stand between Adam Lyth and Finlay Bean.

But there is plenty of work to do for the Gloucestershire batters - but lunch will be taken a few minutes early, so they won't start their reply until 13:30.

  19. 'It's not been full throttle cricket'published at 12:50 British Summer Time 24 June

I wouldn't say it's been slow cricket but it's not been full on, full throttle, exciting cricket.

  20. Bethell and Mousley rebuilding for the Bearspublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 135-5 v Hants 298

Dan Mousley moves into the 40s with a drive through long off facing Felix Organ.

These are precious runs for the Bears after losing three early wickets this morning.

Kyle Abbott draws a leading edge from Dan Mousley but the ball lands safely through deep backward point for a single.

Jacob Bethell plays perhaps the shot of the day with an immaculate push down the ground for four, drawing applause from the Edgbaston crowd.

    That's a 50 partnership with Mousley off 90 balls.
