Keith Barker is taunting his old side.

His spell of three for 17 off 25 balls this morning has put Warwickshire firmly on the back foot.

It should have been four wickets with Jacob Bethell dropped in the slips.

Barker got a lovely round of applause from the crowd when he walked out to bat yesterday even though he left Edgbaston back in 2018.

If he picks up more wickets later and the home side end up with a large first innings deficit, will he receive the same volume of applause when walking back at the end of the Warwickshire innings?

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 24 June

Two wickets in three balls for Sussex as Ollie Robinson has Lewis Hill lbw for nine and Nathan McAndrew bowls Rishi Patel for 18 in the next over. Leicestershire are 50-3, replying to the home side's 442 all out.

Gloucestershire have removed Jonny Tattersall at Scarborough, but Yorkshire's Jordan Thompson has helped himself to a couple of sixes already since arriving at the crease and they are 411-7.

Northamptonshire's Justin Broad bowled Billy Root for 41 but continues to suffer at the hands of Marnus Labuschagne in Cardiff. His fifth over yields four boundaries by the Australian, who is 29 not out, and Glamorgan are 104-2.

  3. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 113-1

Beyers Swanepoel bowls to Luke Wells, who flicks the ball off his pads on the leg side and Matt Parkinson runs in from mid on to keep it to three runs.

Good effort in the field but Kent also need wickets.

  4. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 16-1

Olly Stone overpitches slightly after the tightest of tight opening three overs and Tom Kohler-Cadmore takes full advantage with an on-drive for four.

Two balls later, Stone errs again and TKC sends it to the short legside boundary.

That should make him feel better about life out in the middle.

  5. Warwickshire pass 100 five down at Edgbastonpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 102-5 v Hants 298

James Fuller is in the attack and a wayward leg side ball disappears to the fine leg boundary for five wides.

He also concedes a four off the bat via a leg side glance off the hip from Dan Mousley.

11 runs off the over in total as Warwickshire pass 100 in the 28th over.

    Kent 244 v Lancs 109-1

More runs for Luke Wells, this time via a neat front foot cover drive off the bowling of George Garrett.

    Notts 360 v Somerset 8-1

Andy Umeed goes and that is a really sharp catch, that is a wonderful grab and Somerset have lost the early wicket.

Dillon Pennington gets the breakthrough and it's Will Young with the grab and Umeed will consider himself unlucky.

  9. Robinson misses out on double hundredpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 24 June

    Durham 533-7 v Essex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ollie Robinson looked set to reach 200 for the first time in his career, but when on 198 he edged a ball from spinner Matt Critchley to the keeper.

The wicket-keeper batsman is being talked of by many in the game as a possible call-up for England this summer and he has been in fine form with the bat. He got a great ovation from the crowd as he walked off.

He started the season with five half centuries in a row and then made a career-best 171 not out at Blackpool in May. Here in the heat of Chelmsford, he also broke the Durham fifth-wicket stand record against Essex, putting on 175 with Colin Ackermann.

Ackermann was out for 73, caught at short leg by Nick Browne off Simon Harmer. Two balls later the same thing happened to Bas De Leede who was out for a duck.

This is Durham's highest score against Essex, beating their 505 in an innings win at CLS in 2005.

A tad short from Joey Evison and Luke Wells gets just enough elevation via a top-edged pull to get six runs and reach an 87-ball half century, which also included eight fours.

It's his second 50 of the season, and his first since making 55 against Hampshire at Southampton in the second Championship round.

The six also takes Lancashire past 100 for just the one wicket.

  12. 'Robinson has played a brilliant innings'published at 12:10 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex v Durham 533-7

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex

That's so disappointing for Ollie Robinson, you can see how frustrated and dissapointed he is because he was so close to that double century.

He gets the applause from around Chelmsford and rightly so, he's played a brilliant innings for Durham.

He again raised his stakes in terms of what else could potentially be on the cards for him.

You can understand why he tried to go for it with the way in which he was playing Matt Critchley earlier on in that over with the deliveries that he was able to put away for six and four.

    Warwks 91-5 v Hants 298

This has been a torrid morning for Warwickshire, losing Danny Briggs, Sam Hain and Ed Barnard - all to the bowling of Keith Barker inside the first hour of play today.

Jacob Bethell later escaped an edge to slip before he scored a run.

Dan Mousley leaves outside off stump to see out a tidy over.

    Oh no!

After walloping Matt Critchley for six, Ollie Robinson helps himself to two boundaries off his next three balls to move within two of a maiden double-century.

Robinson then tries to cut away Critchley's next ball for runs but gets a feather through to wicketkeeper Michael Pepper.

    Matt Potts joins Ben Raine.

Very full length there as Kent try to stem the flow of runs.

Wells is slightly squared up by the fourth ball as he pushes defensively into the off side.

Garrett bowls wide of off stump fifth ball and the last ball is full on leg stump and tucked away for two.

  18. 'Warwickshire have two proper batters out there'published at 12:02 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 86-5 v Hants 298

    Kevan James

The only bit of good news for Warwickshire really is that is even though they are in a perilous position, they do have have two proper batters out there - if they can get through this spell, things might get easier.

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 4-0 v Somerset

He's kept honest by Olly Stone, fresh from his brilliant knock. The paceman forces TKC to play at five of the balls. Maiden.

Dillon Pennington opens at the Radcliffe Road End and gets a taste of his own medicine as Umeed takes his first ball for four down to third man.
