    Notts 347-9 v Somerset

Dane Paterson is almost run out by a shy at the stumps as he scampers a bold single off his second ball.

He will retain the strike for Craig Overton's next over - not sure his batting partner Dillon Pennington would be so chuffed with that.

He fences at the second ball in unconvincing fashion, and then gets an edge to the fourth. It's a gimme catch, but wicketkeeper James Rew dives in front of Tom Abell and spills it.

    Paterson takes a fortunate single.

It's his second century for Surrey, this one taking 143 balls and including 14 fours.

There's going to be a delay now, though, as partner Sean Abbott ducks into a short one from Taylor and is struck on the helmet.

  12. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 64-3 v Hants 298

This is Sam Hain's third Championship game of the summer and a season average of 17 is very low for a player of his pedigree.

He's off the mark first ball against Kyle Abbott and Dan Mousley gets a single of his own.

Hain leaves Abbott outside off stump and survives an LBW shout fifth ball. Possibly just missing leg, but worryingly Hain is playing across the line.

He then repeats the trick off the next over off Craig Overton.

It's the fourth boundary of his innings to third man.

Somerset react by moving a fielder to this very spot.

Pennington is up to 28 off just 29 balls. Valuable runs as Notts close in on a third batting point.

They rattled along yesterday at 4.63 runs an over - this morning could get lively if this pair get set once again.

    Kent 244 v Lancs 47-1
