  1. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 239-4

A scare there for Tom Abell.

Calvin Harrison gets more sharp turn as he spins one away from Abell.

It looks to catch the outside edge and flashes to Joe Clarke at slip who can't hold on. A tough chance, but a chance.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 24 June

Sussex are going to bat again after bowling out Leicestershire for 275 at Hove - they lead by 167.

Yorkshire have another wicket at Scarborough, with James Bracey bowled by Vishwa Fernando for eight, leaving Gloucestershire on 146-4.

Glamorgan's Chris Cooke reached a 120-ball 50 against Northants and they are now 373-7 - 94 in front.

Luis Reece is still there on 103 for Derbyshire, who are 242-4 at Lord's, still 191 behind Middlesex's first-innings-total.

  3. Postpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 383-4

Decent shape from Joey Evison as Matty Hurst defends into the off side.

Hurst is back to the next ball, cutting to deep point for one.

Josh Bohannon tries to drill the ball through cover but is stopped by Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Just the one from the over.

  4. Postpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 59-1

Four runs to Fletcha Middleton, back and across to spinner Danny Briggs and punching the ball through cover.

He gets a single off the next ball to move to 47.

  5. 200 up for Essexpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 200-4 v Durham 587

Paul Walter takes a single off the returning Ben Raine to bring up the 200 for the home side.

It's come at a decent lick, in the 53rd over, and there's plenty of time left to rack up a few batting points if the hosts can keep wickets in hand.

The partnership with Matt Critchley is up to 80.

Essex still trail by 387 and we have 15 overs remaining today.

  6. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 377-4

Joey Evison bowls a gentle away swinger to Matty Hurst who allows the ball to go through to the keeper.

Kent are controlling the run rate but remain a long way adrift with Hurst and Josh Bohannon looking comfortable.

One run to Hurst off the fourth ball through cover and Bohannon defends.

  7. Leicestershire all out at Hovepublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 24 June

    Sussex 442 v Leics 275

Sean Hunt takes three wickets in two overs for figures of 4-70 as Leicestershire are bowled out for 275 at Hove, 167 in arrears.

Josh Hull is last to go edging his fellow left-arm paceman to keeper John Simpson, his third catch of the innings.

Leicestershire are still unbeaten in Division Two - but they have a lot to do to preserve that record in this game.

  8. 100 for Luis Reecepublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 24 June

    Middlesex 433 v Derbys 239-4

    Luis ReeceImage source, Rex Features

Luis Reece has been in the nervous nineties for some time, but a single off Ethan Bamber brings up a 13th first-class ton for the Derbyshire opener.

It's come off a stately 176 balls and is just what Derbyshire needed after conceding a first innings total of 433 to Middlesex.

This game is rattling along at a rate of knots.

The deficit is down to 194 and we have 18 overs to come this evening.

  9. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 254 v Hants 298 & 52-1

Hampshire are getting into a decent position here in what was shaping up to be a tricky third innings on a pitch offering movement.

It seems to have flattened out somewhat since the first hour, as Fletcha Middleton moves to 39 with a clip through mid wicket past Oliver Hannon-Dalby for four.

Three fielders leg side on the drive now.

The next scoring shot is less convincing with three to third man off a thick edge. That's the 50 partnership with Nick Gubbins in 111 balls.

Hampshire pass 50 in the over and the lead is 96.

  10. 50 for Paul Walterpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 199-4 v Durham 587

Paul Walters turns away Peter Siddle for a single and that brings up a good 50 for the Essex all-rounder.

It's been a brisk knock, too, coming off just 63 balls

That's the 11th time Tall Paul has made a first-class half-century and a welcome return to red-ball cricket having missed all but the opening game through injury.

  11. wicket

WICKET Banton c Moores b Harrison 0published at 17:36 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 226-4

    One brings two!

And it's well deserved for Calvin Harrison who gets one to bite, turn and take Tom Banton's outside edge.

A four-ball duck for Banton and wicketkeeper James Rew is in.

  12. wicket

WICKET Taylor lbw Lawrence 0published at 17:30 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcs 102-7 v Surrey 490

    Dan LawrenceImage source, Rex Features

    Deadly Dan Lawrence strikes again.

There is just enough turn there to beat Tom Taylor's defensive push and he is leg-before.

The Worcestershire innings appears to be inexorably sliding towards a rapid conclusion.

  13. wicket

WICKET Lammonby lbw b Paterson 87published at 17:29 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 224-3

No century today for Tom Lammonby.

It's perhaps a lapse of concentration on a sapping day, but he plays aroudn a straight slower ball from Dane Paterson and is trapped in front.

A bit out of the blue, but it gives Paterson an 18th wicket of the season and boy was it needed, breaking a 157-run stand.

Somerset are just 135 behind and we have 16.2 overs remaining today.

Yet another Tom comes to the crease, Banton to join Abell. This is getting boring.

  14. Postpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcs 102-6 v Surrey 490

Is revenge in the air at New Road?

Tom Taylor is now at the crease for Worcestershire after his throw ran out brother James earlier in the day.

It's a shame James isn't bowling at the moment or this could have been a revenge plot worthy of Thomas Middleton.

  15. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwks 254 & v Hants 298 & 40-1

Chris Woakes is back in the attack but he won't be happy about the first ball of the over.

Full, swinging past leg stump and clipped in front of square by Fletcha Middleton on the front foot for four.

Ed Barnard bowls just outside off to Nick Gubbins, who defends.

  16. wicket

WICKET Handscomb c Alsop b Hunt 92published at 17:23 British Summer Time 24 June

    Sussex 442 v Leics 257-7

There is no wonder Peter Handscomb is cross with himself.

Sean Hunt angles one across him, he thinks about square cutting, but in the end just hangs out his bat and Tom Alsop takes the slip catch.

Handscomb stares at the ground for several seconds - presumably thinking 'what was that, mate?' - before trudging off.

Good innings, though, which featured 11 fours.

  17. Postpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 24 June

    Kent 244 v Lancs 366-4

Matty Hurst is off the mark in style, driving Charlie Stobo on the front foot through the off side for four.

Josh Bohannon waits in the crease facing Beyers Swanepoel and chops a short ball just over backward point for four. Bit risky.

A bye follows and Hurst drives through the off side for one.

Bohannon is forward to the last ball, getting a thick inside edge through mid wicket for one,

  18. wicket

WICKET Waite b Lawrence 3published at 17:21 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcs 102-6 v Surrey 490

He sparkled with the bat and now Dan Lawrence has a wicket as well.

Matthew Waite is totally bamboozled by a ball floated up on off stump, plays down the wrong line and is bowled.

Can Worcestershire survive the day with another 17 overs to come after this one?

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 24 June

Miles Hammond comes down the track swings across the line and is bowled by Dom Bess for 15 - Gloucestershire are 130-3 against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

Glamorgan have also lost a wicket, with Timm van der Gugten caught behind off Northants skipper Luke Procter for 41 after a stand of 68 with Chris Cooke - they are 338-6.

  20. 150 partnershippublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 360 v Somerset 220-2

Tom Lammonby's heart will be beating a little faster after scampering through for a risky single off Calvin Harrison.

Lyndon James shies at the stumps but is off-target, although the batter may probably have been home.

He then takes a single off the first ball of Dane Paterson's first over back to bring up the 150 paertnership.

It's come off 277 balls and is gradually putting the visitors in control. Lammonby is now the game's top scorer with 86, eclipsing Olly Stone's 83, and Tom Abell has 72.

The deficit is down to 140.
