When Scholfield looks back, she'll be disappointed she didn't try to go over extra cover.

Trying to go across the line has done her but it's clever bowling.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.4 overs

Scholfield st Ghosh b Shree Charani 4 (Eng 162-6)

The promotion up the order hasn't quite worked out for Paige Scholfield.

She was starved of the strike somewhat, and tries to kick on by charging down the pitch to Shree Charani. Richa Ghosh fumbles beind the stumps but eventually whips off the bails with Scholfield well short of her ground.

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 161-5published at 18.2 overs

    Yep, there she goes!

    Over cow corner for six.

  5. Eng 153-5published at 18 overs

    Sophie Ecclestone joins Paige Scholfield.

She played a cracking cameo at Bristol to give England's innings a little more credibility, and they could do with her repeating the trick right now.

Tammy Beaumont got way too far across to the off side. She was trying to access that fine angle but went too far.

You can't blame her, she had to try and find boundaries straight away.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.5 overs

    Beaumont b Yadav 2 (Eng 152-5)

    Well.

Tammy Beaumont shuffles across her stumps, tries to sweep, and is cleaned up.

England have lost five for 15.

This is a big moment for Paige Scholfield.

She played against Ireland last year when Kate Cross was captain but this is her senior, senior debut if you like.

Terrible decision from the umpire but also a terrible decision from Amy Jones.

When you're none down this far in, this can happen. The collapse is almost guaranteed because everyone is expected to come in and hit big shots from the off.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17 overs

    Jones lbw b Reddy 0 (Eng 149-4)

    Good review!

Amy Jones plays all around a straight one and has to depart first ball.

This has been a pretty woeful passage of play.

This is touch and go for me.

  12. Ind reviewpublished at 17 overs

    Two in two?!

Reddy is pleading with the umpire for an lbw against Amy Jones, eventually having to settle for a review.

    This looks pretty close.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.5 overs

    Wyatt-Hodge c H Kaur b Reddy 66 (Eng 149-3)

    Another!

Pace off again from Arundhati Reddy, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge gets in a right tangle.

She chips it straight up in the air and Harmanpreet Kaur hangs on this time.

    Interesting.

Paige Scholfield is promoted to number four ahead of Tammy Beaumont.

I could see what Capsey was trying to do - but I'm not sure why she was doing it.

She saw the success Dunkley had playing down the ground. The ramp seemed unnecessary to me.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.1 overs

    Capsey c Shree Charani b Reddy 2 (Eng 146-2)

Alice Capsey is in and out in a flash.

She tries to ramp her third ball and picks out Shree Charani at short fine leg. That is a soft dismissal.

  17. 6 runs

    No Dunkley, no problem.

Down on one knee and launched for six by Danni Wyatt-Hodge, ending the over in style.

That partnership of 137 was England’s third highest opening stand in T20I cricket.

The highest two stands, both of 147 came in 2016 and 2018 against Pakistan and South Africa.

Deepti Sharma is shaking her hands, she didn't catch it comfortably. Sophia Dunkley is dismissed by a full toss.

  20. wicket

    Dunkley c & b Sharma 75 (Eng 137-1)

And there's the breakthrough! Sophia Dunkley's entertaining knock of 75 from 53 balls comes to an end.

She charges down the pitch to a full toss from Deepti Sharma and ends up somehow slogging it straight up in the air for the bowler to take a simple catch.
