Don't want to jinx it but can we all start to get a bit excited! England are going to bowl 90 overs in a day!

  2. Pak 228-4published at 79 overs

It has not been a good day for England and their reviews. A lot has been made of Ollie Pope's poor record but it was Ben Stokes who missed the edge of Muhammad Rizwan when he was on six.

This partnership has stretched to 50 since.

Muhammad Rizwan is nowhere near that. It's not even in the same postcode.

The crowd are cheering. There's nothing on Ultra-edge.

Muhammed Rizwan missed it by a long way.

It would be a horrible way to go. Straight away Jamie Smith was convinced.

Rizwan is shaking his head but Jamie Smith was convinced as he took the ball down the leg side. It could have hit thigh pad.

A wicket two overs before the new ball?

England think Muhammad Rizwan has got an under edge to Shoaib Bashir...

  8. Pak 225-4published at 78 overs

    Ghulam 102, Rizwan 24

Joe Root mixes it up, some loopy, some fired in, but there's not a lot there for him.

  9. Pak 225-4published at 77 overs

    Ghulam 102, Rizwan 24

Now he's no longer captain, Ollie Pope has been sent straight back in at shot leg. He is right in the firing line of all of these sweeps and one clatters into him somewhere near the shoulder blade.

Muhammad Rizwan has an exceptional record playing the sweep. In the last five years in Tests, he has scored 278 runs playing the sweep shot (conventional, reverse and slog sweep) and been dismissed only on one occasion.

Most runs playing the sweep shot v spin in Tests (last five years)

    • Joe Root - 727
    • Mushfiqur Rahim - 335
    • Ben Stokes - 310
    • Ben Duckett - 285
    • Muhammad Rizwan - 278
  11. Pak 224-4published at 76 overs

Joe Root charges through his fourth over with his yellow-tinted sunglasses firmly in place.

A new ball is four overs away for England.

Shoaib Bashir was targeted in the first Test by Shan Masood, but now it's Muhammad Rizwan.

Bashir has bowled too full today and Rizwan is targeting the mid-wicket region.

  13. Pak 223-4published at 75 overs

    Ghulam 102, Rizwan 22

And now Muhammad Rizwan suddenly looks more comfortable. Twice he takes a liking to Shoaib Bashir to heave him over mid-wicket for four.

There are some men on the TV, I assume Kamran Ghulam's family, looking very emotional in the stands.

There will be a lot of happy Pakistan selectors right now.

They've made the right choice bringing Kamran Ghulam into this Test match. It's been a brilliant knock from him.

Slogged for four! Kamran Ghulam scores a hundred in his first Test innings.

He is absolutely delighted. He's running around, roaring and blowing kisses.

The selectors will be feeling a lot happier now.

With reverse swing looking to be considerably more dangerous than spin at the moment, this may bode well for England going forward. They have multiple bowlers who can use this, whereas Pakistan have gone very spin heavy. Hopefully the pitch holds up for England.

Kamran Ghulam begins the over with a single. That's one run closer but he's now got to watch on nervously from the non-striker's end.

    Cheers Sam.

How nervous will Kamran Ghulam be as he swigs on an energy drink?

He was playing for Hoylandswaine near Barnsley earlier this summer. He has had spells in the Lancashire league and the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire league in recent years.

He's three runs away from a Test hundred on debut...
