The big problem in the game against South Africa was that while Andries Gous was out in the middle for the whole innings, he only faced 47 balls out of 120 and got 80. USA need to find a way for him to face more balls.

To get through to the Super 8s is an amazing achievement for USA. That super over against Pakistan will be remembered for a long time. They look like they know what they are doing and they have a well-balanced squad. They have been my team to watch.

  3. USA 3-0published at 1 over

Steven Taylor gets off the mark with a single despite a bit of a mix-up between the batters.

No such trouble for Andries Gous, who calmly pushes his first ball to long off for one.

Good start from Akeal Hosein, though, just three from the over.

  4. USA 0-0published at 0.2 overs

Big appeal from Akeal Hosein as Steven Taylor gets himself into a bit of a tangle trying to pull a slightly shorter delivery.

Looked a bit too high and it's not reviewed.

The USA have had to juggle things around to find a settled combination. Hopefully tonight's combination works.

Right then, we are ready to go in Bridgetown.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein is ready to bowl the first over of the match with Steven Taylor on strike for the USA.

It is must-win for both teams, who are hosting this World Cup. That South Africa win over England is probably one of the worst things that could have happened for the West Indies. They have to win both games.

  8. More net run-rate fun?published at 01:28 British Summer Time 22 June

Should West Indies win tonight, we are all set for another couple of days of net run-rate chat.

Rovman Powell's side need a pretty sizeable victory over the US to overhaul England's net run-rate.

However, it is close enough that any win is likely to put NRR front and centre going into the last round of fixtures in Group 2.

West Indies wins over the USA and South Africa, plus an England victory against the USA would leave England, South Africa and West Indies all on four points.

So if you want to avoid getting your calculator out, you want a USA triumph tonight. That essentially sets up a quarter-final against England on Sunday...

USA captain Aaron Jones: "I think it's going to be good, obviously I'll get a lot of support tonight (coming back to Barbados) and I'm really looking forward to the game.

"I think it is going to be a good wicket. We're going to play our normal fearless, aggressive cricket and look to get a good total.

"We've just got to make sure we play positive cricket, that's been working for us. If we're as positive as possible then we'll get a good score."

  14. 'With inclement weather, we want to see what we can do'published at 01:15 British Summer Time 22 June

West Indies captain Rovman Powell: "We're going to bowl first, it looks a pretty good surface. With inclement weather, we want to see what we can do.

"It's plain and simple, our destiny is in our own hands. If we play two good games of cricket, we are in the semi-finals.

"If you look at the last six or seven months, we have batted well as a team. Tonight gives us such an opportunity to get a big score on what is a really nice wicket."

Team news?: "Romario Shepherd is out for Obed McCoy. Brandon King is ruled out, so Shai Hope comes in."

  17. England hopes in balance after South Africa win thrillerpublished at 01:06 British Summer Time 22 June

England's hopes of reaching the T20 World Cup semi-finals are in the balance after they lost a final-over thriller against South Africa in St Lucia earlier today.

Harry Brook resurrected a floundering chase of 164 on a tricky pitch to leave 14 runs required from the final six balls.

But he was brilliantly caught for 53 by Aiden Markram off the first ball of the 20th over as the game swung back to the Proteas.

Sam Curran's boundary left England needing nine from the last three balls but Anrich Nortje closed out a seven-run win.

South Africa are now on the brink of qualification for the semi-finals, having won both of their Super 8 matches so far.

Well, we should be having the toss about now but, unfortunately, there is a bit of rain around and the covers are on for now...

It doesn't look too serious but it is enough to delay the toss.

    Good morning one and all!

The T20 World Cup is really heating up now with semi-final places up for grabs.

After England came up just short against South Africa earlier, it's the battle of the co-hosts in Barbados tonight as West Indies take on the USA.

A win for either side will take them level on points with Jos Buttler's side in Group 2 ahead of the last round of matches in the Super 8s.

    It's all to play for...
