It's been a fantastic powerplay for the Oval Invincibles. Put into bat and it's been all about this man, Will Jacks. Power, he's been hitting sixes, hitting fours, Dawid Malan really has just been rotating the strike and giving it over to Will Jacks, who has showed his power and showed his class.

Well the Invincibles will be delighted. Champions last year and they've made a really good start this year.

  3. Invincibles 39-0published at 25 balls

Following an expensive and dramatic first set for Akeal Hosein, Craig Overton comes back for his third and does add a bit of control to proceedings.

Just two singles are scored and the Oval Invincibles end the powerplay on 39-0.

Will Jacks has 34 of them. Dawid Malan has four.

As catches go for that chap, he'll catch 99 of them out of 100.

    Invincibles 37-0

A huge chance goes begging for Kieron Pollard.

Will Jacks went to club Akeal Hosein's delivery over his head for another boundary, but does not get enough of it.

Pollard runs around to take the catch. It lands in his hands, but pops up and out.

A very rare drop by his standards.

    Not another one?

Will Jacks is having a whale of a time and has just sent the ball flying once again over the long off boundary for six.

    What is Akeal Hosein's response?

  9. Invincibles 29-0published at 18 balls

Will Jacks is looking in fine touch. It really has not taken him long to get going.

Swept through the fielder at backward square leg for four.

The next ball from Hosein is also sent for four, a swipe through deep mid-wicket.

Another big one from Will Jacks.

Craig Overton had again bowled another tidy set, but the final ball is sent back over his head, just enough to clear the rope in one for a second six of the night.

Now, we're seeing some spin early from the Southern Brave, with Akeal Hosein introduced.

We finally won a toss after six games so I think it's sort of the way isn't it? There's always that school of thought of runs on the board in the final.

We felt these pitches have got better in the second half of the two games so hopefully, this one does the same?

  12. Invincibles 13-0published at 10 balls

Will Jacks has taken a couple of body blows off the bowling of Jofra Archer, perhaps some retribution for that six off the first ball?

An 11-run set there for the Invincibles.

Well, this is close, this is very close. Direct hit, Malan would have been long gone. He'd given up.

Dawid Malan is probably counting his lucky stars that he's not run out there at the non-striker's end.

Craig Overton with the throw in, but he misses the stumps. Malan was nowhere near making it back in time, had it been a direct hit.

This is what the modern player can do, hit sixes on both sides of the ground. A remarkable shot from Will Jacks, it's a bit wide from Jofra, it's full and Jacks just throws his hands at the ball. Magnificent stroke.

Two nights running, Jofra Archer sees his first ball dispatched into the stands.

He responded pretty well last night. What has he got for us this time around?

    Invincibles 8-0published at 6 balls

    It's a battle of England's white-ball players. Will Jacks v Jofra Archer.

First ball, Archer's delivery is wide and Jacks gets plenty on that to send it well over the rope on the off-side boundary for six.

Jacks is clearly not fazed by Archer's performance in last night's Super Five.

It will be interesting to see how this surface plays because the first game we've just seen, it was staying slightly on the lower side. Obviously, you can then bowl a little bit quicker but interested to see how this plays.

A good start to this innings from Craig Overton, who is giving both Will Jacks and Dawid Malan plenty to think about.

Both manage just a single each off that first set.

It's going to be crucial, this powerplay. There'll be nerves out there, we saw nerves in the women's game as well early on. You just want to settle in don't you?
