England just need to hold their nerve in the morning session. Get through chipping away at the deficit without losing a wicket on silly swings and it’s game on. Grind the bowlers down. Calm and collected is definitely the order of the day.

Good over from Mohammed Siraj, who has started very well this morning.

England are having to work for their runs this morning. The pitch is a part of that but India's discipline with the ball has been very good, too.

Zak Crawley got himself down the pitch but I kind of understand why India went for that.

India are building pressure on him.

Not quite as close as it first looked.

Crawley would already have survived on umpire's call because he was more than 3m down the track but it was missing leg in any case.

    India lose a review.

India think they've got Zak Crawley here.

The England opener skips down and tries to whip the ball over the leg side.

Not out on the field. Let's have a look...

350+ chase, unreliable weather, Bumrah steaming in, this has all the makings of an absolute classic. Looks like work will be taking a back seat today.

Siraj has really nailed his lines this morning, with 88% of his deliveries pitching on a good line, double his percentage with the new ball in the first innings (44%).

There's the width. That's what we haven't seen from Bumrah and Siraj so far.

I am surprised India haven't gone to Shardul Thakur because he is the kind of bowler you need to use early.

    Target 371

Just a four-over spell for Jasprit Bumrah and he's replaced by Prasidh Krishna.

He offers width to Ben Duckett late in the over and the England opener throws the bat at it.

A thick edge flies over the slips and away for four.

India have been really good in the field. For England this will not be one of their usual chases going at a steam train. The pitch will do less as it gets softer.

You are seeing how hard it is for England to score if you bowl really well on this pitch.

It has just got a bit gloomier in the last couple of moments.

Incredibly, just two balls later, India ask for the ball to be changed again.

Given nothing much happened to knock the ball out of shape in the two deliveries since they first asked, the umpires turn them down again.

India are trying to get the ball changed already!

OK, who had 13.4 overs in the 'when will India try to get the ball changed' sweepstakes?

The umpires aren't having it this time.

Those traffic cones that were fielding in the slips yesterday. They're back again. Very easy to spot in luminous orange on the Western Terrace.

Duckett drives Siraj delivery through mid-on for four

Ben Duckett gets hold of that one.

An on drive that hangs in the air for a while but it's straight of mid-on and hit well enough that is runs away to the boundary.

It is very evident that India are going to bowl to hit the off-stump. When the ball is keeping low, you have to bring that into the equation and that has been the tactic so far.

When the pitch is colder it does do more, so England have got to hang in there.

It's fineable behaviour in club cricket, Shaun, that's for sure. I can't see the ICC following suit with Shubman Gill, though.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah gets through another maiden with Ben Duckett attempting a couple of aggressive shots but getting the timing all wrong on each occasion.

Has Shubman Gill had to dip into the lost property box for his kit this Test match? Black socks and now a red t-shirt. Someone have a word...

These are encouraging signs for India, that missed the inside edge by a coat of varnish.
