Liam Dawson looks like the spinner we knew he would be, looks very dependable but needs a pitch that gives more to become a match winner.

Up comes India's 350 as Ravindra Jadeja cracks Liam Dawson over his close field for four through long-on.

Washington Sundar adds two in the leg side, with both batters now in the seventies.

Stokes hits Bumrah 'with authority' through extra cover for four

India announced that Japsrit Bumrah will only play three Tests before the series began but surely he will feature at The Oval in the next Test. Or maybe Arshdeep Singh might feature or Prasidh Krishna.

On the other hand, I can't imagine Jofra Archer playing the next Test. Ben Stokes as well, we don't know if he will play.

What bands would I give my colleagues at the ground?

Matthew Henry and the Bad Trousers?

Stephan Shemilt and The Endlessly Asking Me To Make Him Tea Even Though I Don't Drink It Myselfs?

The latter one doesn't really scan, but it is the thing I think of when I hear his name.

Anyway, Jofra Archer comes back in place of Chris Woakes and concedes a couple of singles from his first over.

Where they were at lunch yesterday and to where they are today India, it has been remarkable.

'Goalkeeper style' - Brook makes diving save to stop Archer overthrow

Ravindra Jadeja sends Liam Dawson down to long-on and takes what should be a forgettable single.

But Jofra Archer fires a big throw in that requires Harry Brook to dive impressively at slip to stop some extra runs.

The Test Match Special team have received an email from Rob who lives on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Rob's devised a game, and it’s very simple: you take a player's name and combine it with some related cricketing terminology in order to create a band name.

The example he gives is 'Shubman Gill & the Heavy Rollers'. With this match seemingly petering out - at least until Ben Duckett rolls his arm over - we'll welcome some of your suggestions.

England are desperately hoping that the impact was outside the line after hitting Ravindra Jadeja's thigh pads, as they have no reviews left.

Massive appeal from Liam Dawson and the England fielders!

He strikes Ravindra Jadeja on the back leg and drops to a knee appealing to umpire Ahsan Raza.

Nothing from the official and England are already out of reviews - not that it would have made a difference in this case, impact was outside the line.

Dawson has the small consolation of a maiden.

    Tidy drive from Washington Sundar!

He spots Chris Woakes' slower ball and lashes it through the covers.

The ball slows up and just about reaches the ropes ahead of Jofra Archer.

Ravindra Jadeja is proving to be a recurring thorn in the English side with the bat in this series, especially in the third and fourth innings.

Across his 12-year Test career, Jadeja averages just 25 in India’s second innings with five scores of 50+ - three of these 50+ scores have come in this series.

Ben Duckett time, I think you'll find, Ben.

Same formula as the last over, three singles to start Liam Dawson's over, nothing from the last three balls.

They are looking a bit bedraggled England now and waiting for something to happen. But India have crawled their way out of this - a great escape. It has been a bit of task for bowlers, pitches like these ruin careers.

I mean, Old Trafford doesn't have a Test in 2027 either, Alec (they both do in 2031).

A trio of singles from the first half of Chris Woakes' over, dot balls in the second half.

India not interested in a result here, the mentality shows why Test matches are under pressure and we should be thankful to the Stokes/Bazball regime. Old Trafford should take a lot of blame too, flat as a pancake. Headingley producing the best Tests but not getting an Ashes game is criminal, punish poor pitches.
