Two fours in three deliveries for Ravindra Jadeja!

He steps down and heaves Liam Dawson over mid-wicket, then sends an on drive whistling across the outfield and over the ropes.

There have been 40 half-century scores in this series which is the joint third-most in England behind the 1989 Ashes (43) and 1993 Ashes (50), but both were six-Test series.

Take nothing away from these two, they have played brilliantly. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul set it up but these two have been magnificent for India. I think this is going to be a draw and going into The Oval.

  5. Ind 322-4published at 118.1 overs

Back under way at Old Trafford - Chris Woakes bowling to Ravindra Jadeja, with the all-rounder defending the first delivery.

We've got 35 overs left in the day, although I think we'd lose two of those between innings.

India lead by 11 - England desperately need a breakthrough in the next few overs.

The fact most of the crowd have not returned to their seats and the umpires have been out for a good two minutes probably tells you something about the state of the game.

Joe Root's drop of Ravindra Jadeja - on a golden duck - is looking pretty costly now.

A tough chance, but England haven't created much else since.

    Here's how India's all-rounder reached his 50.

As the rest of the players walked off, Liam Dawson and Ben Stokes had a long chat while staring and pointing at the footholes outside the left-hander's off stump. It looked like they were talking about angles on the crease and how best to make things happen from those scruffy areas.

  11. India 322-4published at 118 overs

Ravindra Jadeja works one round the corner off Joe Root's final ball to keep the strike.

That's tea and this one looks to heading for a draw unless someone can produce a bit of magic after tea.

Incidentally, the last time there was a Test in England (not affected by the weather) when the fourth innings didn't start was in July 2014 when these two sides drew a game at Trent Bridge.

  12. Ind 321-4published at 117.3 overs

Ravindra Jadeja blocks out the first three deliveries from Joe Root's over with the prospect of tea and scones firmly coming into view.

Everyone complaining about England's bowling attack lacking penetration etc. This is an absolutely road of a wicket on which Bumrah took two for a hundred odd and England scored 669 batting second. The remarkable bowling performance was England over the first five sessions to take 10 Indian wickets for less than 400.

This has been an extraordinarily valiant effort from India.

  15. Ind 321-4published at 117 overs

Liam Dawson, into his 39th over, skids one through and hits Washington Sundar on the pad but it's miles outside off stump.

Joe Root will squeeze one more over in before tea.

If India get a draw here and then pick a proper team for The Oval with Kuldeep and either Arshdeep or Prasidh instead of Thakur and Kamboj then England are in trouble.

England haven't really looked like taking a wicket in this session.

  19. Ind 316-4published at 115 overs

I've just watched one of Ben Duckett's first-class wickets.

Let's just say...it will 100% be worth it to watch him bowl here.

A single apiece for Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar off Liam Dawson's over.

Remember, they can shake hands any time after we hit 15 overs to go. India might not want to, though.
