Summary

  1. 6 runs

    Ind 95-3published at 16.3 overs

    Need 16 from 21 balls

    Wow, that is special.

Suryakumar Yadav with a stunning lofted drive over extra cover for six.

    How?!

It also brings up the fifty partnership. A vital one.

It is difficult for the bowlers now as the batters are well set and can just knock off the singles. Do they try something a bit different to try and get a wicket?

  3. Ind 87-3published at 16 overs

    Need 24 from 24 balls

Sloppiness starting to creep in from the USA now, with a few misfields and those five runs of course giving India a big boost.

It's a run-a-ball for India now. Should be a walk in the park.

That's devastating for the USA. Five runs is massive in this game and on this pitch.

  5. Ind 84-3published at 15.2 overs

    Need 27 from 28 balls

In a low-scoring game, that is so costly for the USA.

  6. Postpublished at 18:45 British Summer Time 12 June

    This is big.

USA have conceded five penalty runs because it is the third time they have exceeded their 60 seconds between overs.

I think USA were just ahead at this stage in their innings but India have the greater batting depth, with plenty of big hitting down the order.

  8. Ind 76-3published at 15 overs

    Target 111

Good response from Anderson, just three more from the rest of the over, but India are just cruising along now.

The equation is a straightforward (!) 35 from 30 balls.

  9. 6 runs

    Ind 73-3published at 14.2 overs

Oh, absolutely enormous from Shivam Dube.

Too short from Corey Anderson and at his medium pace, that's not going to trouble many batters.

Things would be looking rather different now, had Netravalkar managed to hang on to this.

That was a serious shot. Ridiculous on a wicket like this.

Suryakumar Yadav is just breaking the shackles.

  13. Ind 67-3published at 14 overs

    Target 111

Suryakumar Yadav releases the pressure with a casual flick off his pads for a one-bounce four.

Such a classy player when he gets going.

Shame for Ali Khan, who had bowled a cracking over up until that point.

  14. Ind 60-3published at 13 overs

    Target 111

Five runs and a drop from that 13th over.

    Costly.

I think Netravalkar had it for a fraction of a second but it spilled out.

A big, big moment in the game.

Is this the moment that will change the fortunes for India?

  16. dropped catch

Suryakumar dropped on 22published at 12.4 overs

    Ind 59-3

    Oh, no.

Saurabh Netravalkar bowled so beautifully but he's dropped a relatively straightforward chance here.

Suryakumar swings hard, gets an outside edge that flies high into the air. Netravalkar tracks back at short third, does well to get in a good position with two hands on it, but it slips through.

It did go a long way up but he should be taking that.

    That stayed so, so low.

I think the players might be glad when they don't have to bat on this pitch any more.

  18. Ind 55-3published at 12 overs

    Target 111

Oooh, another one keeps very low and Suryakumar Yadav ends up in a heap on the floor, but the important thing is that he gets his bat in front of it.

He's usually such a dynamic player but he's got to rein it in here. India won't be rushing to get these runs, they'll just be focusing on getting themselves over the line.

That's so unlucky for the USA. It was the off-cutter and bounced in front of the keeper. I'm surprised it had enough on it to reach the boundary.
