Summary

  1. Ind 53-3published at 11 overs

    Target 111

Such good bowling from Jessy Singh but he's so unlucky. He bowls four dots in a row before drawing the outside edge from Shivam Dube, but it drop short of the keeper and runs away for four!

    Vital runs for India.

This venue has blown my mind. It is a pop-up venue, with 36,000 seats, and it is being taken down tomorrow.

It has felt a lot more permanent than I thought it would and the crowds have been unreal, for every team.

  3. How's stat?!published at 18:19 British Summer Time 12 June

The average of 5.7 runs an over in New York makes this the slowest scoring ground in men's T20 World Cups.

  4. Ind 47-3published at 10 overs

    Target 111

India seem a little happier facing Corey Anderson's medium pace.

They comfortably take six from it but at the halfway mark, this could still go either way.

India still strong favourites but the USA have bowled so, so well. Oh, for another 20 runs...

Such a satisfying sound from that wicket, both from the ball hitting the stumps and the crowd roar.

  6. Ind 40-3published at 9 overs

    Target 111

Feels like a different game now, after that Pant wicket.

India still have a lot of batting to come but USA have given themselves such a good chance.

Just two runs from Van Schalkwyk's second over.

There's definitely a good mix of support here. You walk around the ground and you will see plenty of fans wearing an India shirt but with a USA cap on.

Ali Khan is bowling really well here. With fire, pace and accuracy.

    An outstanding spectacle.

  9. Ind 39-3published at 8 overs

    Target 111

Oh, that Pant wicket really did keep low. Tricky one, not much he could've done, actually.

Promising signs for the USA seamers, though! They're still in the game, as Ali Khan bowls a beauty that beats new batter Shivam Dube outside the off stump.

And don't the crowd know it? The atmosphere is amazing.

"Timmmmmberrrrrr!!!" roars the PA announcer after Ali Khan cleans up Rishabh Pant's stumps.

There's so much riding on this game. If USA win then Pakistan are out.

The stand in front of us is rocking.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.3 overs

    Pant b Ali Khan 18 (Ind 39-3)

    Right on cue!

Just as India were settling in, the USA strike. Ali Khan goes full and straight, the ball just nips through Rishabh Pant's defences and rattles the stumps.

    The momentum swings!

The last couple of balls have just done a bit.

You know it is a tricky pitch because normally, chasing 111 to win, these two batters would be swinging.

  15. Ind 36-2published at 7 overs

    Target 111

Another decent over from the USA, this time from Shadley van Schalkwyk (what a name, by the way).

But every over that passes without a wicket falling is a big confidence boost for India. There's no scoreboard pressure at all so even though they've only taken three from it, they're still in control.

Here is one of the aforementioned sixes.

The steam has been taken out of the match with this partnership.

  18. Ind 33-2published at 6 overs

    Target 111

The two wickets gave the USA a huge boost but I'd say India have edged that powerplay.

Especially with a six each to both batters, and we know that the new ball has been the hardest time to bat.

    Ind 33-2published at 5.3 overs

    He's ticking.

Rishabh Pant swivel-pulls for six over square leg. The fielder could've been in with a chance there, had he been right back on the ropes.

  20. Ind 27-2published at 5.1 overs

    Agh, frustration.

Jessy Singh starts his second over with a no-ball and gifts Suryakumar Yadav a free hit - but he gets away with it.

    Just a single.
