  6. Bad light stops play at Leicesterpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 13 April

    #bbccricket

Leicestershire are 382 ahead against Derbyshire with two second innings wickets remaining but the sides have left the field at Grace Road due to the failing light.

Rehan Ahmed made a rapid 77 with 44 for Sol Budinger and 41 apiece from Lewis Hill and Ben Cox. Blair Tickner has three wickets.

  7. Postpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 13 April

    Kent 284-2 - target 316

Zafar Gohar is taking some serious punishment here as Tawanda Muyeye smashes the spinner down the ground for four.

He goes down on one knee to whack Zafar into the on side for six!

Does he have a train to catch? More likely a target to reach tonight.

The umpires did deliberate for a while, perhaps concerned about the light but Middlesex bring on part time spinner Nathan Fernandes and we are playing on.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 69.4 overs

    Verreynne c Pepper b Cook 3 (Notts 347 & 231-5, lead by 211)

Another big wicket and it is one which could have been avoided.

You can argue the toss about nightwatchmen but with just over seven overs of the evening session to go and with the match situation as it was when Haseeb Hameed went, the wisdom of sending out Kyle Verreynne was questionable.

It looks more so now given he has just nicked Sam Cook behind to Michael Pepper to leave Notts five down.

It was a defensive push at a perfect length and just enough movement off the pitch to grab the nick.

And now we have a nightwatchman in Farhan Ahmed.

  9. 100 runs

    Kent 272-2 - target 316

Ben Compton battingImage source, Rex Features

Ben Compton moves through the 90s with a carve through point and a pull square for a brace of fours.

He nearly gets three figures off the end of the over with a hit to backward square but settles for one and now faces Zafar Gohar on 99.

Slapped through point and that's 100 off 177 balls with 15 fours.

  10. Postpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 13 April

Hampshire 4-0, target 377 by Surrey

With the light failing in London, occasional spinner Dan Lawrence is thrown the shiny new ball by Rory Burns as Kemar Roach and Dan Worrall are too dangerous in these conditions.

Mark Stoneman and Fletcha Middleton are just trying to get through to stumps. 18 overs away in theory.

  11. 'It's looking ominous for Middlesex'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 13 April

    Kent 267-2 - target 316

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio Kent commentator

These two don't mind getting the job done tomorrow as they slow things down, it's a long season.

They'll just see it out to come back tomorrow, Compton has put in a good performance today, with some lovely placement.

It's looking very ominous for Middlesex now.

  12. Postpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lancs 123-2 f/o v Northants 496

How good has Calvin Harrison been in this game? Great loan signing.

Five wickets over two innings plus a 50 in this game so far.

Anderson Phillip blocks out the Harrison over with two slips a silly point and a short leg in place.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 13 April

Raine lbw b Yates 81 (Durham 243-8, leading Warwickshire by 305 runs)

A huge wicket for Warwickshire and the end of a fantastic innings.

Ben Raine gets down on one knee to try a reverse sweep off occasional spinner Rob Yates but misses his connection and the ball thuds his pads.

Up goes the finger and big celebrations from the visitors as the game has been drifting away from them this evening.

Matty Potts is on 17 with Daniel Hogg joining him.

  14. Rew rides his luckpublished at 24 overs

    Somerset 201 & 92-4 (target 595) v Sussex 294 & 501-6d

Sean Hunt has two chances to dismiss James Rew but doesn't get any luck with either.

The first, with the Somerset wicketkeeper on 1, was another caught and bowled chance, but where the last one stuck, this one did not.

A big shout for lbw two balls later is turned down with the umpire appearing to believe it was going down which looked feasible.

  15. Postpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 13 April

    Kent 259-2 - target 316

The floodlights are on at Canterbury.

Kent may be tempted to drop down a gear and finish the job tomorrow.

Ben Compton cuts the last ball of the Zafar Gohar over for a single to keep the strike and move to 90.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 67.2 overs

    Hameed b Thain 92 (Notts 347 & 227-4, lead by 207 runs)

That is a big moment in the match. Hameed has fallen within sight of his century with a tired looking waft outside off stump.

That was wide and Hameed looked to cut but it was not quite far enough away from his body and it has taken the inside edge of a 45 degree swipe and chopped on to his stumps.

  17. Division Two updatepublished at 12 overs

    Glams 385 & 39-0 f/o (trail by 125 runs) v Glocs 546

Glamorgan have made a solid start to the task of losing no wickets tonight with Zain ul-Hassan and Eddie Byrom reaching 11 overs together.

The deficit remains 125 runs but this is a solid start nonetheless.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 13 April

    Jennings c McManus b Harrison 49 (Lancs 120-2 f/o v Northants 496)

    Out!

Calvin Harrison bowls outside off stump and Keaton Jennings has feathered it to the keeper.

The switch to the Statham End has worked and Anderson Phillip is again brought in as night watch man.

That's a 100th Championship catch for Northants for Lewis McManus.

  19. 150 runs

100 for Tawanda Muyeyepublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 13 April

    Kent 253-2 - target 316

Tawanda Muyeye celebratesImage source, Rex Features

A rare short ball from Zafar Gohar and Tawanda Muyeye pulls for four to reach 99.

He drives the next ball through the offside for the century off 111 balls with 12 fours and three sixes.

His first 100 of the season and the 250 is up for Kent.

  20. Rew survivespublished at 21 overs

    Somerset 201 & 89-4 (target 595) v Sussex 294 & 501-7d

Big shout for caught behind but umpire Rob White cuts short Sussex celebrations with a shake of the head and a raised pair of eyebrows.

James Rew pushed forward at a decent delivery from Jack Carson which spun quite violently but there was no contact according to the man that mattered.

Interestingly, slip did not appear to hear anything either.
